Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the difference between this and a M-4P?

A: The Leica M-4P did not have a light meter, and has been off the market for many years.

Q: 2. An M6 (non-TTL) has a battery operated light meter - does this light meter set the shutter speed automatically or just recommend a shutter speed?

A: No, it does not. While the Leica M6 has a built-in battery-operated light meter, the light meter simply assists you with setting a correct exposure in-camera without an external light meter. However, the camera is still completely manual, and requires you to set the aperture and shutter speed manually. The only 35mm film rangefinder camera from Leica that offered automatic exposure was the Leica M7 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera.

Q: 3. What are the terms of the 3-year limited warranty?

A: Details on Leica M's service can be viewed at the following link: http://bit.ly/1W4SIXI

Q: 4. Why is Leica producing the M-A when they already have the MP?

A: $? Some may get the M-A because it lacks the electronic meter so it is fully mechanical. Perhaps relying on Leicas M film camera history to pull on the heart strings of customers. Nostalgia is a valuable tool for Leica. But at least they are still making high quality film cameras.

Q: 5. Black or Silver? Are they made from different materials?

A: There is no difference in materials.

Q: 6. Is the M-A's iso dial made of metal or plastic? The sample pictures here include a chrome metal dial and what looks like a black plastic dial. Its disappointing that the MP's iso dial is made of cheap plastic, but heard it shouldn't be the case for the M-A.

A: The Leica M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera (Black) iso dial is made of metal

Q: 7. if one uses a 35mm prime lens and need to blow up a region in a negative that was the real subject it would have to be done using an enlarger when printing to the print paper?

A: To enlarge a portion of the image, you would need to either use an enlarger in a darkroom or you can use a film scanner, printer and a computer.

Q: 8. What frame lines are in the viewfinder?

A: The Leica M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera has frame lines for 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 90mm, and 135mm, and they are paired in the viewfinder in combinations of 28/90mm, 35/135mm 50/75mm.

Q: 9. Does it have an "L-seal", or is it just a black screw? Difficult to see from pics

A: If you are referring to the Leica red dot decal usually on the front of the camera, Leica chose to deliberately omit the red dot decal from the Leica M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera.

Q: 10. are there any corrective eye pieces available for the m cameras or is it built in the camera?

A: The Leica M-A (Typ 127) uses diopters that are -3 to +3.This is the link for them, https://bhpho.to/2zd2KVw.

[Leica C] The reason I bought the Fuji x100V camera is the portability of it and not needing to lug around a large camera bag with extra lenses. I found that I was just throwing my poor camera into my purse - unprotected. This case fits over it perfectly without adding any extra bulk. I have the NiSi UHD UV Filter on my camera with the lens cap over it and it still fits into this case perfectly. This is exactly what I needed.

[Leica C] Been throwing my x100v in my bag and was worried about potential dust and it Getting scratched and so far it works perfectly! Tight fit but soft material. Does not fit with the lens hood attached but besides that "all good"

[Leica C] When I bought my FZ1000 II, I also bought a case for it. But when carrying the camera for a full day event, like an air show, I didn't want to carry the case just so I'd be able to protect the camera when I'm at lunch or if there's an unexpected rain shower. This case is small and light weight enough to attach to my waist pack (it comes with a carabiner on it), camera strap, or tuck into my husband's cargo pocket.
