Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It looks like this will not fit on the tubing for an Atlas mic stand? Will it fit on the upper tube extension for an OnStage mic stand?

A: i have severals mic stands and it fits all, uper and lower parts. i use it mainly to acomodate a small focusrite interface on stage. greetings!

Q: 2. will this work for samson c01u usb condenser microphone?

A: I have a Behringer C-1 that looks to be about the same size and I have no problems with it.

Q: 3. Would this flop over if you put a Shure 55SH Series II on it?

A: It will depend on the position of the arm and microphone, and how they are angled. The On-Stage DS8100 Desktop Rocker-Lug Mic Stand has weighs 3 lb. and has a 6" round base. The arm will tilt up to 40 degrees. The Shure 55SH weighs about 1.37 lb. and the stand can support the weight of the mic. I would recommend using a sandbag if you want to add additional weight onto the base for security to keep the stand from moving or prevent it from accidentally tipping if it is bumped.

Q: 4. Will this work with Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone?

A: The Rode VideoMicro does not have stand mounting capability. To mount on a stand would require a female shoe adapter and 1/4 to 5/8 thread adapter to mount on a mic stand.

Q: 5. Is there any quality advantage to this mic stand over the ones that are $10-$15 cheaper?

A: The main feature this stand has over less expensive models is a Euro-style clutch for single-handed angle adjustments.

Q: 6. What is the folded length?

A: The stand is 44-inches when folded up, but the boom portion is 82-inches. If you are looking for a more mobile option that collapses to a smaller size, you may consider the Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder (13'), BH #IMLSRH. This light stand is only 40-inches when folded up, and can be used as a mic boom, with the addition of a thread adapter, such as the Impact Female 1/4"-20 to Male 3/8"-16 Thread Adapter, BH #IMCA109.

Q: 7. What is the thread size of this stand?

A: The On-Stage SB9600 features a 5/8 threading.

Q: 8. Can you attach a Rode VideoMic NTG or would you need an adapter?

A: The On-Stage SB9600 Tripod Studio Boom Stand (B&H # ONSB9600) can accommodate the RODE VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone (B&H # ROVMNTG). However, an adapter for the RODE's 3/8"-16 female thread mount would be necessary: Auray AD-5838-B 5/8"-27 Female to 3/8"-16 Male Mic Stand Adapter, B&H # AUAD5838B (https://bhpho.to/3xyLPfm)

Q: 9. Does it come with the ball joint attachment shown in the pictures? To mount an ipad?

A: This contains the tray and mounting bracket only. The ball joint is not included.

Q: 10. What is the collapsed size?

A: The On-Stage DS7425 Tripod Desktop Stand folds up to approximately 7.5".

[1.67 lb] With this being my first mic stand bag, I don't have much of a frame of reference for comparison. However, when you consider the price of most camera gear, this is one small investment to protect your mic stands. Especially if you're the type of person who is on the go or constantly between events/venues, this mic stand bag will surely give you a much greater peace of mind that your mic stand is well protected and will arrive to the event or venue in sound, working order. The material seems to be fairly robust and while this bag is not all that padded, this is a big step up when compared to having a loose mic stand rolling around in the back of your vehicle.

[1.67 lb] I use these for easy handling of lots of my lighting gear. They hold up and make life much easier. I have one for my head shot kit and this one for a pair of 10x36 strip boxes with diffusers and grids. I have a bunch more of their SSB6500 for Cine Stands & Booms and Big Strips and 84 Umbrellas and a KSB6500 handles my headshot stool and table. In and out of my truck, on and off the cart, in and out of studio - durable and the price is right.

[1.67 lb] I use this bag for more then a microphone stand. I eliminated several bags by putting my cables, wireless mic and guitar receiver/transmitters in it. My digital mixer, laptop, iPad, and much more. I'm really happy with this purchase. O and by the way this is my second MSB6500 bag. I purchased one in May for my wife and I watched her put her mic stand, wireless mic gear, music stand, stand light, harmonizer, cables, etc in her bag and I said Wow I got to buy me one of those bags and I did. Thanks B&H for having one in stock and shipping it to me so quickly.
