Q: 1. If I want to sync my audio with 2 or 3 Ninja V, do I just need 1 of the Ultra-Sync 1 as the master connected to my MixPre 10, and the Atom X Sync on each Ninja becomes a slave and will communicate with the Ultra Sync via RF?

A: Yes, you only need 1 of the Atomos UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync for AtomX Sync and Ninja V to be the main unit while everything else can connect to it as clients via RF or Bluetooth.

Q: 2. A single Ultrasync comes with 2 bnc cables. The description for the bundle of 3 Ultrasyncs says it comes with 2 bnc cables. Shouldn't it come with 2 per unit or 6 in total?

A: Each unit in this bundle comes with 2 x Mini-DIN to BNC Cable equaling 6 in total.

Q: 3. Does this have bluetooth or will i also need to buy the Ultrasync blue?

A: The Atomos UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync for AtomX Sync and Ninja V does not list Bluetooth in the package.

Q: 4. Hello, would this work with say a canon 80D? Obviously, using the 3.5mm out LTC to the canon as a audio track

A: Hello Jeffrey, yes it should work, you'll need to buy the din to 3.5mm cable to get it into the audio jack.

Q: 5. Can I use TASCAM X8 with ATOMOS UltraSync ONE and jump sync multiple cameras like Sony FX3?

A: The Tascam X8 (when used with the BT adapter) is compatible with the Atomos UltraSync Blue, which can then in turn be used with the Atomos UltraSync ONE.

Q: 6. Looking to LTC sync multiple cameras with audio on location. Does this unit require RF sync during recording and if so does it emit RF interference with audio? Can you Jam sync and it will remain locked all day remotely?

A: I would also add that if you have a device like a Zoom F4 (6 or 8) which has it's own very precise internal time code, that you CAN use the UltraSync One device to Jam sync an external device that has a good internal timecode and a good one will keep a sync all day long. I use it to jam sync my Zoom F4 and it can last all day without being a frame off. Though if you have a moment during lunch, best to jam sync half way through the day. Also, from time to time, if the device you have that has it's own (very accurate) internal time code, it likely has a "calibration" option in its time code, which I would recommend running monthly. This just keeps it running tip top and can go all day without being a frame off :-)

Q: 7. Its is correct that the UltraSync ONE can output LTC on both connectors and therefore provide timecode to two devices (subject to cable lengths of course)?

A: The Atomos UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync can support your needs by going to the Sync O/P Mode section in the menu. If you choose to use the SYNC port as an LTC output, you can also amend the output level in Set Sync O/P Level.

Q: 8. Is there a way to split the Timecode from the Ultrasync to two outputs?

A: You can use a distribution amp like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1281342-REG/aja_c10da_analog_video_1_x.html

Q: 9. Will this work in Europe? Or is it US/Canada only? Thanks

A: Yes this product works in Europe with Pal frame rates.

Q: 10. Is there a cable for RED Komodo timecode and genlock?

A: This cable from Atomos will provide timecode connection - https://bhpho.to/2IKoAFx

[0.9 oz / 26.5 g] I'm a big fan of the simplicity, reliability, range, tiny size, and battery life of these units. My only complaint is that the connectors don't lock into place, so it takes relatively little pressure on the cable to pop it off accidentally. As long as you make sure to dress your cables safely so there's no danger of snagging them, the UltraSync works great.

[0.9 oz / 26.5 g] I did an 8 camera stream earlier this year and due to distances audio sync wasn't possible. I got the 3 kit of these and they connect wirelessly to my Ninja-V's, GoPro Hero 7's, Zoom F2's, wired connection to my Shogun's, FS7ii, and F8. They simplified my kit, would gladly buy again. Since purchasing I have used them on multiple Multicam streams as well as day to day with sync from mixers I work with.

2 issues I've had are when a sound mixer doesn't have a BNC output for TC, I just need to get the other cables, and when using the Blue to connect to the F2 takes a few takes to get connected, I wish I could get them to input the TC through the USB-C port.

[0.1 lb] I've been using a Ninja V as a timecode server to bridge my bluetooth-only Tascam with my other BNC timecode cameras. That worked fine, but I don't want the Ninja for every shoot. It's working as advertised and I can't complain... but I'm going to anyway:

I want an UltraSync Ultra or something. Something that's a combination of this and the UltraSync One. Something that can connect via cable, bluetooth or RF from the same box.

[0.1 lb] With the recently released 5.10 firmware, it is now possible to
jam-synch the Fuji XH2/S cameras to the Atomos Ultrasynch Blue Time Code generator. Bluetooth pairing between XH2/S with the Atomos is tricky - turn on the camera, go to TC SettingsTime Code Synch Setting Pairing Registration, and start the search. Turn on the UltraSynch Blue, go to Bluetooth settings, and start the search. The camera will appear on the Atomos display after a few seconds, select it. On the camera, a message will appear indicating a connection to the Atomos. Now the Atomos is registered with the camera and will appear in the registered devices section of the Bluetooth menu. Going forward turn on the Atomos, on the camera go toTC settingsTime Code Synch Settingsturn on the Connect to Atomos AirGlu BT for each session. To get time of day TC into the Atomos install the Ultra Synch Blue app' on your phone and jam the phone time to the Atomos. According to Fuji and Atomos documentation, it is possible to synch six cameras to the Ultra Synch Blue. I am shooting a documentary with multiple XH2S' and having frame-accurate matching time code is a huge benefit in editing. Thank you Fujifilm!!!!!!!

[0.9 oz / 26.5 g] This cable is the cable I use to sync timecode to our array of BMPCC 6k's. The cable is the perfect length to attach to the UltraSync to the camera rig providing timecode lock all day.

[0.1 lb] Davinci Resolve will natively sync time code recorded on an audio track with a couple of quick steps. First make sure the devices are set with one as master and the others as slaves. On the master set the frame rate to match your camera, this will automatically update the slaves to be on the same frame rate (if you don't match the frame rate the audio will be off a few frames when you sync). Plug a time code device into each device - cameras (through the audio jack if using an DSLR/Mirrorless camera), audio recorder (most audio recorders will accept the timecode from the ultrasync and save it to the audio recording as timecode - see instructions for your device). Dump all the files into the media page on Davinci Resolve. To update timecode on videos, select all of the video files and right click then choose update timecode from audio track. You will then see the Start TC and End TC get updated to the timecode from the audio track. To sync external audio select all the video and audio tracks and right click and select: auto sync audioBased on Timecode. This will automatically sync the audio to your video and replace the video audio track with the audio from your external recorder. If you used a splitter and recorded time code on one stereo track and scratch audio on the other then you can choose Based on Timecode and Append Tracks. Once set up correctly it works perfectly and a huge time saver.
A couple cons about the device is that it doesn't come with a LTC to 3.5mm cable, and the cables are very expensive. Also, there is not a good way to mount unless you buy the silicone case and the case is thick so it makes it difficult to press the buttons. Also, the menu system is very difficult to use, and nonintuitive so I have to carry around a hard copy print out for some functions.
