A: I would recommend to keep all 9 ink cartridges in stock. Just to be safe. Depending on the printer model, some printers will not print if a cartridge is empty.

A: the use by date is 2 years after the manufacture date. also, I have found that the pigment inks are good for much longer, say at least 3 or 4 years.

A: This kit will not be compatible with the 3800. The Epson 3880 and 3880 share the same ink cartridges except for 2. The 3800 uses magenta (EPMCU803800) and light magenta (EPLMCU803800). The 3880 uses vivid magenta (EPSP3880VMI) and vivid light magenta (EPSP3880VLMI). We do carry a complete kit for the 3800. Here is our SKU for it: (EPCSP3800PK1).

Q: 6. I bought an Epson SureColor P800 printer in 2019 & never set it up. Am setting it up now. The ink cartridges are still in their vacuum packages, never opened. The expiration date was Dec 2021. A: Ink can change consistency over time meaning expired ink can cause the print head to get clogged. I would recommend using a fresh Epson T850 UltraChrome HD 9-Ink Cartridge Set.

Q: 7. Hi, can i ise the printer having d black mate cartridge empty? When i print i am missing some tint of black color. I dont know what to do. The cartridge are the original that came w the printer. I have used only about 10 times in 2 years

A: It should have plenty of ink in the cartridge. It may have solidified over that long of time. Remove the cartridge and shake it lightly and reinstall. Make a small test print (4 x 6 inch) to verify. If this works I'd suggest doing same to the other cartridges too. Also, run the cleaning application that the printer came with to clean nozzles. The cartridges also have a Use by date so you may have passed this date up; however, I don't think this is the problem. Good luck.

A: The Epson R3880 comes with a full set of inks. We do not carry refill inks for this printer, only genuine Epson inks, which are not refillable. All 9 ink cartridges must be installed together and with some capacity in order for the printer to be able to print.

I also bought a p800 to replace my 3880 and find that the p800 has better blacks, givers better prints, and so far, is less prone to having the ink nozzles clog than the 3880.
