The CAMVATE Magic Arm with Swivel Ball Heads & Super Clampsfrom CAMVATE Magic Arm with Swivel Ball Heads & Super Clampsfeatures two super clamps with a maximum opening of 2.1" and both 1/4''-20 and 3/8''-16 thread holes. A: This arm is really made for smaller, lighter accessories. We do not recommend it for a camera.

A: This is all metal, except for the collar on the 1/4" stud, which is made of plastic.

Q: 4. Plastic or metal? Can the parts handle enough torque to keep ball sockets from rotating if there's any breeze when holding an umbrella?

A: The parts are sturdy to hold all the equipment together. We can't guarantee that everything would stay in place no matter the weather conditions. However, light conditions should not be a problem.

Q: 5. what is the rated weight capacity for the attached camera?

A: Camvate does not list a weight capacity for this arm. However similar sized arms tend to have a load capacity of no more than 5 pounds. Also this arm is really designed to handle an accessory, not a camera itself.

Q: 6. What is the difference between this product and the Smallrig Articulating Arm which is more expensive? BH #SM2070B

A: I cannot find a good indicator that differentiated the two to make the more expensive option better other than an easier handle to twist.

Q: 7. Are the locating pins Arri 1/4-20 standard? Will the pins match up to the SmallHD Cine 7?

A: Yes, the SmallRig Magic Arm with Dual Ball Heads (1/4"-20 Screw and NATO Clamp) has a standard Arri-Style 1/4"-20 pins and will attach to the bottom or sides of the SmallHD Cine 7 Touchscreen On-Camera Monitor (L-Series), B&H # SMMONCINE7.

Q: 8. What are the dimensions of the balls in this arm? Would like to use them with the similar product from Smallrig.

A: The CAMVATE Versatile Magic Arm, Light Stand Mount And Arm Ball Set features 1" balls. Which is a standard size used across many manufacturers.

Q: 9. Does the clamp fit around typical 12x12 truss tube?

A: The jaws of the clamp will not accomodate a 12" truss tube.

Q: 10. Can the shoe adapter be removed so it could be mounted to a tripod?

A: Yes the shoe adapter is removable and there is a 1/4" 20 mounting screw on both ends

[5.9 x 4 x 0.9"] This is arm is for pro use and I have no issues with its usability. Please note that the arm are not as lightweight as the other brands. This is only a issue if you are running and gunning, but again quality is close to perfection. Highly recommend this product. 5

[0.701 lb] Very versatile and can be configured in so many different ways and positions. I use it to hold a YoloLiv streaming device while filming sports. I would normally position the Yolo on the camera hot shoe however, that position is taken with a wireless mic system. Very well constructed using quality materials. 5

[5.9 x 4 x 0.9"] I really like using this clamp arm. I use it to secure a field monitor to my camera stand for church services. We rent so I needed something sturdy but quick and easy to manipulate. I don't think I was ever in a situation where it wasn't able to do what I wanted it to. The build quality is excellent, and the single knob that locks the whole arm in place very securely is so convenient. I would fully recommend this arm. 5

[0.701 lb] I use it to hold camera remotes exactly where I need them. A pin in the 1/4 thread holes allowed me to add a Varizoom rocker on the same assembly. This is a versatile problem-solving widget. 5

[0.701 lb] I needed something to hold my video camera while offroading in Utah in a rented Jeep. It had to be something substantial without leaving any permanent sign of having been there. The crab clamp gripped the passenger side dashboard grab bar firmly while the magic arm held the camera above the dash without shaking while moving down the trail. The result? Some fantastic videos that I will cherish for years to come. 5

[0.701 lb] This is a very solidly built piece of equipment, well-finished with substantial, firmly tightening connections. I plan on ordering a couple more of these for placing lights inside tight spaces. Jaws will tighten down on a rod but also on a flat surface like a shelf. Why bring another light stand or tripod that will only get in the way when one of these will do? Worth the money. 5
