Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this light heat resistant enough to withstand continuous light from a daylight rated fresnel light?

A: No, it will melt.

Q: 2. How long is the strap? Can you sling across your body. How long is the strap?

A: The strap of the OverBoard Waterproof Dry Tube Bag, (5L, Black) is adjustable up to about 46"; a small person could sling it across their body.

Q: 3. What is the tungsten equivalent output? Is it powerful enough as a key light for stills photography?

A: The actual measured tungsten equivalent is about the same as 400W fresnel light. To put this into perspective it means when compared to common 300W fixtures the Practilite602 is little bit more powerful. For example common tungsten fresnel @ 300W outputs 2500lx in flood and 6500lx in spot whereas Practilite602 outputs 3100lx and 10000lx, not to mention it outputs about 15000lx in Boost Mode @ 4500K.If it is enough as a key light it depends on the subject matter, the scene and of course on the sensitivity you are willing to use: the smaller the scene the more light will you have, as for normal portraiture it will do fine but remember if you add a softbox/chimera you will lose half the light output which can be compensated by moving the light closer to the subject, if possible. As this light is focusable you are able to direct and shape the light without any additional modifiers.

Q: 4. According to spec Practilite 602 is compatible with Profoto speedring, but what size softbox should i choose?

A: The Profoto OCF series modifiers are an ideal size for the Practilite 602 Smart LED Fresnel. With that said, the largest size you could use is the Profoto OCF Softbox (2x3') B&H # PROCFSB23. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 5. Do these have a place to mount an umbrella? If not, what would be an optimal solution?

A: No.

Q: 6. what is the size of the bag?

A: 11 W x 16 L

Q: 7. Do you need a tool to remove the barn doors? I would want to attach the Angler speed ring/Profoto for a softbox.

A: No, very easy to remove.

Q: 8. Does anyone know if this bag can hold a NIKON D90 or 7000 with a battery pack and a 80-200 mm zoom safely?

A: The OverBoard Waterproof Dry Tube Bag does not have any padding inside. This bag cannot safely transport a camera. The OverBoard Pro-Sports Waterproof SLR Camera Bag is padded and is designed to safely hold DSLR cameras systems. It is large enough to hold the the D90, or D7000 with battery grip and the Nikon 80-200mm lens

Q: 9. Would this be suitable for use in a dark room?

A: The Rosco Roscolux #26 Light Red Sheet (20x24") is not made to filter daylight to work with darkroom film or paper.

Q: 10. How does the output of this light compare with the aperture 120d?

A: Spotted down this lights Fresnel lens will give it a higher output. Overall the 120D has more total light output. The 120D is 6000k. This light is Bicolor from 3000-6000k.
