Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this negative pocket fit in a 4 x 5 film box?

A: The Print File Negative Pocket (4 x 5", 100 Pack) is 5.25 x 5.19 inches so it would not fit into a cardboard box such as the ones that ship with Kodak 4x5 films.

Q: 2. Is this product VC (Vivid color) or NC (Natural color)? Can't find that info in the product photos or specs. Thanks!

A: kodak discontinued vc and nc portra films and now makes a neutral portra. in the end, if you're just going to be scanning it you could achieve the effect of either by raising or lowering saturation and tweaking curves.

Q: 3. some one told me that this Portra 160 color film last longer if stored in refrigerator, is this factual?

A: Refrigerating camera films reduces the photographic effects of long-term storage, but refrigeration cannot reduce the effects of ambient gamma radiation. Naturally occurring gamma radiation increases the D-min and toe densities and also increases grain. Higher speed films are affected more by gamma radiation than lower speed films. If you must store film, a relative humidity (RH) of 50% is recommended by Kodak. For general storage, it is advised to store film at temperatures of 50 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. For more than six months of storage, it is advised to store film at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. If you do freeze your film, allow your film to come up to room temperature prior to loading it in your camera.

Q: 4. Can this sleeve be used when making contact prints from 4x5 negatives? Will the flap show up in the print?

A: Yes, the Print File 4 x 5 Polypropylene FoldFlap Sleeves (50-Pack) B&H # PRFF24M45PL will work for contact prints.

Q: 5. I have an original vintage Diana-F with the red window centered and at the bottom edge of the back of the camera. I just installed Kodak Portra 400, and I never saw any frame numbers in the red window. Help! Are the numbers not in the right place on Kodak film? Can I assume they are in the right place on Lomo film? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated so I can stop wasting money buying film that doesnt work. Thanks!

A: If you have the original (as opposed to the lomography remake), it might be a different story....and I am a complete newb & could be totally wrong here... but I think if you change it in the back from 12 to 16 (or vice versa) that may solve your problem? At least thats how I went about it. My pictures did turn out all wonky with overlapping frames however (but in a cool way that I loved and would attempt to do again haha). I did see the numbers though!

Q: 6. Which binder from B&H can these sleeves fit in?

A: The Adox ADOFILE 120 Negative Sleeves can work with many binders. This some of many, https://bhpho.to/48KBBWR

Q: 7. Does the box include 35mm negative sleeves and numbered dividers similar to the old Negafile boxes?

A: The Print File NFF35-120 Negative File Folders, BH # PRB33120NSE are not included with the NSB35-120 Storage Box. https://bhpho.to/3Be5nD1

Q: 8. Would it work for Kodak brownie starlet camera? 127mm. I look at more there is adapter for 120mm. But, it's is small box camera that might fit 120mm.. never done it before.. wounding if is possible.. thanks

A: 120 can be used on cameras that take 117 or 620 film by winding the film onto the appropriate spool. 127 film is approximately 2/3 the width of 120 and would need to be cut down and respooled. I am not familiar with the Kodak Starlet however.

Q: 9. Does it work for both 35mm and 120 film?

A: Yes, the Archival Methods Negative File Folders (50-Pack, 3 x 6.25") will fit 35mm and 120mm films.

Q: 10. Will sleeved negatives fit back into the 4x5 film box?

A: When using the Print File 4 x 5 Polypropylene FoldFlap Sleeves, you can put the sleeved film back into a 4 x 5" film box (such as a Kodak Tri-X 4 x 5" box). Please note that it will curl up slightly on the side, but it will not damage the film.

[50] I searched through the options for storing negatives and found mostly binders that would have me cutting and resleeving all or most of my negatives. So when I stumbled on these boxes and the folders they hold, I jumped! They are perfect for my needs. Allow me to quickly sort negatives into folders by date or session without resleeving them at all. Very happy with this purchase and recommending to all of my film friends!

[Folder Stock] I'd looked for these sleeves for K120 format film at many different sites. Was glad to see B&H had polypro versions that were in stock, at a lower price than any of the other retailers, and which shipped quickly. The sleeves themselves are good quality: not too flimsy and they fold-lock easily. Each sleeve holds four 2.25x2.25 inch exposures (more if the images are 6x4; fewer if the images are 6x9).

[10 pt] I had run out of my previous stock of these, and their associated components, and was pleased B&H had them.
They hold the sleeves which contain a strip of six frames. These are then labelled and put into a compact storage box.
The alternative to this system are the pages into which the strip of six frames have to be slid, and then placed in a binder.
I prefer this system as its more compact, and there is no sliding of a film strip into a plastic slot.

[10 pt] The file folders and also the sleeves that are used with them are the perfect solution for my "keeper" negatives. I also use the archival boxes to keep both sleeves and folders in order.

[Folder Stock] B&H has been excellent in having the products that are first-class. The shipping and delivery of what has been ordered has been at least a day earlier than what is earlier than what shows up when ordering. B&H is our first choice and they have yet to ever disappointed us.
