It is made of aluminum alloy and reaches a maximum height of 59.1" with its column extended, folding down to 15.7" in length for simplified transport in its included carrying case.

Each leg of the Befree Advanced is composed of four sections, which can be adjusted and securely locked into place with the QPL lever locks found on all segments. A side-pull selector allows you to set up the tripod at three different angle configurations, enabling low angle shooting with the simple push of a button. Complementing the legs is an equally sturdy center ball head, which offers a dedicated knob for panoramic movement as well as a friction control knob for precise control over the tension during use. The final element is a quick release plate, which offers dual compatibility for RC2 and Arca-type compatible systems, except for the Manfrotto 804-3W and MH804-3W tripod heads.

An Easy Link attachment is available at the top portion of the leg section, and allows you to connect compatible accessories such as flashes or reflectors. This enables you to use the tripod as a support system and reduce the amount of gear you need to carry while travelling. Rubberized feet are used to avoid skidding and help keep the Befree Advanced stable in most types of terrain. Finally, an integrated hook found at the bottom can be used to add a weight and increase the stability of your tripod when shooting in more difficult conditions.

A: 4 1/4".

A: This excellent tripod can do many things but it cannot be inverted.

A: Yes. The case is nice and makes it easy to carry.

Q: 4. what is the difference between this and the Manfrotto BeFree compact travel aluminum tripod?

A: Much better ball head. I mean much. I prefer to carbon versions for be free advance. But price almost double. For carbon version be free compact price is more reasonable. Just 50$ extra. But for me I would never think about compact version, ball head just too weak even for A7 3

Q: 5. Is same model available with carbon legs?

A: Sorry, Manfrotto does not make this model in carbon fiber.

Q: 6. Is a case included with the triipod?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. For the quick release plate, if you turn it over, is there a metal loop that would allow me to attach to a sling with the camera attached via a carabiner clip?

Q: 8. Is it possible to unscrew the ball head and screw in a seperate Manfrotto Befree Live Video Head so that you get the best of both worlds when needing to shoot both stills and video?

A: The ball head is removable. The bare tripod has a 3/8 inch threaded male mount for attaching different heads.

Q: 9. Can one leg be used as a monopod?

A: Unfortunately no. I can recommend the Sirui monopod however.

Q: 10. Does it have any hook to hang bags for balance?

[Flip Lock] This tripod turned out to be much stronger and better built than I imagined. I have been very impressed with the strength, quality, adjustments, and flexibility of the unit. And certainly, it folds into a small package without much sacrifice on total height. To me the flip locks are more useful than the twist locks. I would have considered the carbon model if it had twist locks. I originally planned to use a RRS-30 ball head on this tripod but the ball head that comes with the unit seems well done where I won't be needing the RRS-30. 5

[-90° to +40°] I have an A35; this is made for the A7. Although there is an appropriate adaptor, I simply inserted a flat washer in between the camera shim and the camera. Works fine. The tripod itself is very high quality. But when I mount a heavier telephoto lens with the center rod fully extended up, there is some downward movement when I point, tighten the lock nut, then release to shoot. It's manageable and I expect that's the trade-off with a lighter tripod. 5

[+40° to -90°] I was using a tripod from Amazon and the legs would pull all the way out and were had to reassemble so I wanted a solid tripod with legs that would positively lock without guessing. I don't need panning so this is a tripod that meets my needs. So esy to set up and use. 5

[Flip Lock] First off, I love the load capacity on this tripod! I work with an Sony A7SII with a Smallrig Cage along with a Atomos Ninja V monitor. This tripod handled all of the load! I've even left my camera system on the tripod head for more than a couple hours and it just stayed still. Of course with the size and aluminum body, it does shake easy, so I'm not sure how it it would work on a windy day yet. 5
