Q: 9. does this plate charge the battery?

A: The plate does not charge the battery, all it does is allow you to be able to mount V-mount batteries onto the Blackmagic URSA. It does have a D-Tap port for accessory power however.

Q: 10. With battery attached, the D-tap port is not powering any accessories. Any suggestions? Return?

A: I had the same issue. I just removed the V-mount plate and disconnected and reconnected to camera. Make sure that it clicks into place. Then try again. If that does not work I would suggest returning it because that D-Tap port might be defective. Hope this helps!

[0.3 lb] It took me about 2 min to install. A V-mount battery system is a must have on set. It allows for long run times without plugging in and gives you valuable D-tap outlet's for peripheral devises. One battery to change for your whole rig. A nice surprise was the D-tap port on the side of the plate. 5

[Gold Mount] batteries lock in and feel secure. pairs nicely with the ssd recorder. d tap on the side as well is a nice touch. would have also liked a usb option on the other side but for what you get, it works. 5

[Gold Mount] I’ve been happy with this plate so far. The p-tap is in a good spot to stay clear of sdi ports unlike some of the other choices for this camera. It was easy to install, just four screws. I haven’t put many hours on it yet, but it seems well made. 5
