The beige DPA 4288 Directional Flex Headset Mic, 120mm Boom, Beigefrom DPA 4288 Directional Flex Headset Mic, 120mm Boom, Beigecombines the sound of the 4088 directional capsule and Core amplifier in a lightweight and flexible two-ear headset. It can be used when miking needs to be fast and easy, and where the person wearing the microphone will barely feel the presence of it; such as in conference, speech, and active live performance applications.

The cardioid polar-patterned Core 4288 offers a 4 dB increase in dynamic range and a 14 dB decrease in THD (total harmonic distortion) over the Legacy version and is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably. It easily adjusts to fit any ear size and head shape, while at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. In addition, the connector splits the cable from the microphone boom allowing you to swap broken cables and/or transmitter connectors quickly. Finally, it includes a makeup cover, four windscreens, and a pop screen.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?

A: Hello Kurt, as long as you have a standard TRRS 1/8" input to the Note 8 this should work fine. Be careful not to block too much of the input with a third party case.

Q: 2. Does this have a ptt button? If so, where is it?

A: The Motorola IXTN4011 Single-Ear Headset with Boom Mic does not have a Push-To-Talk button.

Q: 3. Would this mic work for iphone 7 plus?

A: I bought one for my iPhone 5s and it worked but there was less than a 1 decibel improvement over the phone by itself In my opinion it was not worth my investment. I don't even use it.

Q: 4. Can I use this with my smartphone (galaxy s5) as a hands free device for the car? The phone is already paired with a fm Bluetooth device.

A: This mic plugs into the earphone jack, and once plugged in I would expect to get no sound from the phone as the phone will think that you are using earphones. I would suggest either asking Rode or you phone provider.

Q: 5. is this compatible with ipads?

A: Depending on the version you may need an adapter. This headset uses a 3.5mm plug.

Q: 6. Could the flex mount be removed to mount on cameras instead of phones? If not, would there be any downside to cutting off the flex mount so it could fit?

A: Hi Caleb, no the VideoMic Me won't connect direct to cameras as the connection is a TRRS plug designed for smart phones. The VideoMicro is essentially the same microphone but designed to sit on-camera. a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html/a

Q: 7. I understand the VideoMic Me is designed for devices where the camera is on the opposite side from the audio input jack. I have a Galaxy S5 (which has them on the same side) - would it be possible to make it work if (hypothetically) I could find a short TRRS extension cable?

A: By using a cable you will still be feeding audio into your smartphone but keep in mind the TRRS jack on the VideoMic Me is also the physical connection point that holds the mic onto the phone.

Q: 8. Is this a usb headset?

A: No it is not.. But it comes with a usb conversion plug

Q: 9. Does this come with a PC Y adapter?

A: nope, it does not.

Q: 10. Does it fit iPhone 6 when in this iPro case? a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1163493-REG/ipro_lens_by_schneider_optics_0ip_case_i60_case_for_iphone_6.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1163493-REG/ipro_lens_by_schneider_optics_0ip_case_i60_case_for_iphone_6.html/a

[0.53 lb] A great headset for noisy environments. Extremely comfortable being worn for long durations. More durable than many less expensive headsets.

[Beige] I use this for reference monitoring in a production sound environment. The mic serves as talkback to my boom op. I am so used to the sound of the 7506 phones that I don't really feel the need to experiment with anything else for this application. However, I do find that the phones get a little tired after a few years with loss of low end. I think that I held out longer to replace these than I do with my normal, unmodded Sonys...entirely due to the price. Also, one has to use this either with the Remote audio coms system or purchase the xlr/.25ins termination. I am very glad that I did buy them now, the quality is very good.

[Cardioid] i am a semi-retired, professional sports camera operator, out of the boston/hartford market. i have done over 2000 shows of varying levels. little league, to the world series and stanley cup. i was at low third for 20 years at fenway, and right handheld at the bruins for the same. i quit the bruins about 5 years ago, when i could no longer stand the noise level (PA generated) at TD Garden. and it's not just there. small arenas like Quinnipiac, Holy Cross, etc. seem to think loud equals exciting, thus, louder equals more exciting. one day at providence college, the truck happened to have these heads sets. i loved them immediately, as the noise cancelling was fantastic. they sound good too. both to me, and to others when i speak. i asked a techno-geek where i could get a pair. he sent me a link. my husband saw the link, and got me them for christmas. 2 shows in...maybe I'll unretire

[0.53 lb] It’s hard to find many reviews of headset mics, but I have to say that all the positive things I heard about the DPA d:fine line are true. The 4188 sounds amazing and especially compared the Crown CM311 and the cheaper Shure WH20 models I’ve owned. The CM311 was so uncomfortable and cumbersome and I could never dial in my sound to get close to studio quality. This is the first time I’ve actually been happy with the sound and feels like it rivals my studio mics. Love the light weight and inconspicuous appearance. I got the 120mm boom and was worried about the length but it turned out to be perfect for getting the mic to the corner of my mouth.
