The AMP1-2SDA+ from Wohler is a 1 RU, 2-channel, 3G/HD/SD-SDI, AES, and analog audio monitor with a powerful audio amplifier to help overcome ambient noise. The unit provides instantaneous selection and monitoring of any available pair of audio from either a 16 channel SDI (with looped output), a single AES input pair, and either of the two pairs of analog inputs (balanced or unbalanced). Analog and AES outputs of the selected pair are included. There are additional 8 pairs of both Analog and AES on DB-25 inputs. The unit features adjustable volume and balance controls, while two on-board 26-segment level meters provide accurate audio level metering. You can visually and audibly monitor any selected audio pair. There is also a 4-digit, 14-segment display for setup and status display.

The AMP1-2SDA+ is small, low-cost, reliable, and simple to operate. It needs little configuration, as the unit ships already configured to the most commonly requested settings. However, should you need to change these settings, you can quickly and easily access the optional settings using the front panel controls and the Status Display.

A: I use this device for connecting various computers to my professional video switching systems. Yes, whatever the input is, the output is a stable signal at a number of different standards, including 1080p @29.97.I haven't run across any problems with HDCP blocking my use of the signal.That said, I don't recommend using ANY product to bypass HDCP protocols.YMMV....Good luck!Kevin Lawson

Q: 3. Can the Decimator 2 simultaneously downconvert the input to composite while passing through the original format to HDMI?I want to input 720p59 over HD-SDI and output both 720p59 over HDMI and downconverted NTSC composite (anamorphic).

A: From what I have read, yes it can, however I will double check and get back to you. However, I am using 1080p/60 so there may be a difference for you. But this thing is fantastic

Q: 4. I need to convert PAL signal to NTSC signal so I can send it into my video switcher then out to my projector. I am using this in the US, but my client is sending me a Broadcast in PAL. for the audience to view. can this unit do this?

A: Yes, the Decimator 2 3G/HD/SD-SDI to HDMI Converter with Built-In NTSC/PAL Downscaler will be able to convert SDI in PAL to NTSC in a composite down scaled format.

A: Yes that is possible.

Q: 7. Can I use this product to do external video monitoring with Avid Media Composer 8?

A: NLE, Non-Linear Editing programs, are not meant to be used in such fashion. We would suspect if it were even possible to see live video, it would not be a reliable connection. We recommend sending the video signal to a proper monitor.

Q: 8. I have a video switcher with Program out via SDI, I am told there is embedded audio running out with the SDI video signal. Will this unit work for my application? I want my SDI PRGM output from my switcher to feed into a standard LCD TV monitor via HDMI with video and sound. I want to set up client monitors in the Greenroom down the hall .. All my SDI feed does for my consumer HDMI TV is video only...Thanks

A: Hi James, This is Jules from Symbiosis, Decimator's Master Distributor for your territory. The Decimator 2 will all you to pass both video and embedded audio from the SDI input to the HDMI output for monitoring on your LCD TV. Just in case you need it, there is also a pair of analog line level outputs for driving an amplifier or set of active speakers as well. I hope this helps. Jules

A: Sorry, while Decimators are great products, this one is not right for your application. Use this one, (as long as the signal is HD) Atlona HDMI/DVI to Composite and S-Video Down-Converter B&H # ATHD530 .

Q: 10. can you put arri amira lut rec 709 on this monitor with some usb or smth?

A: Not that we are aware of. This monitor does not list Customer LUT Support.

[AES] Having no usb control support for Mac Catalina is rough and to set the dip switches you have to have great eyes because they are so tiny. Device does exactly what I need it to. 5

[5.0 lb / 2.3 kg] There's a reason why Wohlers are in every edit suite, control room, or QC bay I've ever worked in-- they're brilliant, and they're bullet-proof.� This model is no exception. I was really bummed that they discontinued their last multi-channel analog monitor just before I tried to buy it, but this is a game replacement with the added benefit of AES/EBU and SDI (which I'll probably never use, but at least it's there). Everything just feels right on the unit-- the knobs are all chunky and solid-feeling, and the control is intuitive.� And, of course, the sound is classic Wohler "ultra-near field"-- more than loud enough, and the imaging makes it feels like you're wearing headphones when you're not. Please note, you will need DB25 breakout snakes for the analog inputs-- they're listed as a related item in this item's listing.� They are simple to connect and space-saving! 5
