Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can these bellows be mounted to a tripod head?

A: Yes the FotodioX Macro Bellows has a standard 1/4-20 tripod socket for mounting on a tripod.

Q: 2. I noticed it has a hole in the front. in the old Nikon PB-4 or PB-5 models you could use the PS-5 slide copying attachment. Does anyone know if the PS-5 will work with this Fotodiox nodel?

A: Yes, it will attach.

Q: 3. The person who left a review for this product said he could not connect his 105mm macro, what is the reason for this ?

A: This is old school macro. I would not use this with a macro (micro in Nikon terms) lens. It is intended to be used with a fixed focus standard lens such as 50mm for example. Nikon used to make these before they started making dedicated micro lenses. The bellows allows for the standard lens to be run further out from the film (sic) plane and thus magnify the image. All coupling to the body will be lost thus electronic diaphragms are disconnected. All lenses that precede the G series should be OK because you can manually set the aperture. I suspect setting exposure entails some Kentucky windage along with trial and error. G series lenses would have to be set based on a wide open aperture and just live with the reduced depth of field.

Q: 4. I have a technika 4x5, that is probably about 40 years old, still in the original box in excellent condition with all the accessories, what would this be worth?

A: For assistance with your inquiry, you would have to contact our Used Photography Department by either e-mailing a href= http://used@bhphotovideo.com, target= _blank used@bhphotovideo.com,/a or you would have to call our buyers at (800) 606-6969 ext. 2700 during business hours and they will give you a quote over the phone.

Q: 5. What is the cost of the rangefiner and grip shown in the photo of the camera?

A: B&H does not carry those two parts.

Q: 6. Is there any provision for setting the f/stop if this is used with current lenses without f/stop ring?

A: Unfortunately, a Pentax K mount lens would need to have an aperture ring in order to use the Fotodiox Macro Bellows properly.

Q: 7. what adapter can be used to attach a Nikon enlarger lens with L-39 threads?

A: Fotodiox makes a Nikon F to L39 adapter, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/336ypp5

Q: 8. Hello could you please tell me whether this works with the Fujufilm GFX 100s system?

A: Yes. According to Novoflex US' website, for use with the GFX-system, you will need 2-adapters. They note that "a GFX-100 needs an additional spacer ring PRO25 in-between the bellows rear standard and the adapter. It would otherwise collide with the standard." FUGPRO : https://bhpho.to/3vp5wjd PRO25 : https://bit.ly/3oPn99s

Q: 9. How is the aperture controlled?

A: The following unit is a manual adapter, so lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body (autofocus, AE metering, image stabilization, etc.) will be disrupted. 'Focus-By-Wire' lenses (such as Canon's STM or Nikons AF-P) requires power to engage the manual focus rings on the lens, since manual lens mount adapters do not power the lens, those lenses will not be able to focus. Set your exposure manually or meter using your camera's Aperture Priority (stop-down) mode. If your lens does not have a manual aperture control ring, the lens aperture will revert to its default position, which depending on the lens is either stopped down to its largest f-stop or opened up to its smallest f-stop.

Q: 10. How will the Macro-Bellows work with an old Nikkor 28mm and my Nikon D7200?

A: For best results you should use 45-60mm lens , 28mm you might vignette

[Synthetic] I use this Bellows with a 50mmm nikon Manual lens. i fell that it is a great value for the money. Especially with the added diopters package from vivator. i also own a 40mm macro and a 85mm macro. They are good in the field but I still love the bellows for home studio use.

[0.2 lb] Without a doubt, this is by far the best leveling head I have ever used. It was obviously made to very high standards and is a pleasure to use.I use this leveler on a Gitzo Series 5 CF tripod with my GigaPan Epic Pro panorama robot, and my CB Gimbal....

[Synthetic] This bellows has allowed me to transform lenses I already own into high quality, high power macro lenses!

I purchased this bellows to take macro photographs with my current lenses. I primarily use the bellows with a 90mm lens which has manual aperture and focus rings. This allows me to take nearly microscopic photos! Lots of light is required to take good photos with this system, and the depth of field is quite narrow even at f/8, but compared to spending hundreds of dollars on a good quality macro lens I am very happy. There is no aperture or focus pass through, so a lens with manual rings is required. The bellows length adjustment uses a rack and pinion which moves smoothly. The camera body mount and lens mount click in securely with my Sony gear, and the lens is locked in with a little spring loaded pin that you pull to release the lens.

[Synthetic] I am coming from large format film (4x5) and so a bellows is a sensible accessory for me. I was unsure of what to expect for quality, given the price, but I am impressed. I wish I could get tilts and shifts for this price, but the extensions are worth it to me. I already had a slider for stereophotography, which makes fine adjustments easier. I am glad that I was to get this versatile accessory for my first DSLR.

[0.2 lb] Works very well with Fuji X mount. The construction is a mixed bag of very cheap plastic knobs, decent bellows material and good quality metal rails. Be very gentle with it and it will last long. i bought two thanks to B&H for their support and vast catalogue.

[Synthetic] Had an older bellows that we used with our F2 for extreme close-up work but it would not fit our D series camera because the camera hand hold prevented the bellows housing from rotating to engage the mount. This one worked fine and we are again taking very close up macro catalog shots. Just like the older model, this is 100% manual and some lenses just will not work because there in no aperture ring on the lens. Make sure the lens you want to use has a ring for manual use otherwise it will revert to the smallest aperture the lens has available.
