The medium, beige DPA 4066 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone Mini Jack Beigefrom DPA 4066 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone Mini Jack Beigeis designed for theater and broadcast applications. The previous Legacy 4066 omnidirectional headset mic is known for working across a wide dynamic range as well as exhibiting low distortion across all SPLs. However, the Core 4066 microphone delivers a 14 dB increase in both THD (total harmonic distortion) and dynamic range, which improves clarity and openness more than the Legacy model.

The Core 4066 features a double vent protection system that works in tandem with a drop stopper and water-resistant materials in the mic, which help prevent damage from humidity. High- and soft-boost grids, along with five foam windscreens, are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this microphone fits the PDWM4400 transmitter? One of the headset microphone comes with the PDWM4400 did not work. If it does not work, can you suggest one similar to this headworn microphone for PDWM4400 transmitter?

A: Yes the Pyle Pro PMHM2 will work with the Pyle Pro PDWM 4400.

Q: 2. Does this PMHM2 works with PDWM8900 or similar system?

A: Yes the Pyle Pro PMHM2 will work with the Pyle Pro PDWM8900. They both have 3.5mm and connectors.

Q: 3. Just purchased the PMHMS20 headset mic. Have been unable to use so far due to the fact of the 4 pin mini-xlr. What adapter do I need to purchase to make this mic compatible w/ standard XLR?

A: You need the Laird Digital Cinema Premium 3-Pin Standard XLR Male to TA3M 3-Pin Mini XLR Male Audio Adapter B&H # LARD1XMTA3M MFR # RD1-XMTA3M which B&H has for under $5, and the device you plug into needs phantom power

Q: 4. Does this mic require phantom power?

A: It is not a dynamic mic. It is an electret condensor needs a small voltage. When used with a wireless transmitter they provide the small electrical booster needed to power the mic. If you want to use it with a mixer that has xlr jacks you need to turn in phantom power and use an adapter such as the Ride VXLR Pro that can take in 48v phantom power from the mixer and deliver the smaller voltage needed by the mic.

Q: 5. What adapter to get this TA4F to MXLR?

A: This mic is specifically wired for wireless transmitter that uses a TA4 connection, and provides plug- in power at about 5 volts. In order to connect it to a XLR, you would also need an adapter that can convert plug in power to accept 48-volt phantom power from an XLR source. Voice Technologies VT1126 48V Phantom Power Adapter for Wireless Lavalier Microphones (TA4 to XLR), BH #VOVT0137 would be an appropriate adapter for this purpose.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Sony UTX-B2?

A: Yes, we use 2 of these on our UTX-B2 transmitters after our talent destroyed the original mics that came with them.

Q: 7. Can I plug this mic into a regular audio interface Mic Pre?

A: Greetings: I am researching this question myself. First of all, there are a few microphones from Shure and Audio Technica that are made to directly plug in ot XLR fittings that go into a mixer board. The unit that is by Pyle most likely will require phantom power to work, since wireless body paks provide about 9 volts for energizing the microphone. A possible risk point with a direct connection is that phantom power typically is 48 volts, far beyond the scope of what this microphone is usually fed with. This is an involved subject,

Q: 8. Hi, DPA only sells a Microdot to XLR adapter. What adapter would be compatible with this TA4F connector? I read on the DAD6001-BC XLR adapter Review page that the adapter is designed to work with the DPA Micro dot only, so I'm assuming the reverse would be true regarding the TA4F. thank you.

A: DPA Microphones DAD6010 Microdot to TA4F Adapter B&H # DPDAD6010 MFR # DAD6010 https://bhpho.to/3z49hfD Adapts DPA Mic to Wireless Transmitter For Shure Transmitters with TA4M Also for Line 6 XD-V70L & TOA WM4300 Microdot to TA4F Switchcraft Connection

Q: 9. Hi, I m wondering if this mic compitible and can be used for Audio Technica Pro 10 wireless system? thanks

A: This microphone has a Shure TA4F connector which is very common and popular. AT body pack uses the HIROSE HR10A-7P-4S connector. So if you want to use this Pyle Pro mic with the AT 10 PRO bodypack you will need an adapter converter cable. The only company that I know that sells such a cable is in England called micronic. The adapter cable is expensive. Alternatively, I have been told AT will install the HIROSE connector to any microphone you send them for $30 per microphone. I think purchasing an adapter cable is the best solution. But I have not tried this idea and so I can not guarantee this will work. I hope this helps

Q: 10. is the TA4F connector a Shure connector, or will I need to swap it out?

A: Yes, the connection on the DPA Microphones Core 4066 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone with TA4F Connector is compatible for use with Shure transmitters implementing a 4-Pin TA4M input connection.

[Omnidirectional] Excellent mount for securing against clothing noise. Add some moleskin and these reduced clothing noise issues from fidgety subjects. Pricey but recommended to have a couple in your kit for tough situations.

[Omnidirectional] We use these for the kids musicals and they work great. We've even used these for speakers and it works for most speakers. For most ears, it will be hard to tell the difference between these and some more expensive microphones.

[Beige] These mics are some of the most natural sounding microphones I've heard. They have a super flat frequency response - the flattest of any consumer or professional mic I've seen, except for measuring microphones. The tiny diameter of the mic (about 1/4 in) makes for excellent off-axis high end response. It's difficult to hear much difference in sound quality, whether you're on axis, or 90 deg off axis to the mic. This should make them great for small venues up close with no proximity effect, or for large auditoriums at further distances to the sound source. Of-course, the downside is the relatively high noise level - 23 dBA. I've played around with these mics in a living room environment and a smaller bedroom set up as a sound room, recording music from loudspeakers. So far, I've not noticed the noise level, or at least it hasn't become apparent above the room noise, which was relatively quiet. Recording music from my ESS Hiel Tower loudspeakers equalized for flat response over the range of my one octave analyser (31.5 Hz - 16 KHz), they sounded absolutely phenomenal. Deep, rich, clean bass up through the smooth highs, these mics are great. I look forward to recording some live music with them.

[Beige] This is by far the cleanest sounding, extremely low noise omnidirectional mic I've owned. I absolutely love listening to the results of my recordings as I always get beautiful results. Also, they very require very little to no audio editing/treatment before I render my tracks. As of now I've owned the 2006c(stereo pair)for 4 months and I have no complaints thus far.
