The Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Lens Control Systemfeatures a 1000' transmission range and comes with two lens drive motors with built-in wireless receivers, a FIZ hand controller, and two handgrips—one to control focus, and the other iris and zoom. The lens drive motors each feature a cine standard 0.8 MOD drive gear and two 7-pin connectors, enabling you to freely swap or interchange each motor. The motors power by daisy-chaining using the 7-pin cables, and each motor includes a 19mm rod clamp with 19 to 15mm reducing bushing.

The FIZ hand controller allows you to control focus, iris, and zoom, and it includes a neck strap. The handgrips feature adapters that enable mounting the controllers onto ARRI-compatible rosettes or onto 25/30mm diameter rods, such as those used with gimbals. The system comes packed in a waterproof hard case that protects your gear during transport and storage.

The system features three ranges: low, medium, and high. It supports up to 15 channels to select from, and the controllers pair with each motor via the motor ID.

The FIZ hand unit can control three channels (focus, zoom, and iris), as well as override the handgrips.

The motors can calibrate on lenses with or without hard stops, such as a photo lens with follow focus gears.

The motors feature cine standard 0.8 MOD 32 pitch drive gears. Each motor includes a 19mm rod clamp and a 15 to 19mm adapter bushing, allowing you to mount the motors onto either a 15mm or 19mm rod.

The motors power from a D-Tap connector, and then pass power by daisy-chaining via the 7-pin connectors with the included cables.

The FIZ hand controller and each handgrip power via two 18650 3000mAh, 3.7V Li-ion batteries.

The batteries in the FIZ hand controller will last for more than 10 hours, and up to 48 hours in each handgrip, when idle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this unit vibrate once you hit your focus mark?

A: Yes. You can set vibrating focus marks.

Q: 2. Can the hand grips be powered by ptap passthrough from the lens motors? Id hate to have to worry about changing batteries in the handles

A: yes, thank god.

Q: 3. I would like to use this with a Ronin. Has anyone attempted this? Please share your experience. I'm looking into a A7SII, ES-T17 cage, Nucleus M and Ronin combo.

A: The Tilta is new so reports are just coming in. From the specs, this should work on any Ronin. You could be the one who reports right here on the pages of B&H.

Q: 4. would this handgrip work with the nucleus-nano motors?

A: Yes, the Tilta Nucleus-M Handgrip in this kit works with the Nucleus-Nano motor.

Q: 5. Any one use this follow Focus in a Rig with any Sony A7 cameras? I want to use it with A7III and Rokinon cine lens I have .Thanks

A: This lens control is camera agnostic meaning you can use it with any camera and cine geared lens.

Q: 6. Will this work with Nikon d3300,3400, and D4 cameras as far as record controls and focus and zoom with the two motors?

A: Tilta doesn't have a Run/Stop cable for those Nikon cameras yet but this also requires P-Tap power from a brick battery or D-Tap port + a 15MM rod system.

Q: 7. What is a Gear Mod?

A: The 0.8 MOD Drive Gears is the connection that the Follow Focus Motors make to the lens. You can see them in the top right hand corner in this photo.https://bit.ly/2LcWpev0.8 Gears are found on Cinema Lenses Standard. If you have a photography lens you will be using you may just need to add a gear ring to them to make the connection. Here is a link to a Gear Ring that will work with this system.https://bhpho.to/2KROmYs

Q: 8. Can this be used to control the internal focus and iris motors on canon cameras using DSMC2 similar to Teradek?

A: This unit will control focus, iris and zoom through external connections to the lenses. You will need to have a manual lens that has a ring to control the iris when using this product.

Q: 9. What are my options to add the right handle to a regular Tiltaing Camera Cage like the Kit C for the Fuji XT-3?

A: Yes. In order to do so please review the following item Tilta 1/4"-20 to ARRI-Style Rosette for Tiltaing Panasonic GH & Sony a7/a9 Cages (Black) BH #TIAARA1B • MFR #TA-ARA1-B https://bhpho.to/37T7qlp

Q: 10. will the handles mount on a ronin m?

A: Yes they will. This kit comes with two Handle to Gimbal Bar Adapters that work with bars between 25 to 30mm. The Ronin-M has a 25mm top bar.

[2.5 Nm] I haven't used a wireless lens control system before so this is a new experience, however so far it's been awesome. The build quality is great on these units. The setup was quick and very intuitive and the accuracy seems pretty spot on. However that last point again needs to be balanced with my lack of experience with any other wireless system. So far they are just as good as my manual follow-focus so I'm happy. The price is great considering the quality so I'd recommend taking a look.

[2] Takes about an hour to wrap your head around the remote (FIZ) menu but once you understand the logic behind the engineer its pretty simple. That being said for the money this system is a beast. 15 or 19mm fit tight and don't slip. The FIZ vibrates when you reach your mark which is a nice secondary feedback. Handles work well with our crane setup as well.

[2.5 Nm] Amazing product. Takes a bit of time to get a feel for the remote and such, and we need to calibrate it somewhat often, but perfect focus control and have had no problems with its operation so far. Definitely recommend.

[Yes] Don't bother with the Moza and other cheaper brands. They don't compare. I've used them. This one is way smoother and much higher build quality.

[Yes] I use this kit's handles and motors for a documentary shoulder rig. It works great, battery life is a couple shoot days, and with a run/stop cable (sold separately) it's a perfect solution for a shoulder mounted setup.
I've paired the handles with the SHAPE Nucleus Trigger Grips Rod Bloc.
