Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this 5/8 or 3/8 threaded at the bottom?

A: The thread is 5/8 for standard mic stands.

Q: 2. Does this bag hold one or two base plates?

A: The Gravity Stands Transport Bag For Square Base Plate (BH #GRGBGWBLS331)is designed to safely accommodate one base plate.

Q: 3. What is this stand's max weight capacity?

A: The manufacturer has not specified the maximum weight capacity for the MS4321B, but it is capable of supporting heavier microphones. I would estimate that it could safely support a mic with accessories totaling up to approximately 4 lbs. With heavy mics it is best not have the boom arm fully extended in order to have the weight distributed more evenly for the tripod's legs.

Q: 4. Will the GMSQC1B securely hold a Rycote blimp with a shotgun mic at the end of an often-in-motion boom pole used for production sound mixing / location sound?

A: Yes you can mount a Rycote Blimp onto the Gravity GMSQC1B.

Q: 5. Is this item compatible with a boom arm?

A: The Gravity Stands MA POP 1 Pop Filter with VARI-ARM has a mounting clamp that is compatible with diameters and widths between 0.6-1.4", and could attach to a sturdy boom arm with a compatible diameter and adequate weight capacity. If not used on an arm directly, the MA POP 1 could surely be affixed to the side of a desk alongside a boom arm.

Q: 6. Will it clamp to the wider shaft of a mic stand?

A: thank you for your question. The adjustable clamp on this item will fit the larger diameter part of the mic stand.

Q: 7. Can this bag be used for an On-Stage Model MS9701 EuroBoom stand?

A: The width of the Gravity bag is 39.9" which seems like it would be too small for the On-Stage MS9701 when it's folded up since the minimum stand height is 36" and the length of the legs would make it too long to fit inside the Gravity bag. The stand will fit in the Auray Speaker Stand Bag 51" Interior (B&H # AUSB52SSB).

Q: 8. How many pounds can it hold?

A: This stand can hold a total of 110 pounds.

Q: 9. How much does this weigh?

A: The Gravity Stands Microphone Pole with Table Clamp and Boom Arm weighs 2.1 lbs (0.97 kg).

Q: 10. will this hold 6 stands with boom arms?

A: Yes, the Gravity Stands Transport Bag for Six Microphone Stands (Black) can store 6 standard boom stands.

[Plastic] Great value and much better than the KM stereo bar I upgraded from. You can lock this down in every angle so it does not move at all from where you set it and it's not hard on your fingers to unlock and reposition. I didn't notice any play in the screws but the top section where the mic attaches uses an adapter screw for the mic stand thread - I used loctite to permanently attach the mic thread adapter. If you loosen the bottom screw to move it side to side you can still spin the adapter freely to take a mic on and off, and once you tighten it in your left - right position it is locked in place. I was comparing this to some other stereo bars that cost hundreds more and am very happy I choose this instead.

[Plastic] Once getting used to the adjustment, the setup is easy without any play. I like the bigger knobs that make the tightening/loosening very easy.

[0.045 lb] This stereo bar is wider than most and provides a bit more flexibility when doing A/B mic setups. Excellent German build quality. Highly recommended.

[0.045 lb] If you want better control over mic placement on your stereo bar, you came to the right place. The scaled / graduated marks on the bar as well as the threaded mic mounts give you the option to make informed and specific choices without messing around with a protractor or ruler. And it is awfully nice the entire bar has a hinged mount, adding to even more options for an informed stereo mic placement.

This bar will serve your needs for pretty much every typical stereo mic set up, given it is wide enough to space the mics apart for omni pairs. It will not serve well for Blumlein on Mid/ Side, but okay, that is a different stereo bar.

For an omni pair, wide cardioid, cardioid or hyper-cardioid pair, you can set this stereo bar up using the scales for precise placement and then lock the pivot points down tightly so there will be no shifting once in place.

And yes, there are some other options available, but this one is made well and is price competitive. It has a lot of obvious flaws found on other stereo bars addressed simply and to great satisfaction. This stereo bar should serve you well for an entire career.

[Plastic] I have two of these and they have held up well through lots of use. Excellent bag.

[Plastic] I used to use the K&M mic stand bags, but they are made with thinner material and are clunky to deal with because of the Velcro and the dividers. These bags are super durable and super easy. Just drop the stands in, zip it up and you're done. Also keeps them separated so they stay looking good. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. 1 for Gravity stands!

[0.045 lb] This bag is a great alternative to the K&M bags I was previously using. The K&M bags started to get some pretty gnarly tears on the ends because they aren't very reinforced. I also prefer the way the stands are separated compared to the K&M bags that require you to place the stand in and then close the mic stand protective flaps with velcro. These bags are better because you just slide in the stand... not fumbling with flaps or Velcro. The only recommendation I would give to Gravity is that they should move the carrying handle back about 3 inches. With the stands all placed in with the bases to one side (how it's supposed to be used in my mind) the weight distribution makes them only slightly awkward to carry. Not enough to drop it to 4 stars but just thought I'd mention it in case someone from Gravity reads this.
