Optimized for M-series M7 and M18 or the True Blue D5 and D12, this high-speed ballast will provide power and advanced features to various lampheads, including 575, 800, 1200, and 1800W lamps.

AutoScan uses fully automatic scans of the lamp frequency to select and set the frequency for the ballast. These settings are constantly monitored and adjusted as required to provide a high-level of consistency at frequencies up to 1200 Hz. Manual frequency control is available as well as an AutoMan setting that permits manual frequency settings with automatic frequency control.

Active Line Filter (ALF) improves the power factor of the ballast, improving overall efficiency of the system.

Compensation of Cable Losses (CCL) adjusts power based on the cable length, ensuring power levels are maintained even when longer cables are used. This is available up to 164' with 120 VAC environments and 328' with 230 VAC environments.

DMX512 is supported with 5-pin XLR input and output available for connecting to your system. Three channels are available and users can then set dimming from 50-100%, turn on/off the fixture, select between the various modes (Low Noise, Standard, AutoScan, AutoMan, and Manual), and set the high-speed frequency of 300 or 1000 Hz.

High-speed frequency ranges can be set to 300 Hz, which covers 270-360 Hz, and 1000 Hz, which covers 900-1200 Hz.

Ignition supports cold start and hot restrike.

The ballast has automatic detection of the lamp wattage and lamphead.

A display can be used to see the DMX channel and lamp frequency, while LED status indicator lights are present for remote operation, successful ignition, overtemperature, protective earth, and lamp type.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The description says it's meant for RC paper. Can FB prints be washed in this as well?

A: Since RC paper has a tougher base, it can handle the high speed washing. A fiber-based print may be damaged when using it with this washer.

Q: 2. Where can I see the specs of this camera ? Mount type? Resolution ? Sensor size ? FPS? Etc

A: This camera is E-Mount, Super35 Sensor with Global Shutter, resolutions and frame rates supported are: 4K 422fps, 2K 1461fps, at 2160x128 resolution, 9,259fps. 2TB of storage internally, with 1.5 hours of power. Processes 3,774,873,600 pixels per second with a 5:1 compression.

Q: 3. Will this work with an Arrisun 12 Plus head?

A: Yes, this ballast is compatible with an Arrisun 12.

Q: 4. Why does it list a male connector as an essential element to this kit? Do you have to manually do wire splicing to get this light to work?

A: Due to the input power requirements a plug is not included so that the end user can wire it according to their own needs. 90-130 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 25-19 A 180-250 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 13-10 A

Q: 5. This mounting bracket says it works for the 6301N series, but I have an older 6301BE monitor (love these things, by the way... had it for years and it's still kicking). Will these brackets fit my older units?

A: The EB-6301 is compatible with the 6301B and 6301N series speakers.

Q: 6. Does this work for prints on fiber-based paper?

A: Yes it does

Q: 7. I see HMI's that are 1200/1800 watts. The ballast is dual wattage and the head is dual wattage. Can I just use a 1200 watt bulb instead of a 1800 watt bulb? With the 1200 watt bulb will the unit draw the less amperage. I want to be able to get the M18 and use a 1200 watt bulb and plug it into a 15A household circuit without blowing the breaker.

A: You can use a bulb such as the Sylvania / Osram HMI 1200W SEL XS Metal Halide Lamp B&H # SYHS1200HR , which has a G38 base to fit an Arri M18 head.

Q: 8. How many full size prints (8x10) or larger can you put in at one time?

A: The Paterson 12x16 High Speed Print Washer has a maximum print size of 12 x 16 in (30.48 x 40.64 cm). The four separators can split that maximum size into three different sizes including: two 6 x 16 inch prints, two 8 x 12 inch prints, or four 6 x 8 inch prints. You can therefore use two 8 x 10 inch prints side-by-side in the 8 x 12 inch separator configuration. It is not designed to stack any prints so only one layer of the two 8 x 10 inch prints is possible.

Q: 9. Metabones Canon EF Lens to Sony E Mount T CINE Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x (Fifth Generation) is the above mentioned product is suitable for this Freefly Wave camera ?

A: The Metabones Canon EF Lens to Sony E Mount T CINE Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x (Fifth Generation) will work for the FREEFLY Wave Cameras E- mount.

Q: 10. What kind of memory should I expect to have owning this camera, along with other equipment or accessories if needed ?

A: The FREEFLY Wave High-Speed Camera (2TB) comes equipped with 2TB of SSD flash storage. The camera comes with an internal battery that can last 60 minutes when recording and 90 minutes on standby, but an external battery should be considered for longer operation. Besides the battery, an external monitor, lenses, and camera support such as a tripod should also be considered.

[3] I have a few different ways I'm using this Ruggard EPP-CLL Cable case. The first way was just to store cables and adapters, mouse, and power bricks. It works excellent for this purpose.

It's become my go-to for these types of items because you can store so much. It has space for the cords and adapters and the back has a giant space to store larger items like a mouse or a bigger power brick etc.

The next thing I am going to try with it is to store some compact audio gear like my portable recorder, xlrs, adapters, etc. I think that would be another great use for this bag since it has a transparent front. It also comes with a few cable wraps which is a nice extra.

Overall I'm impressed by this bag and the flexibility it provides.

[22.5 lb] I keep these ballast bags close at hand. They are always on my tripod stands whether the mic is heavy or not. Just added insurance for those expensive microphones.

[50-100%] I personally plan on using this to store all the cables I want to bring for just in case situations (pardon the pun). Like charging cables, small hdmi etc.. But ithis cable case could be used for a bunch of reasons. It has 2 sides to it, one for storing cables, with elastic loops to keep them separated, and one side with a bigger area for other larger things. I put the cables on one side and charger blocks and a dual battery charger from Watson on the other. This is perfect for me. The build quality is fantastic. Zippers and loops feel well-made and secure. The nylon is strong and durable. And the plastic see-through windows are thick and strong. And having clear sides is very helpful. You can see clearly what is in the case without having to open it, that's great. I love that it comes with 6 velcro ties for your cables. This helps even more to keep things organized and neat. I might get a couple of these cases and have one for each of my cable families. Like one for all my different HDMI cables (mini, micro, regular). Maybe one for all the various USB cable types I have. This would be very convenient. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[cos φ 0.98] These ballast bags are great for holding down equipment. I'm using these to hold down the feet of a monopod that is somewhat top heavy because of my equipment. They're heavy enough to where the monopod doesn't tip over when bumped, but not so heavy that it's a pain to carry them.

[50-100%] This particular size is ideal for traveling. If you are looking for cable storage/organizer then get this case. Fantastic bag. I have always travelled with an external battery for charging my tech on the go and this been a great investment. No more searching the bag for cables and pulling out a tangled mess after being sure I neatly coiled the cables.

[2600 VA] Like all K&M stands, this properly supports the instrument, is built out of durable materials, and folds up to a compact size. K&M makes the best stands for woodwinds on the market-I use them exclusively.
