Q: 1. Does the 3.5mm microphone input supply power? I want to use a RODE VideoMicro with this camera.

[0.105 lb] I've only had it a week but so far so good. Menus are easy to get through and read when you are connected via your phone or iPad in my case. This camera has a sweet sensor and the software inside to make this a real pleasure to play with. I just ordered the Back Bone Gear lens kit, so I'll be able to put my Canon SLR lenses on it. I think I'll also get an external 4K recorder (Blackmagic) because the camera gets mighty hot after a short while. My favorite thing is the color temperature setting in 100 increments (5600K,5700K,5800K and so on), so matching the camera to lighting is super easy. It is unfair to compare this to go pros or any other sport camera. This is more like a pro camera, making it much easier to get the look of the shot you want. Enjoy, I am!

[0.105 lb] I’ve awarded this four stars, not because it is a brilliant piece of kit, but because it is essential if you want to control shutter speed, especially important for video.

Let’s take 4K recording (which requires an external recorder) as an example.

The camera is fixed f/4 and the minimum ISO for 4K, as with the RX100 V, is 1600. In bright sunlight, this will give an aperture of f/64 to f/90. If you shoot S-Log 2, which has the benefit that you can over-expose it by 1.5 - 2.5 stops, this still leaves the need for a neutral density filter reducing exposure by about six stops.

There are very few companies making 30.5mm neutral density filters. I purchased B+W filters (neutral density and a polarizer). These are expensive, but the alternative (a step-up ring plus a stepped up lens shield) proved very difficult to acquire. Heliopan offers this solution, but I spoke with them and they confirm B&H’s wait time of about six weeks.

The RX0 has no problem with vignetting with the B+W filters, including stacking two of them, but stacking does cause an issue with the lens hood, which may require application of a bit of gaffer tape when filters are stacked.

[0.4 oz (12 g)] This is an obvious extension for a camera I believe will be very dominant in the documentary filmmaking field. But it is equally clear that we need a good cage, good filters and maybe even extension battery recharging from a small accessory attached to the cage -- and yes, this filter accessory is ONLY the very beginning. Sturdy, well made and for me it will always be attached with the sun shade.

[0.105 lb] If this camera would have had bulb mode, I would buy more of them without blinking.
Dear product team, please note that bulb mode doesn't have to be unlimited, I understand that the sensor might get damaged, but 1min or even 30s would be enough, even 10s if is not possible more. This feature Is VERY VERY useful to control exactly when the exposure stops. Please consider adding it in a future firmware update!

[0.105 lb] I have used this camera for over a year now and it is fabulous! The picture quality is excellent and I and a prosumer photographer. I own high end Sony cameras and this little Pitbull is excellent for all types of complex situations. Sony make quality products and this is a fine example. Highly recommend for stills and action shots. Well worth the money.

[0.4 oz (12 g)] Don’t let the “toyish” size of this little gem fool you. Yes, the LCD screen is tiny and hard to negotiate, but the way around that is to connect the camera to a TV and setup all your main settings there. Once you have your desired settings, then your good. The quality of this camera is just OUTSTANDING especially for the size. I also have a Sony FX700 and when both are played back on my 4K TV the difference are almost indistinguishable from the both cameras, yes, the FX 700 does have a slight edge, but keep in mind that camera is literally 10x the size. The battery life is average at best but I still get a good hour or so from a fully charged battery, so keep a few spares with you. So if you want a great 4K camera that you can hold in the palm of your hand, I highly recommend getting one of these.

[0.105 lb] It was hard to find in Canada.....luckily BH came to the rescue.
Minuscule, built like a tank, same menus as my A7 mark three.
Quality wise, compared with my GoPro hero 7 black,it's not even funny......it destroys it.
The app on my iPhone 12 Pro, still a mess.....I hate that app like you can't believe.I'm not going to use it and I bought a Crane M2....it will stay there for good.

[0.105 lb] ...but, I found it useful and well made. I thought I was getting one that had a smaller screw to attach to the side of my Sony A III...

[0.105 lb] This is a surprisingly fun camera! Bought it for travel and snorkeling since it can be used underwater. Also takes great video if you are ok with a limited zoom capability (50%). So can do wide angle to normal lens equivalents. Quality of the images matches the A6500 (at lower resolution of course). For slide shows it is more than adequate.
