The Miller CX2 Fluid Head for Smooth Camera Movementis designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 17.5 pounds, suitable for a DSLR or mirrorless camera rig, a smaller cinema camera, or a small ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX2 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX2 will perform reliably. The base of the CX2 is a 75 ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX2 in dark environments. A pan handle with a 15.4" fixed length is included and a second rosette is incorporated for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Q: 4. Does anyone have any experience using this head with lighter cameras like a GH5 or Blackmagic Pocket Cam? How does the counterblance work at the lower end of it's settings?

A: With 16 selectable counter balance positions ( including 0 ) as well as 4 drag settings ( including 0 ) , running light weight cameras such as the GH5 or Pocket Cinema Camera do well.

Q: 5. I will be upgrading from a Benro H8. I know this head is WAY better. My main complaint with the Benro is, the maximum drag is really weak. I want heavy drag that you really have to push on so slow movements are highly controlled. Is the heaviest drag on this head really stiff?

A: Yes not only is the Miller more stiff at its maximum setting it also offers more steps in between the lightest and toughest setting.

A: Yes you can. The Miller Air Fluid Head 1042 has a removable ball level stud for flat base mounting with 3/8 screw hole. Both Gitzo tripods have a 3/8 screw available.
