Designed to support the Sony FS7 and other camcorders, the CAME-TV Sliding Baseplate System for Sony FS7 15mm Rodsfrom CAME-TV Sliding Baseplate System for Sony FS7 15mm Rodsincludes a dovetail plate with 15mm rod clamps, a sliding balance plate, and a 12" pair of 15mm rods. This mounting system enables you to easily rebalance your camera on a tripod after switching lenses, or adding/removing accessories. The baseplate incorporates 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded holes for mounting to a tripod or other support, and the balance plate includes screws in both sizes for attaching to your camera.

A: Yes you can. While it is customized to work best with the C300 the mounting screws are standard which means that it will work with just about anything.

A: Yes it can be. The cage has 1/4 -20 threads on the bottom of it which will allow it to be mounted on a tripod.

A: The CAME-TV Slider Support Rods (Pair) (B&H# CASROD2) provides fixed (i.e., non moving) support for a slider on either side of a tripod. In contrast, the specific design of the edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 Long (B&H# ED81204) (and those of other similar SliderPLUS products from edelkrone) requires it to move not only the carriage on top of the slider but also the rails of the slider itself from side to side. Since attaching the CAME-TV Slider Support Rods to it would make that movement impossible, we would not consider the two products to be compatible.

Q: 10. Does this block the battery compartment?

A: I use a Panasonic GH3 and I have to loosen the screw and remove it to access the battery compartment.

[1.77 lb] While the FS5 is a great camera its weak point is the lens mount. Particularly when using either cinema style lenses or larger E mount lenses, this unit is a must. Without it you run the risk of having the weight of the lens cracking the mount off the camera front. The bigger lenses need added support from a rail system to get the stress off the lens mount. Understand that even with the lens properly supported you have to be careful . I never transport the FS5 with a lens attached. I have read of horror stories where owners have done this only to find when they took the camera out of their bags the lens fractured the lens mount off the camera front. And yes, Sony will not fix this damage so you have $5600 of junk on your hands. Buy this unit and properly support the lens to the camera. Small investment to make given the price of the camera body 5

[Sony PXW-FS7] For the money it’s hard to beat. Baseplate is sturdy and rods that come with it are adequate. My main use is for mounting a follow focus and lens support. It’s also relatively light weigh and has minimal bulk so hand hold and run & gun can still be done. 5

[Sony PXW-FS7] This support system was very inexpensive, but works very well. The slider is a longer slider and didn't work with a single tripod. We should have bought supports earlier as we were using a stand at each end. The single tripod with supports is a lot more stable and much easier to adjust and move. Our system is lightweight, but the supports seem capable of handling heavier cameras based on build quality. 5

[Sony PXW-FS7] Tried using two tripods or rolling cstands but this may be a much better option. one rolling cstand or tripod with these arms seems even more stable and easier to move around while on set. Clamp arm does fit the bottom of a cstand. 5
