[11.1 lb] I was expecting a mostly plastic product due to its low price, especially compared to the Orca quick release. But to my surprise, this is all metal. The removable stud, which costs only three bucks for additional ones, has a six-sided base so it will no turn when snapped in. What a great find. 5

[Straight Stand] I was looking for a boom stand heavy enough to hold my SM7B on stage without having to counterbalance with a sandbag. This one is perfect. Nobs are strong. Stand is steady. I did order the weighted plate that attaches to the bottom (genius) for extra security but I’m not sure it’s needed. Great value, especially at this price point. 5

[Black] It’s probably the best balanced option for quick releasing your mic from a boompole. Made using good solid materials at a mid price point. Obviously there are other cheaper options, but you won’t get this quality. Get this right away for a more efficient shoot / pack down. 5

[5/8"-27 Male] Even though my Blue Yeti microphone comes with a deluxe, heavy black anodized aluminum stand, I like this one better. The Blue Yeti mic stand is tall, and the mic blocks too much of the view of my monitor. This stand, on the other hand, is the perfect height. The bottom of my microphone is barely 2 inches above the desk. It's amazingly simple to deploy, with three legs that feel like metal, maybe steel, I'm not sure. The little footpads grip the desk nicely. If you want to mount the mic directly to the 5/8 adapter like I did, you will need to purchase a right-angle mini USB adapter, because there's not enough clearance between the bottom of the mic and the stand for a conventional mini USB plug. 5

[5/8"-27 Male] I've bought many little adapters and connectors in my 18 months of podcasting. This is the best little choice I've ever made! I use the EV RE320 with a large shock mount. Instead of a boom arm (which I found was less adjustable than I wanted and always in the way) I have it mounted to a gas spring monitor arm from WALI. This way the mic can come in low and not block my face from the camera or obstruct my view of the monitor - this is key when I'm broadcasting a live group coaching session or recording a live Zoom workshop. The only issue I had was twirling this huge heavy mic / shock mount stand each time I wanted to swap mics or move my setup. It's so bug it would bump into everything and was time consuming and awkward. Now it just securely pops on and off - love this thing!! 5
