Its light weight, flip-locks, and rigid construction allow for durability without compromising usability in ENG, EFP, and other pro video applications. Unlike many traditional multi-stage designs, both flip-locks are located on the same section for easy reaching, no matter the height setting. The fast setup is complemented by an in-line carry handle, for portability on set or in the field. Compatible spreaders, rubber feet, and dollys are available separately.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with a mid-level spreader and rubber feet?

A: The Miller Sprinter II 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod (Mid-Level Spreader Ready) does come with rubber feet, but not a mid-level spreader. The compatible mid-level spreader would be the Miller 993 Mid-level Spreader, BH #MI993.

Q: 2. Please let me know which Miller tripod case comes with this tripod Miller Air Carbon Fiber Tripod System B&H # MI3005 MFR # 3005I don't see a link. Also, on Miller Sticks I have a Sachtler DV6 head. I measured about 33 from the head to the feet. I'm guessing a 35 tripod case would be fine. That's why I would like ton know which Miller tripod case this is? I have the same Miller Sticks as I mentioned above. Thank you Jimmy

A: For future reference, please look under the Accessories tab for Bags & Cases. Of the seven we offer, I would suggest these based on economy to best choice to luxury. For budget: Ruggard Deluxe Padded 35 Tripod Case (Black) B&H # RUBD3035. For rugged airplane travel: SKB Roto-Molded Tripod Case with Wheels (37 Tall) B&H # SK1SKBR3709W For luxury: Porta Brace TLQB-39XT Quick Tripod/Light Case (Black) B&H # POTLQB39XT.

Q: 3. Is this suitable for canon c100 mark ii with shotgun mic, cinevate duzi v4, and canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, and yes for long term ?

A: This Tripod has a load capacity between 4.4 to 11 Pounds. The combination of items you listed will be pushing that load capacity. I recommend the Miller SOLO DV 20 instead, B&H # MIDS20SDV2, which has a load capacity up to 22 pounds. It will better be able to handle the items you listed and it is a great long term investment.https://bhpho.to/2AnvSJo

Q: 4. My camera rig is 4.9kg atm, and it’ll be a touch heavier when I have transmitters etc. will this tripod be okay for my camera setup?

A: Yes it will be. This tripod has a 22 pound or 10kg load capacity. It will work well with your set up if it is only 4.9kg.

Q: 5. Would this tripod work well with a mediumly rigged FS7 + Sony 18-110mm zoom lens?

A: This tripod has a 22 pound load capacity. It will depend on what is in your full rig, but it is certainly possible to use this with an FS7 depending on all of the other accessories you have. You will just need to keep the load at or below 22 pounds.

Q: 6. Does this tripod come with a strap? If not, does it come with the rings to attach a strap?

A: Yes, This Miller tripod kit comes with an included strap.

Q: 7. Can i take out the mid level spreader simply without any tool, is it easily removable? That would come handy if i want to go lower with the tripod

A: Yes, the following spreader can be removed and replaced.

Q: 8. Is the Miller 1580 tripod legs compatible with the Manfrotto 526 head?

A: The Manfrotto 526 has a 100mm ball base and the Miller 1580 Sprinter II has a 100mm bowl. They will match perfectly.

Q: 9. Does this tripod need an export control?

A: Outside of the normal B&H shipping restrictions found in the B&H Help Center at the top of every B&H page, there are no additional restrictions on shipping for this item.

Q: 10. Does this include a bag or case with purchase?

A: No this does not. For a tripod by Miller, I would want to have a case of equal quality. HPRC 6400TRIB Wheeled Hard Case for Tripods with Soft Interiors Kit (Black) B&H # HP6400WTRIB.

[12 lb] This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

[12 lb] Have been a long time Bogen user looking for a good lightweight versatile tripod system. After seeing the DV20 in action at a videographers convention i was sold. Its rock solid even though I was used to a mid-level spreader. My first assignment was shooting a modeling segment and I loved the fact that I could get so low to the ground with this tripod.

[100 mm Bowl] Great tripod. Light. Secure lock. Could not ask for better. Like it better than Sachlers since I hate the spreader. Used big Manfrotto's in the past. No comparison. Own a Gitzo as well, which is close to Miller but still like Miller. Will buy Miller again if I need another one.

[100 mm Bowl] I bought this a few years back to use with my Panasonic HVX200a. Works like a dream. I do a lot of short form documentary production, and this Miller is perfect. The carbon fiber construction indeed makes the unit very light. I carried it while backpacking around Western Europe for a month, and it was fantastic. Very quick to setup and breakdown. I also like how low to the ground I can get with the concentric leg angle locks. The bag is very high quality as well. All around it is a very rugid product, which is perfect for my documentary productions. Those Australians can sure make a tripod. At this price point, this Miller is your best choice.

[Carbon Fiber] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.

[100 mm Bowl] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.

[100 mm Bowl] I use this for documentary filmmaking. The head is completely smooth and well built. The legs are very stable and easy to use.
