LaCie's 1TB Rugged USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive is compatible with Windows 7 and later and macOS 10.12 and later, but should also work on earlier versions of macOS, such as 10.9 and 10.11. It is powered using the USB bus, meaning that no external power adapters are required for use. Included is a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 cable, and two years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Services. General protection is provided by a limited 2-year warranty.

[1 TB] ...because they are the best, most reliable hard drives. I specifically like that they are good for both storage and working (video editing). Though of course I prefer to work from an SSD, I use these drives religiously for storage and will occasionally work from them if I need to. Never had an issue with them. 5

[0.8 lb] The hard-drive itself isn't rugged but has a rubber enclosure to protect it, presumably from drops of a few feet. I wouldn't huck it out the window of a moving vehicle, but I'm not sure your external drive needs that level of durability. What you're getting here is a solid, sensible, functional increase in your storage space at a reasonable price. I am using it to store large (7gb) photoshop working files so that my MacBook doesn't get bogged down. Working well so far... 5
