This top handle is designed to attach by quick release to an included 2.4" short NATO rail, which can be mounted on cages and other supports via two 1/4"-20 screws. The NATO rail has a slotted design that lets you space the 1/4"-20 screws as needed to match your cage. The top handle provides a sideways 15mm rod port, two integrated shoe mounts on top, and 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads. A: Hello,There are three 1/4-20 mounting holes in the bottom of the base that can be used for mounting to a tripod. Alternately, you could mount a 15mm dovetail plate to your tripod, and slide the cage onto that. I recommend the TT-C16 or TT-C16-A7 for the dovetail plate, as this cage requires that the plate have raised edges to accommodate the tripod-mounting section of the base.
