Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello. I want to use this transmitter with a Sennheiser XS receiver (EM-XSW1. This will be for an event in a fairly large venue (an ice rink). Will this combination have enough range? Will it cover the distance without adding static or white noise? Thanks.

A: The Sennheiser SK-XSW-A Bodypack Transmitter and EM-XSW1 Wireless Receiver can operate within a maximum range of up to approximately 200 to 250 feet line of sight. With the EM-XSW2 Wireless Receiver which has external antennas you can get a bit more distance.

Q: 2. I own one but the spring in back of it broke, Can I get a replacement ??

A: BH #SE543660 is the appropriate replacement belt clip for the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 3. How much difference does 30mw vs 50 mw have on reliability, reception and range?

A: Every milliwat may count when tolerances are very close. It sometimes can be a game of inches.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver? Or is it only compatible with the EM 100?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (A1: 470 to 516 MHz) would work with the Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver. Just make sure that the frequency range of the transmitter matches that of the receiver.

Q: 5. Can I detach the antennas and put a half wave length antenna on my sound bag?

A: No. The antenna for the Sennheiser EW-D SK Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter is not swappable for an external antenna.

Q: 6. Will the Sennheiser 100 4. Work with my older Sennheiser receivers? I have eg 100 and an eg 100 2. Currently having issues with both transmitters. One comes on and will not work. The other one works great while on. As soon as we turn the transmitter off, our soundsystem makes a horrible sound and I have to mute the whole system. This happened today at the end of our church service during alter call. The worse time possible for it to start popping and crackling at top volumes. It may be interference, I don’t know. But it has to be fixed. Your help would be appreciated James

A: Sennheiser's G4 series components are backwards compatible for use with the older Sennheiser G1, G2 and G3 series components. Be sure to select G4 components on the same frequency band as your older components for compatibility. Regarding the noise, you may be able to resolve the issue with popping and crackling noises when you switch off the transmitter by adjusting the squelch threshold setting on the receiver. It may be set too low or may be turned off. Squelch eliminates the noise that occurs when the transmitter is switched off and also suppresses sudden noise when the receiver is no longer receiving sufficient signal from transmitter. With the transmitter switched off, try adjusting the squelch threshold on the receiver between 5 to 20 dB (start at 5 dB first and increase it only if needed). Use the lowest possible setting that suppresses the unwanted noise. I hope this information helps! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like further assistance.

Q: 7. Is the G4 (470-558MHz) compatible with an Ek100 G3 receiver (516-558MHz)?

A: Hi Brite - the two series are absolutely compatible as long as they are in the same range. As the AW+ range (470-448 MHz) transmitter extends beyond the lower frequencies of the A range EK 100 G3, you won't get the full benefit the transmitter is capable of for tuning, but you'll be able to scan with your EK 100 G3 and sync to the new SK 300 G4. Please note that the frequency presets will be different, though this isn't an issue when it comes to scan/sync capabilities.

Q: 8. Hi there. Will this unit supply 48 V phantom power to a shotgun mic? Cheers

A: Hi Marc - the SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter doesn’t supply 48V phantom power, however, the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter does. If you’re working with a shotgun microphone that can be powered via battery or phantom powers - such as the MKE 600 - you could also use the SKP 100 G4 plug-on transmitter as a more cost effective solution. Alternately, a CM 1 XLR Female to 3.5mm locking connector adapter cable can also be used with the MKE 600 to connect it to a bodypack transmitter. For +48V phantom power, you’ll want to be looking at the 500 Series (EW 500 G4 BOOM, EW 500 G4 FILM or SKP 500 G4).

Q: 9. I need to replace an AVX transmitter, will this pair with any AVX receiver?

A: Yes, this Sennheiser SK AVX Bodypack Transmitter is compatible for use with Sennheiser EKP AVX Receivers.

Q: 10. Can the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 transmit to multiple 100 g4 receiverers on the same frequency. one transmitter to 2 - receivers?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter can simultaneously transmit audio to multiple EW 100 G4 Series Wireless Receivers that are tuned to the same frequency.

[Battery] The antennas on my G2 set was getting a little pathetic looking, so I did a quick search on how to replace them, found these and ordered. They are so easy to replace! My only issue was some battery acid buildup had caked one of the screws down on the mainboard. I had to finagle it, but it worked just fine. Between the battery acid and the antennas, Ive brought this set back to life.

[<0.9 %] They're solid. They don't feel cheap. of course, they're not. I'm usinf these with the ME 2ii lav mics and the
Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver and I'm very happy. One button synch to the receiver. I like the mute switch on top AND the battery display is nice.

[IR] If you know how to solder, it will be easy to install. The whole process took about 15 minutes. Just make sure you have the right screwdriver.

It is nice to have a beltpack that isn't wrapped in electrical tape due to a busted antenna. This was a very affordable way to restore our equipment.

[Auto-Scan] Needed an easy fix for my antenna and here it is! The placement within the receiver was a little tight... for big hands. But it worked out!
