The Universal Audio Ox Amp Top Box is a reactive load box designed for electric guitarists. It lets you play and record your tube amplifier at ideal volumes and tonal sweet spots, allowing you to do so at levels commensurate with not annoying all of your loved ones or neighbors. Oftentimes, getting the desired tone out of a tube amplifier involves cranking the volume to levels undesirable for living-room studios or small venues; with this device, you can achieve that just-breaking-up tube tone—or even full-on crunch—at lower levels. You can lower the signal hitting the cabinet with the speaker volume knob, while the line-out knob and headphone knob control the levels of their respective destinations. This load box can switch between 4-,8-, or 16-Ohm operations to suit various cabinets.

It should be noted that the Ox is a Universal Audio device, and as such, you can expect access to quality modeling technologies. Should you want to eschew your cabinet altogether, feeding the house PA on stage or your interface at home, a front-panel Rig control has been provided, giving you access to mic and speaker-cabinet emulations that sound like they belong on your favorite album. EQ, compression, delay, and reverb are also on hand, and many configurations can be auditioned when pairing the Ox with a corresponding app over Wi-Fi.

For connections, the Ox offers a 1/4" input (plug your amplifier’s output into here), as well as a 1/4" speaker output, should you wish to route to a corresponding cabinet. Digital recording is made possible with multiple USB and S/PDIF outputs. Furthermore, you can route sound to a PA or recording interface with multiple, balanced TRS 1/4" outputs. A headphone output is available on the front panel for private practicing.

[19.8 lb] This compact light box has everything going for it that the serious amateur might want to have to review and organize his/her negatives and slides for archiving and scanning. It is for these reasons that I bought this light box. It is compact, light, easy to store, and doesn't take up all that much space in a limited work area compared to a professional environment. About the only drawback might be that it takes a specialized replacement daylight-corrected bulb that may not be that easy to replace unless ordered directly from Logan or B&H. 5

[19.8 lb] I use the light box to review a large archive of negatives, and it greatly facilitates that work - being able to compare several images which others wise look the same with minor differences. The Light Box is the only way to go and saves so much time and effort. 5

[19.8 lb] This is the second time I've purchased this light box (The first one I had lasted over 10 years. It only died because something heavy fell on it when I was moving). The only little drawback about this new box is the silhouetted shades around the corners. The light falls mainly in the middle. Also, the on and off switch are a little off. I will not return/exchange the box unless the functions stop working. Other than that, I'm glad I made this purchase. 5

[19.8 lb] I used the Logan Desk Top Loght Box to sort through a bunch of old negatives we had hanging around. It works well and it helps to speed up the process. Much better than holding up the negatives to the window or overhead light. 5

[19.8 lb] bought it to use my DSLR w Macro lens to copy all my historic slides of family. It does great because I am only using the brightest spot down the middle of the light box. Well made product. 5

[19.8 lb] The light box is constructed well with a metal frame and good quality plexiglass top. The fluorescent bulb is the only downside. Like most fluorescents, the bulb makes a buzzing noise which can grow tiresome after some time. Otherwise, the color temperature is daylight balanced as advertised, but the tint skews somewhat towards the greener spectrum. Overall, this is a really nice product for the money, and I would buy it again. 5

[19.8 lb] Been using this for a few months now. Works perfect for at-home use. I can crank my amps but at a reasonable volume with no noticeable tone loss. Being able to use the headphone port is a life saver because I can play after the kids go to sleep. Haven't had a chance to record with it yet. Last thing to mention... it's beautiful in-person. Looks like a well-designed piece of furniture. 5
