The black Cargo Case Camera Edition holds a fully assembled professional video camera that is up to 16.5" long in the 9" tall main compartment. It can also be used to carry a full DSLR camera kit. For storing more gear, the bag features two exterior padded side pockets, two front and back exterior flat zippered pockets, and two front and back interior slip pockets.
When using the bag to carry smaller items inside the main compartment, you can use the included padded foam Camera Cradle, which protects your SLR from damage. You can prevent your camera from bouncing around the interior by securing the Camera Cradle with the Cradle Cinch tie-down strap. A detachable divider, a removable microphone pocket, and detachable PB-B9 stuff sack are included in the bag. They can be arranged to your liking to provide internal structure and organization inside the main compartment. A polyester foam core lines the Veltex interior of the case for soft, protective padding.
The outside of the bag is made of 1000-D Cordura nylon and features suede accents. There is a skid-resistant waterproof bottom, as well as two solid steel clip rings for attaching accessories, like keys, on the outside of the bag. This case features reverse zippers that are sewn in upside-down for added durability. The zipper pulls are moved back to the top and function normally. You can carry your bag using the removable shoulder strap or the suede grip handles.

Q: 1. will this work on a JVC GY-HM180?

A: Yes, the JVC GY-HM180 is a similar size to the JVC GY-HM170, and would work with the PortaBrace Quick Rain Slick Cover for JVC GY-HM170.

A: No, both the JVC GY-HM180, and the JVC GY-HM250 do not support LOG recording.

Q: 3. Does this cover protect the shotgun microphone?

A: Not really. The cover is long enough to provide some cover for short shotgun mics but ultimately your audio will be compromised by the rain cover itself. for example if you use this in the rain the sound of rain hitting the cover will be much louder than your subject simply because the rain hitting the rain slicker is so much closer to the microphone than your subject. It is best to take the microphone off the camera and have a dedicated mount with dedicated protection for the shotgun microphone to get the best audio when using this in inclement weather.

Q: 4. Can the GY-HM180 do more than 60 FPS in 4K mode ?(to get great slow motion)

A: It cannot. This camera only shoots 4K at up to 30fps.

Q: 5. What is a solution to mounting wireless receivers to this camera? I have two Sennheiser EW-200's. Thanks!

A: The Sennheiser EW series products come with a Shoemount Adapter, if you do not have that anymore we have it available as a replacement part. You can use the shoe mount adapter to connect the receiver to the cold shoe on the camera. The HM850 also has an additional accessory thread on the top handle, you could purchase a Pearstone Shoe Adapter to connect a 2nd receiver to that as well. If you wanted to use a light on your cold shoe we have products like the Vello V-Rig Triple Shoe to give you additional connections.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the JVC GY-HM250?

A: The IndiPRO Tools Regulated D-Tap Power Cable for JVC GY-H 500U Camera (18") (B&H #INDTGYH5) can be used to connect the JVC GY-HM250 UHD 4K Streaming Camcorder with Built-in Lower-Thirds Graphics (B&H# JVGYHM250) to a D-tap or P-tap power source and thus would indeed be considered to be compatible with it.

[JVC GY-HM650] Awesome product, horrible customer service. The bag works great, fits my camera perfectly and room for a few accessories without over packing the bag. But if you might need customer service, don't expect it from BNH, buy elsewhere. 5

[4.595 lb] I really love this Camera... Works great. Picture quality is great, controls are easy, very light camera, but very rugged as well. When shooting freehand with a Steady Stick, I find that focusing Long Distances is difficult with manual focus and impossible with Auto Focus (I primarily shoot a lot of RC A/C.. Distance shots even zoomed in hard to focus through the viewfinder and using the flip out monitor in daylight is useless as you just get blinded.... I Have a GY-HM100U camera and I do not have the RC shooting problem that I have with the 180, However this is a minor issue for me. However, even with all of that, I really like the camera. Heavy Duty, Great Video, works well... Inside use of the camera is 2nd to none... everything works great and as advertised as does shooting at night does very very well. One feature that I noted is the Remote Port... It is actually LANC and works well with LANC Devices, even though it is not advertised... A great feature that JVC should push, but do not seem to do. 5

[4.595 lb] I decided to get this bag because of Porta Brace's outstanding reputation and the fact that it's a near-perfect fit for the HM170, although it would also fit other smallish camcorders. The inside of the bag is burnt orange with a tight black document pocket on one side. It comes with a velcro divider. With the HM170 in the bag there's about 3-4 inches of clearance in front of the camera, assuming you push the camera all the way to one side. There's probably 1-2 inches of clearance on the sides of the camera. These measurements were taken with the lens hood and microphone mounted. (See attached photo) I would say there's enough room for the camera, power supply, a few batteries, and some small items but not much else. All in all, an excellent bag that will stand the rigors of the field. 5
