Q: 2. When I opened a pack of this paper I noticed the sheets are not quite flat. The edges were bent slightly upwards. Is this normal, or maybe I got expired or not stored properly pack? What is the recommended position for storage? Can it be vertical, like a book on a shelf?

A: I agree this is normal and can vary with temperature and humidity. Hahnemuhle papers are coated to better accept ink common in digital printing. Curling occurs because the substrate expands or contracts differently than does the coating. I would reserve the word emulsion to describe any light sensitive chemistry applied to paper such as silver or platinum. Some curling can be a problem if the paper catches an edge as it advances through a printer. The result can be unsightly ink blotches at the edges. My pre-print ritual includes gentle uncurling of the paper by hand and then a light brushing to remove loose particles from the surface. Always store paper flat unless you're buying rolls.

A: The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Book & Album Paper (Short Grain, 11 x 17", 25 Sheets), B&H # HAPRA111725, is not recommended for this use case. If it does not show cracking right away, it will over time.

[276 gsm] I have ordered this paper variety twice now. It is a very heavy paper that works well for printing on two sides. I use the paper to print two sided and then trim and bind pages into a desk calendar. 5

[3.85 lb] I use Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Duo Matt for my portraits and outdoor scenics. I have found that I can achieve a depth and tonal range unlike other brand papers I have used. So far I haven't found any real negatives about it . 5

[Cotton] I use this paper exclusively for my black and white gallery work. True museum quality when nothing but the best will do. I've worked with many other paper brands but none compare. I use the two sided coating because it allows me to stamp and sign the back of the photograph without worrying about bleed through. 5

[20] I was looking for a replacement for Canons photo Rag and thought I would try this. I love it. It is a bit heavier and the texture is high quality. I prefer this paper and glad I had to switch. Very high quality paper. 5
