Q: 8. Will the high THD (above 6%) of a portable generator harm this power station if I use the generator to charge it? If I use this power station to charge my phone while it’s plugged into the generator is my phone still protected from high THD? Using this pass through feature is the station basically acting as an inverter to produce pure sine wave from the generator?

A: As per Goal Zero, using a portable generator to charge this Yeti should not damage the device. It should also not damage a phone when plugged into the Yeti while being charged by the generator. The pass through feature does make the station act like an inverter putting out a pure sine wave.

Q: 9. Is it best to drain the battery before starting to do the re-charge, or does it matter what charge is left on battery before re-charging?

[8.9 lb (4.0 kg)] Extremely useful in remote locations. I’ve been using it to power LED fixtures on set for anything under 300w. In conjunction with the (notably durable) solar panel it’s an excellent system for camera systems with AC compatibility or LED fixtures. 5

[8.9 lb (4.0 kg)] I had to wait a few months to get it, as it was on back order from the distributor, but was worth the wait. I need it as a back up power supply for my CPAP machine (sleep apnea). When the grid is knocked out I'd have to almost stay awake all night ... now there is always power available. It's left on recharge all the time so it's at 100% charge when needed. It's also great to be able to recharge 2 cell phones at once during power outages, among other things like making coffee and cooking. 5

[21 x 19 x 15.5"] The increased power supply lets you take better advantage of power supplies at coffee shops, hotels, ... In the scenario where there are few outlets, it is nice to have the extra power that enables the goal zero to be utilized and charged. 5
