Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the new Sony Z200? The mount seems to be different from previous Sony camcorders.

A: The Rycote Softie Lyre Mount with MHR is only compatible with Sony NXCAM, DSR, HVR, PMW, and HDR-series cameras.

Q: 2. Can this also be used for the ME66/K6? I have both the 416 and the ME66.

A: Yes, it can also be used for the ME66/K6. The 18cm Super-Softie (19/22) featured in this kit is our recommendation for both of those mics.

Q: 3. Will this fit with a Sony PMW F3 camera?

A: I can't speak specifically to the PMW F3. What I can say is that this MHR mount is highly versatile. It has holes in multiple directions as well as slots that allow for hole spacing. If you have a factory mount that has two screws holding it I would say it will most likely work. I had to disassemble and flip some parts. But it worked on my Sony HXR-NX3.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with the Røde VideoMic NTG?

A: The Rode VideoMic NTG has a diameter of 8.5", so the Rycote Standard Hole Short Fur Softie Windshield (3.9" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Black) will be slightly too narrow to fit.

Q: 5. Hi does anyone know if this would work with a Deity S-Mic 2?

A: I am not seeing this is made for compatibility with S-Mic 2. The closest model I am seeing that is would be the Rycote 18cm Super-Softie Wind Shield for Shotgun Mics (Standard Hole). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1044553-REG/rycote_033203_18cm_super_softie_standard_hole.html

Q: 6. Can this be used with Audio Technics AT8015 shotgun microphone?

A: The Rycote Super-Softie Kit 416 Windshield and Universal Shotgun Mount Kit is intended for microphones with a diameter of 19mm. The Audio-Technica AT8015 has a diameter of 21mm, so it would not be a good fit.

Q: 7. Will this work for the Sennheiser MKH8060 or is there a better choice for that?

A: The Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (BH #RYS12M) is a better option for the Sennheiser MKH 8060.

Q: 8. Any idea if this will work with a c100?

A: Yup! I've got it on my C100 MkII and it works a treat. Just unscrew the mic mount that comes with your camera, replace it with this and you're good to go.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the canon xa30?

A: The VideoMic Pro is compatible with the XA-30. It would be connected to the 3.5mm Mic terminal on the rear panel. We recommend the mic to be connected via one of the cameras XLR terminals for best results using the optional Rode VXLR adapter. https://bhpho.to/2hC6FCd

Q: 10. Is it compatible with the Canon Vixia G40?

A: I use it with a Canon 70D and its great. If the G40 has a mic input I'd say yes.

[0.8 lb] I use a Sanken stereo shotgun mic (CMS-10). This mount replaces the original Panasonic microphone mount - which cannot be used - as the Sanken can be seen at 24mm setting. Using this mount pushes the Sanken further away from the body - and now the mic now no longer appears in the video.

[7 x 6.2 x 3.7"] I didn't need a big blimp but did need some protection for light outdoor production and indoor use. I didn't notice any handling noise (but it was a static shoot) and it just looks cool! Make sure you buy the right size for your intended microphone.

[7 x 6.2 x 3.7"] This mount really keeps hand noise from the pole from being picked-up. I really like the locking clamp, very strong. The off-set XLR jumper cable is a nice addition. I havent used the fur screen yet, but should work fine indoors, not sure how well it would work in wind conditions.

[7 x 6.2 x 3.7"] The automatic on/off as recording starts is alone worth the premium. For the past few days I have been recording internal remodeling job and had to move camera around workers quickly, changing angles, tripods, clamps and lenses. The timing was dictated by the situation, not by me. Having a mic that works as an extension of the camera is great - they sleep and wake up together. As for the sound, it's what you'd expect. More than good for that level of boom mic.

[0.8 lb] I just purchased two of these for my cameras (Sony PMW-EX1 and Sony FS-7). I've had both of these cameras for years and have struggled with less than perfection from the factory mounts. I am totally pleased with the build quality AND the flexibility of use for new these mounts. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but here's what I like so far: -they are durable as heck -they are adjustable on two planes so that I can maneuver the mic position from high (above the lens) to low and outside (away from the hand grip. -easily adjustable (with no need to remove) for dropping the camera into tight bags -extraneous sound reduction- properly tight and flexible fit so there is no clanking or other noises to distract from the sound in front of my microphones. I use these easily with my Sennheiser ME66 and Rode NG2 shotguns.

[7 x 6.2 x 3.7"] It works better than the accessory mount that comes with the XF305. It is in two pieces -- the attachment to the camera, and a shotgun shock mount. The mounting bracket attaches directly to the camera in the same place that the Canon accessory mount does, but it is a smaller scale and so can be kept on the camera permanently without danger of loss or damage. The shotgun shock mount attaches to it. It's a very good design.

[7 x 6.2 x 3.7"] Would DEFINITELY buy this product again! Very rich and full-bodied sound even though the size of the mic is small. Would also highly recommend to my friends as well!
