Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the dilution ratio from concentrate for developing 100 Tmax and 400 Tmax? Also what is a standard development time?

A: Hi Bob, Click on the link below to view the technical data and the development times: https://imaging.kodakalaris.com/sites/uat/files/wysiwyg/pro/chemistry/j24.pdf

Q: 2. Can this be used for developing black and white paper prints?

A: While technically film developer can be used to develop prints, its concentration/strength is significantly weaker and you would get very different developing times, contrast, etc. Your mileage may vary. It's best to stick to the appropriate developer for best results.

Q: 3. How does this compare to the original HC110, are the dilutions from concentrate the same?

A: The dilution is not exactly the same as the original. The best thing is to do a test run or two to hone in on the best mix, time and temp for the film you are using.

Q: 4. Do you have to mix the whole gallon at one time? Should it all be mixed at one time? How long does the developer last mixed up in a gallon jug? When you use it for 1 print developing session, do you throw out the developer that you just used?

A: Kodak recommends that you mix the entire package due to the fact that the different dry chemicals will separate and stratify in the package due to shipping. Once the stock solution is mixed with water it will keep up to 6 months in a full tightly sealed container. You can keep multiple smaller containers of the stock solution if you desire, again they should be full and tightly capped.Regarding a printing session, Kodak states a capacity of 120 8x10 prints per gallon of 1:2 dilution developer. Most people never attempt to use it to full capacity since the developer is cheap and it can be difficult to detect when the developer is becoming exhausted. You may mistake exhausted developer for insufficient exposure or contrast. If your a hobbyist then use it for something less and replace. I personally use it to 50 to 75 percent of capacity and never more that two printing session due to concern of extended exposure to the air / oxidation.

Q: 5. What's the size of this package? What's the weight? Because will travel by air!

A: The package for Ilford ID-11 Film Developer Powder for Black & White Film (Makes 5L) is approximately 1.3 lbs. The dimensions being 8.39 x 5.51 x 2.36 inches.

Q: 6. How long does a partly used bottle last on shelf at 68 degrees?

A: A partly used Arista Liquid Paper Developer needs to be stored in a bottle with no air. The bigger the area with air, the faster the developer will oxidize and not work anymore. A half bottle would last about three weeks. As the developer turns orange brown it loses its effectiveness.

Q: 7. What is the chemical make up of this product? Is it for color or b&w?

A: Moersch Photochemie Bleach Concentrate (100mL) contains potassium hexacyanoferrate and potassium bromide.

Q: 8. How much should I use for a liter of water? I'm developing photograms/lumens

A: The instructions and use for Ilford PQ Universal Paper Developer (500ml) is, https://bit.ly/3sba8td .

Q: 9. Why is it taking Kodak so long to fix this? Any end in sight?

A: Kodak still has not give us a delivery date on Professional DEKTOL Paper Developer (To Make 1 gal, 2019 Version).

Q: 10. Does it have a shelf life or go off? I've had a bottle for a couple of years and haven't needed to use it till now and wasn't sure if I still could

A: If the bottle was not opened, it should still be good.

[2.95 lb] Fist time making Lith prints. I really love the deep chocolate colors I am getting with this developer and selenium toning. Also I was able to get a print from an unprintable negative with regular chemistry. Great product.

[Liquid] Moersch Easylith is a fantastic reliable product. I’ve been using it as well as other Moersch products for years. All are fantastic. And Wolfgang is a great resource for answers to questions and ideas for using his products. I’ll always buy his products given the opportunity to do so.

[Paper Developer] I make changes to chemistry very reluctantly. I'm on my second bottle of ECO 4812 and find no reason to ever go back. It is wonderful! I like a lot of the Moerch toners, also.

[Paper Developer] The only other b&w developer i've ever used was kodak d76, and this performs just as well, if not better, for only $7 a pack. Very contrasty and cinematic look that I LOVE.

[6 x 5 x 5"] Responded well to Fomatone FB as an orange tone. Used at lower dilution but worked well for making lith prints, and 2nd pass.

[6 x 5 x 5"] If you want a non-formalhyde lith developer, this is the one. It works great with good tray life. I just buy part A and mix my own part B (saturated solution of potassium carbonate) to save some money.
