Q: 10. Interested in mounting these on a Benro TMA37AL. I'm not a big fan of spike feet. But are these good for outdoor situations? Will the rubber cups stay on, or do they come off easily? Sincere thanks. Joseph from the U.S.A. in thePI

A: They are great for uneven and slippery surfaces, but aren't always useful in rough, rocky terrain. The rubber cups take some effort to be forced off, so it shouldn't come off unintentionally/accidentally.

[3/8"-16] My order arrived without two of the spikes in the package, but customer service quickly rectified their mistake by sending a replacement order. B&H is the best!

[3/8"-16] I bought these feet for a Gitzo Systematic tripod. The 2016 models does not come with these spike feet with rubber caps. Only the older ones do. Spike feet are almost a necessity when working on soft ground, including indoor carpet. These seem to be an improved design and were unavailable at the time of my tripod purchase. I chose the extra long spikes instead. An inconvenience of the long spikes is that they don't have rubber caps. I assemble and disassemble the feet for the work every time they are needed, as you simply don't want to put the tripod with spike feet on into a bag. The short spike feet with caps solves the problem. The tips of these feet are actually pointier than the extra long feet. That's better for carpet actually. However, if you are in a situation where the ground is thick and soft mud, the extra long spike feet are more useful. The short spikes are just long enough for the tip of the tripod legs to stay above my home carpet. That's still when the tripod is opened to the first angle. They don't work well when the tripod legs are spread further.

[0.75 lb] As is typically of Manfrotto products, this is very well constructed and fit my Manfrotto 3006 monopod perfectly. Only issue is the cost of the item. The spiked foot also includes a very nice T-handle Philips screwdriver. This is an additional item that isn't really needed since any Phillips screwdriver would work. Therefore, the cost of the item could be lowered by not including the screwdriver since the foot is permanent and doesn't require use of a small screwdriver in the field.

[3/8"-16] Excellent firm fit to tripod. I like best the heavy rubber fitting that screws down when on hard surface, and the spike, for soft surface. . .

[Aluminum] The spikes are made from stainless steel, and the quality is top notch, as is expected from so expensive accessories, and are very easy to clean after use.

These short spikes weights only 10g each, have hollow stem, and have longer threads than long Gitzo spikes or RRS ones.

They also have round hole in its stem to simplify screwing/unscrewing, but of smaller diameter than RRS.

They work fine in soft ground, but are not as good on grass (they are just too short and may pop up from soil if the load is small, the grass is very dense and the soil is soft).

The rubber feet are interchangeable between all Gitzo spikes, short and long. Rubber feet sit tight, and will not fall off. I would use 30mm feet with Traveler, and 38mm - with Systematic.

It would be nice if these short spikes were supplied with at least one spacer - the spacers provided with long spikes fit them nicely (but their main idea is to reduce weight as much as possible I guess).

I uploaded images of the spike, including those where it is mounted on Gitzo GM4552L monopod.

[0.75 lb] This should prove very useful to have when shooting landscapes in terrain needing a wider footplate and/or secured with a spike. Haven't yet flown with it in my checked luggage, but I suspect their image on x-ray will lead to hands-on inspection before being placed in the luggage compartment. I plan on placing them in a transparent bag to facilitate any security searches.

[0.75 lb] Rubber feet are usually needed indoors and sometimes on rock, while the spikes are generally better outdoors on soils. This set gives me better flexibility than the stock paws.

[Aluminum] Product as advertised, very solid and well made. First package was missing a piece (first time in ~20 orders) and B&H fixed it right away without an issue. As an international customer returns can be lengthy and expensive. B+H made it easy.

[Aluminum] Can adjust retractable spiked foot for sensitive floors such as vinyl, or extend the spike for slippery rocks.
