[0.045 lb] This is just what you think: A cold shoe with a 1/4x20 thread. However, some speedlights, such as the Profoto A1, expect to be mounted in a cold shoe with a spring to stabilize it. This shoe does not have such a spring. It does have a tiny hole that mates with a pin that extends from the A1 body when you lock it, but although that pin/hole connection prevents the A1 from slipping out, it does not prevent it from wobbling a little.

This behavior is apparently how it is designed and should not be considered a defect. However, if you want to mount a speedlight that requires a shoe with a spring, you have to go with a differnt product such as a Nikon AS-10 (which is much more expensive).

[0.045 lb] I attach this to an UltraPod 2 and use it as a very portable mini-stand for a speed light. Works perfect!

[Aluminum alloy] Compact, strong, smooth corners and edges, works well. I have two on my GH4 cage, one holds the shotgun mic and the other mounts the Atomos Ninja Flame 4K recorder.

[0.045 lb] I've purchased a few cold shoes that bend and break fairly easily but this model's design makes it the best I've encountered. When attached, the head of the small screw sits below the actual shoe and it's a snug and secure fit. The shoe has good purchase with the camera body so any item you mount will stay in place. It's just one of those dozens of little items every videographer or photographer must have in their bag to get through a shoot. This may be the best one of the bunch.

[0.045 lb] I bought two. I will be buying another because they were the absolute best solution to my problem. I was looking for a way to get my Canon 600EX-RT speed light on to a manfrotto lite-tight for both a standard light stand and a C-Stand. The stock plastic foot that comes with the flash is fine for setting on the ground or a table or any other flat surface but I wanted something a little more robust to put on a stand. I screwed this down to the brass spigot that came with the manfrotto plate and its perfect.

[Aluminum alloy] It comes with screws for the cold shoe adapter, which it did not say in the description. Great adapter. Ive used it several times to attach an Atomos Ninja Inferno to a Sony FS5.
