The Kawai MP11SE Stage Piano for Pianistsfrom Kawai MP11SE Stage Piano for Pianistsis an 88-key digital piano featuring a graded-hammer-action keyboard with synthetic ivory keytops, designed to emulate the feel of an acoustic piano. It can be used in several environments with its authentic tine, reed, and modern electric pianos, crunchy clavs, and natural electric grands for professional musical applications.

Each key is painstakingly recorded, analyzed, and reproduced as a digital waveform and preserves the harmonic character of the EX concert grand piano sound. The MP11SE's wooden keys deliver a faithful representation of the original acoustic source, giving you the feel and touch of an acoustic grand piano experience.

This stage piano is built with three sound categories: acoustic pianos, electric pianos, and subsidiary sounds that are organized as independent sections. In addition, the effect section is equipped with reverbs, resonances, and effects. Each sound section has a hardware volume fader, which simplifies the creation of layers, splits, and key ranges, while preventing effects and other settings applied to one section from accidentally influencing another.

Furthermore, premium quality strings and soothing pads are available and suited for layering, while the rich electric and acoustic bass sounds work nicely with left-hand splits. A choice selection of harpsichord and mallet voices completes the line-up, for those occasions that require that specific sound.

Finally, the MP11SE is built with a sturdy metal chassis and wooden side arms. It is designed with 1/4" and XLR outputs, 1/4" inputs, and features 4-channel MIDI master control functions. A GFP-3 triple pedal unit is also included. The MP11SE has everything you need—a realistic acoustic sound, authentic other sounds, and articulate control for music professionals who do not accept compromise.

Concert, jazz, and pop grand pianos, and a full-bodied traditional upright

A collection of authentic tine, reed, and modern electric pianos, crunchy clavs, and an electric grand.

Studio-quality strings, pads, basses, and other essential sounds for creating splits, layering with acoustic pianos and EPs, or playing solo.

Large graphic LCD display, four assignable real-time control knobs, and a well-organized, usable panel interface. Leave the manual at home and concentrate on playing, rather than trying to remember which button does what.

A keyboard action for serious pianists crafted entirely from wood. Grand Feel delivers an authentic playing experience.

Connect to Windows or Mac via USB, and to your favorite semi-weighted boards via standard MIDI, then control both simultaneously. The MP11SE allows up to four MIDI channels to be controlled at the same time, each with its own custom key ranges and user-definable pedal and knob CC# assignments.

Store and recall every customized sound, knob position, fader level, and adjustable parameter at the touch of a button. With over 200 setup memories, the MP11SE is suitable for busy stage musicians who like to plan several shows ahead, before going out on the road.

Connect directly to the house PA using XLR cables, and to personal monitors with the high-quality line out jacks. Enjoy realistic damper, sostenuto, and soft playing control by connecting the included Kawai GFP-3 triple pedal unit, or assign a range of alternative functions to individual pedals.

The finished wooden side panels, sleek gloss-black paintwork, and raised fallboard displaying the Kawai family name give the MP11SE a distinctly acoustic presence. Its sturdy aluminum and steel chassis (and reinforced base) reassures players that this instrument is built for the stage.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the F- 20 pedal compatible with a Kawai ES3 Digital Piano?

A: Unfortunately the the F-20 pedal is not compatible with your Kawai ES3 Digital Piano. The correct pedal for the Kawai ES3 Digital Piano would be the F-2r pedal.

Q: 2. How would you connect a pair of external powered speakers for stereo?

A: You can connect external powered speakers to the Kawai ES920 Digital Piano by using either the 3.5mm TRS headphone jack or the 1/4" TRS line output and using a stereo Y-cable with the appropriate connectors for the input on your speakers. If needed, you can certainly use adapters to enable compatibility. Connecting external speakers to the headphone jack will bypass the keyboard's built-in speakers.

Q: 3. Could this be compatible with a Yamaha P121?

A: I'm sorry, but the Kawai F20 double pedal will not work together with a Yamaha P121. Instead, I would recommend considering options like these, which would be compatible with the P121: 3-pedal unit, with stand (both products are required, to use these pedals): https://bhpho.to/3FmL3je https://bhpho.to/3I6onp4 Universal single pedal: https://bhpho.to/3zWAYIG

Q: 4. Is there a weight limit rating for this bench? If so, what is it?

A: The Kawai WB-10 Padded Piano Bench (Black), B&H # KAWB10SB, is not weight limit-rated.

Q: 5. Does it have a music rack/stand?

A: No it does not.

Q: 6. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE KDP 120 AND THE KDP 75 BESIDES PRICE?

