Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the overall width with the angled sides and the depth of the trays?

A: If you don't include the little pour spout on the corner they are 13 x16 overall dimensions and they are 2 1/8 deep. If you include the pour spout it bumps the dimensions up to 13.5 x 16.5

Q: 2. What is the inner bottom dimensions of this tray? Thanks!

A: We believe it is about 22 x 26 .

Q: 3. What is the useable liquid volume of one tray -- or how deep is atray?

A: 1500ml to 2000ml is the average fluid used in this size tray.

Q: 4. Are the ribs inverted or raised on the inside?

A: ribs are raised. at the top and bottom of the tray, the ribs are about a 1/4 inch and they quickly reduce to barely a nub in the middle. good for getting tongs under the paper or film but virtually flat in the middle.

Q: 5. what is the depth of these trays?

A: They are about 3 deep.

Q: 6. What is the weight of each tray?

A: just over two pounds.

Q: 7. can I use these for developing 4 x 5 film?

A: I use this kind of tray to develop sheet film frequently (like 20 sheets per week on average) and have had very good results -- much better results than using one of those cheap daylight tanks or even the old kodak tanks with the film hangers. For 4x5 film I like the 5x7 trays better. The sheets don't float around as much in the smaller trays. If you're new to sheet film developing (or any film developing), I highly recommend the Film Developing Cookbook by Anchell and Troop. Very good reference that describes tray developing technique in excellent detail.

Q: 8. Is this price for the set of 3 different color trays?

A: This is a single white tray that measures 24 x 28" and is designed to accommodate print sizes up to 20 x 24".

Q: 9. What are the exterior dimensions of this tray, including the pouring spout.? I'm trying to design a sink to put it in.

A: Unfortunately we do not have the dimensions to that level of detail.

Q: 10. This tray indicates it is for 30x40 paper, but how large is the tray at the interior base? Will it handle 32x42 paper?

A: No

[1.05 lb] These are basic, study, Made in the USA (I think), trays. Liquids pour out easily, and they stack and store easily. Three trays, three colours, which is smart. I create cyanotypes and need to see when the dyes in the water run off and the water turns clear. A white tray is essential for that. As someone else wrote about a different Yankee tray, the lower profile ridges that slightly lifts (the print print off the bottom of the tray) makes it easier to grab but not too big as to need to add much more chemicals to compensate for higher ridges like some trays.

[1.05 lb] For just doing small 5x7 working prints, these trays are perfect. Right price , quality nice ... I like the lower profile ridges that slightly lift print... makes easier to grab but not too big as to need to add much more chemicals to compensate for higher ridges like some trays.

[1.05 lb] The trays are basically as they have always been - strong and sturdy. Nothing fancy - just reilable.
