Exhibiting improved clarity, flatness, and reduced reflectivity, this 105mm Hitech Firecrest Ultra ND 105mm 24-Stop Solar Photographyfrom Hitech Firecrest Ultra ND 105mm 24-Stop Solar Photographyis a neutral density filter providing a 24-stop reduction in exposure. This 7.2 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or longer shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Designed using inspiration from their cine Firecrest filters, these Ultra filters receive an additional lapping and polishing process during production to ensure lower reflectivity and improved clarity and sharpness.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and promote nearly flat attenuation of visible, UV, and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. This filter provides a high level of neutrality across all three spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks.

Applied to the outside of the SCHOTT Superwite glass construction is a 15-layer Firecrest multicoating, which helps to minimize reflections and flare in order to maintain truer colors and contrast. The multicoating is also scratch resistant and hydrophobic to benefit the overall durability of the filter. The filter is set within a 5.5mm-thick SuperSlim aluminum filter ring, which features front threads for stacking additional filters or attaching a lens cap.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

The Firecrest Ultra series filters exhibit greater clarity and have lower reflectivity than the original Firecrest filters. Borrowing from the range of Firecrest cine filters, the Ultra series filters undergo a secondary lapping and polishing process after the initial polishing and bonding stage. This additional step helps to ensure flatness and consistency for improved image quality.

ND 7.2 filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

This filter provides a 24-stop exposure reduction, allowing you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Attenuates infrared light, as well as visible and UV wavelengths, to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure lengths.

The 15-layer Firecrest coating has been applied directly to the outside of the filter glass by way of a vacuum-formed, hard-coated, electrolytic process. The multi-coating is water- and scratch-resistance for greater overall durability.

SCHOTT Superwite glass promotes maintained image clarity and is set within a 5.5mm-thick SuperSlim aluminum filter ring.

Q: 1. Hi there. I would like to know if filter Hoya 67mm Prond-100000 Densidad Neutra 5.0 Solar Filtro (16. Is ok for nikon P900 ???

A: Yes, the Hoya ProND-100000 Neutral Density 5.0 Solar Filter (67mm, 16.6-Stop) will work with a Nikon P900 camera.

Q: 2. Is this filter ISO certfied?

A: If by ISO certified, you mean is it certified for visual (eyeball) use - not to my knowledge. This filter is intended for photo use only. For visual observation, use a filter intended for direct visual observation of the sun. I'm using the Hoya filter on a Canon PowerShot SX50 for taking photos of the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun using the LCD viewfinder. Don't use the optical viewfinder! Safe visual solar filters are readily available and cheap.

Q: 3. Does The Hoya XPD-77ND100000 ND Filter also filter UV and IR, or does it act only on visible light?

A: It is not a UV or IR filter. It is just neutral density.

Q: 4. Can one place the 77 mm Hoya CPD-77ND100000 ND filter over a 77mm Hoya UV filter, and in so doing protect the sensor further from UV? There may be slight vignetting, but if shooting an eclipse that will not matter.

A: Yes you could do this. That way you protect the Sensor more. That shouldn't be an issue. You just might have a slight Vignette.

Q: 5. Is it safe to view the solar eclipse through this filter and the view finder on my Canon 5D Mk IV?

A: The Ice Magco Solar ND100000 ND Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring blocks 16.5 stops of light and is therefore safe for solar viewing.

Q: 6. Does it fit Sony 200-600mm lens?

A: The sony 200-600 does take a 95mm filter the Hoya 95mm ProND-100000 Neutral Density 5.0 Solar Filter (16.6 Stops) BH #HOND10000095 • MFR #XPD-95ND100000 will work on the lens

Q: 7. Can you confirm this filter can be used to film the solar eclipse? What's the total time frame?

A: The Marumi 77mm DHG ND-100000 Solid Neutral Density 5.0 Solar Eclipse Filter (16.5 Stops) is unsuitable for photographing the solar eclipse. The filter does not cut harmful IR and UV light.

Q: 8. What color will the sun appear through this filter?

A: The last Image in the Photo's of this Filter show's what the Sun looks like through this Filter.

Q: 9. Will this filter produce an image with yellow sun or white color cast sun?

A: The Hoya ProND-100000 Neutral Density 5.0 Solar Filter (82mm, 16.6-Stop) will produce a yellow/color cast not white of the Sun. One of the safest filters does produce white color. And that is, https://bhpho.to/3Q9J3n6.

Q: 10. Is this filter ISO 12312-2 certified?

A: This is the only information Hoya is publishing: https://hoyafilter.com/product/prond100000/#description

[0.365 lb] Hi,

Purchased in late 2020 for Sigma 105mm 1.4 (Nikon).

This ND filter is really good because it does not create any color cast. The ND allows me to use the lens at f1.4 without overexposing the shadows (while using my strobes). It is a great ND filter, more neutral than a few others I purchased for a 85mm 1.8.

High recommendations.