A: The KDP 120 has louder, bigger speakers and "tripple sensor key detection" "The accurate 3-sensor technology provides a smooth, natural, and highly responsive piano-playing experience. The added third sensor improves responsiveness when playing the same key repeatedly. Kawai’s action technology also monitors the speed at which each key is lifted, influencing the release character of piano sounds and providing a greater range of expression between staccato and legato playing."

Q: 7. Can you record from it to a computer via the usb port? What are your options for recording from it?

A: Yes. By using a MIDI cable to connect devices that have MIDI connectors, you can create an ensemble in which a single MIDI keyboard can play multiple instruments, or change settings automatically as the song progresses. MIDI OUT connector MIDI messages are transmitted from these connectors to external MIDI devices. The RD-88’s MIDI OUT connectors are used for sending the performance data of the controller section 1 x USB Type-B (Computer Transfer, MIDI)

Q: 8. With appropriate plug adapter — can this keyboard automatically run on German outlet voltage? Or do you need a power converter?

A: According to the manual for the Kawai ES120 88-Key Portable Digital Piano (Stylish Black), you can use the Kawai PS-129 Power Supply for compatibility in Germany.

[61 x 24 x 11"] The Kawai VPC1 has completely realistic piano action, with full length keys, Graded hammer weighting + counterweights
triple-sensor key detection, let-off simulation (allowing for the keys to be rapidly re-pressed before the key returns to fully up). The triple sensors add to accurate dynamic control while using virtual pianos such as Pianoteq. The stand included in this package is solid, and very well built with excellent fit and finish. Highly recommended!

[Monochrome LCD] The Vpc1 is the best midi controller on the market. As per my research from other reviews on various piano sites, the included foot pedal really is garbage. Out of the box, it has a flutter which is visible in my daw and is audible. Shame on Kawai for not changing this pedal for all the years they have been selling the Vpc1. Many reviewers went through the process of returning the foot pedal and getting a new one only to find after a couple of weeks the noise and flutter was back. Mine is already on the closet shelf and my Roland rp 3 pedal arrives tomorrow along with a purchase of a Midi Expression iO to compliment the new pedal with the Vpc1. So if you buy the Vpc1, just know you may need to spend another $300 for the perfect setup.

[Monochrome LCD] This is a top of the line keyboard. Most every review you read or hear tells you it feels and acts just like an acoustic piano. Well that is totally true. I'm using this in my Studio for the purpose of rehearsal and recording. I connected it to a Mac laptop. Found out after the VPC-1 arrived that to get quality audio you need a USB to audio converter. So I got a Focusrite unit that does a fantastic job. You plug the USB out of your laptop (or computer) into the converter and you get stereo audio that you can send to a mixer of amp.

[One Touch] Not sure what the hidden agenda Kyle has as none of his review is true.
Sound is fantastic with the speakers able to deliver the highest notes of the piano with detail but no harshness.
The action feels amazing and it is a highly regarded one as well by experts not just me.
Do yourself a favor and ignore Kyle's review as it looks rather suspicous.

[90,000 Notes] No complaints so far other than weight. It sounds wonderful and feels almost like a real piano.

[90,000 Notes] I actually needed new pedals for an older Kawai CN32 piano, and this fit the bill perfectly at a great price to perform the repair, which was a hardware swap of the pedal component. Plug and play, works perfect!

[Monochrome LCD] Very convincing feel. Heavy, but to my mind that is a good trade off considering how much like a real piano this plays.

[61 x 24 x 11"] I don't usually write reviews but wanted to add one here about this specific bundle. Before ordering, I was skeptical of the stand that comes with it. With something like the VPC1 you don't want a flimsy stand. But looking at the pictures, it seemed to be identical to the K&M Omega, which is $200 and one of the most highly regarded keyboard stands on the market. I took a chance and placed the order. Sure enough, on the shipping notice I could tell the manufacturer was K&M. Now that it's sitting peacefully in my house, I can verify that it is indeed the K&M Omega. So yeah, for $60 more than the standalone VPC1, you get a $200 stand that is absolutely top-notch. As for the bench and the pedals ... BH should just chuck the pedals from the bundle because the Kawai comes with pedals. The bench is fine. Basic, but fine. Really, this is just one of the better values I've come across and I'm still kind of blown away. Thanks, BH. Oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well comment on the VPC1 itself. I bought it blind because I couldn't find one in a store to sample. I haven't played too many high-end digital pianos, but I can tell you, in the little bit I've played it today, this keyboard is lights-out phenomenal. I've never played a better digital keyboard. Bummer now is it's time invest in some better virtual pianos, like the Ravenscroft.
