Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. We have an old sennheiser mike, ew-100, SKM 100, with frequency range 518,000 - 550,000 Mhz. It works with the Sennheiser diversity receiver EM100, with same frequency range. Will this mike SKM 825-XSW-A, work with the above receiver?

A: This is the XSW series which operates on the 2.4GHz frequencies and is not compatible with the EW series, which are UHF Based systems. You have 2 options for a handheld for your existing system: 1) Get the SKM 100 Transmitter Item# SESKM100G4SA + Capsule Item# SEMMD835 (or if there is another capsule you prefer. 2) Get the SKP100 Plug on transmitter SESKP100G4A and use any Dynamic microphone of your choice. Sennheiser has some great mics but if you already have other mics in your arsenal, it will work perfectly with this plug on transmitter. NOTE: The frequency range on your existing system, and the items I recommended are a little different, but they are in the same range so you will have plenty freqancies to play with.

Q: 2. Can this transmitter be used with the XS wireless true diversity receiver?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SKM 835-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e835 Capsule is compatible for use with the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Receiver.

Q: 3. Can this microphone be paired with any other receivers for use in field/documentary work?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK-XSW-A Bodypack Transmitter that is included with the Sennheiser XSW 1-ME2 UHF Lavalier Microphone Set (A: 548 to 572 MHz) can also be used with the Sennheiser EM-XSW 2 True Diversity Receiver with External Antennas - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEEMXSW2A) or the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver with Internal Antennas - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SEEMXSW1DU). The actual Sennheiser ME 2-II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector can be used any Sennheiser wireless transmitter that accepts a locking 3.5mm connector as well as wireless transmitters from other manufacturers that use the same type of locking connector and the same internal wiring configuration.

Q: 4. Can this connect into a home theater setup?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 1-835 Dual-Vocal Set with Two 835 Handheld Microphones (A: 548 to 572 MHz) cannot connect to a home theater set up. To do so, you would need to connect it to a karaoke receiver that has mic inputs.

Q: 5. with this mic work with my Canon EOS Rebel T4I which I know is cranky and will not work with every mic?

A: It will, and that little mic/line switch in the back in the important thing. Typically you would need to attenuate a line level to mic, but with this system you don't have to, just flip the switch to Mic.

Q: 6. Where is this product made in?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 1-835 Dual Vocal Set Wireless Microphone System is made in Taiwan.

Q: 7. will this item can be added to my existing "Sennheiser XSW 2-865-A Wireless Handheld Mic Sys w/ e865 Cap (A: 548 to 572 MHz)?

A: The Sennheiser SKM 865-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e865 Capsule (A: 548 to 572 MHz) is the compatible handheld transmitter for use with the EM-XSW 2 Receiver from the Sennheiser XSW 2-865-A Wireless Handheld Mic System (A: 548 to 572 MHz). Since the receiver is single-channel, only one transmitter can be used at a time. You cannot use two transmitters at the same time with the EM-XSW 2 Receiver.

Q: 8. How many of these units can be used in tandem? I need at least three (six total mics).

A: The Sennheiser XSW 1-835 Dual-Vocal Set with Two 835 Handheld Microphones allows for up to 10 coordinated, operational frequencies. In theory, up to 5 sets (10 microphone channels) could be used at one.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the 100 g3 if not is there a dual Sennheiser receiver that is?

A: No, the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver is not compatible for use with Sennheiser EW 100 G3 Series Transmitters. Sennheiser does not offer a dual-channel 100 Series Receiver but two of the single-channel Sennheiser EM 100 G4 Wireless Receivers can be used at the same time and can be mounted side-by side in a single rack space. The EM-XSW 1 Receiver can be used with XS Series transmitters like the Sennheiser SK-XSW-A Bodypack Transmitter - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SESKXSWA) or handheld transmitters like the Sennheiser SKM 825-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e825 Capsule - A: 548 to 572 MHz B&H # SESKM825XSWA), SKM 835-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e835 Capsule - A: 548 to 572 MHz( B&H # SESKM835XSWA, or SKM 865-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter with e865 Capsule - A: 548 to 572 MHz (B&H # SESKM865XSWA). A combination of any two of the Sennheiser XS Series Transmitters can be used simultaneously with the EM-XSW 1 Receiver.

Q: 10. Can this receiver be used with more than one microphone?

A: No, the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1-A Table Top Receiver is a single-channel receiver that can be used with only one transmitter at a time.

[Wideband FM] This is my first experience with this piece of equipment and I'm happy because I don't have to use two separate receivers with the microphones. Quite convenient.

[ Internal] Had originally paired a Sennheiser lapel body pack and handheld microphone to save expense. Then there was a need for these mics to be used simultaneously so needed to find an additional receiver and B&H worked with me in identifying one. It works well as a Sennheiser is expected to. Thank you B&H for the help your Sales stafferdid in finding the right equipment. The new receiver works great with the older microphone. It works as one expects a Sennheiser to work. Other wholesalers were not helpful but B&H was very helpful. Thanks, a Very satisfied customer.

[Tabletop] The transmitter was purchased as an exact replacement for our previous transmitters. The last transmitter lasted over 5 years of daily use and, unfortunately, sometimes misuse. The new transmitter worked perfectly out of the box.

[10 mW] three of these for video depositions. being as they are considerably different than the Shure set-up Ive been using for some years it took a little bit to learn their idiosyncracies. It has no problem telling me a given channel is not working very well but to change and then synch the bodypack is easy. painless. FAST. I'm using them with the SK XSW A bodypacks and the ME 2ii lav mics. They sound great. NB: I'm not putting a lot of distance between TX and RX. 20 feet? But a party left the room with her TX and, well, I muted her on my end when I heard suddenly talking to another party way down the hall... MY biggest thing was foorprint! I don't have the luxury of a lot of horizontal surface in my gig. Having TWO channels in each of 3 small boxes means everything. That's why I liked the Shures so much, until I didn't ( 5? 6 years? ) anymore. Pricey? A little bit. I've been around long enough - you get what you pay for.
