The Telmax Futura 19" LCD Teleprompter with Monitorfeatures a reading range up to 35', and can support cameras from DSLR to full-sized ENG cameras. The Inclining Vertical Mount (IVM) camera riser provides simple and secure height adjustment that allows you to use a variety of cameras and center them in the mirror. The 70/30 beamsplitter provides good contrast and readability. The monitor accepts a VGA input, and includes a power cord and 25' long VGA cable.

The prompter consists of three components: the baseplate, the head assembly, and the IVM, speeding assembly and breakdown. You can adjust the angle of the beamsplitter glass from completely flat up to approximately 45°, and it is secured using a springless system. A small fabric hood cinches around your lens preventing light from leaking around your lens and flaring your image. A plastic mirror cover protects your collapsed mirror from dust during transport and storage. The included downloadable ZaPrompt software can be loaded on up to four computers and provides the required mirroring functionality.

The IVM (Inclining Vertical Mount) is an adjustable or fixed variable height mount that, like the name indicates, inclines toward the mirror. The reason for the incline is that most cameras get shorter as they get smaller, so as you raise the camera platform the mount gets closer to the mirror. The IVM is held on to the baseplate by a knob, which has two possible configurations. The first configuration is to place the knob in a channel, which makes it easy to remove and re-install. The second configuration is to place the knob in a fixed threaded hole that will not allow the IVM to slip off the baseplate. Using the fixed position holes is preferable over the slipping channels, as it is more secure.

The Head Assembly is the home of the Mirror, Mirror Enclosure, monitor, and mounting brackets. The FUTURA uses an optical-grade 70/30 beamsplitter mirror. The Mirror Enclosure features a pin-lock adjustment system that will allow the mirror to fold flat, making it more portable, and with very little effort allow the user to lock the mirror in the desired 45 degrees +/- position.

A: It has one VGA cable. If your laptop has a VGA port then that will work, otherwise, depending upon what ports your laptop has, you would need an adapter that would you allow you to connect the VGA cable to that port.

A: The teleprompter comes with the mount, monitor, mirror and hardware. All you need is a camera, tripod, and computer.

A: This item does not include any kind of external speed controller. Speed of text is controlled in the included software. Text speed can also be recorded and played back with variable speed.

A: The Telmax Futura 19" LCD Teleprompter with 19" LCD Monitor requires the Zaprompt software to flip the image. It is not a reversing display.

A: The brand new G2-15 has enough height adjustment, most any camera can be used with it. A DSLR should not be a problem with it.

[26 lb] I was worried that the reflective glass panel for our teleprompter would be too fragile to ship, but alas it was well secured inside of several larger boxes to protect it and it arrived in one piece. Everything arrived when it was supposed to so I would definitely order from B&H again :) 5

[26 lb] I used many different teleprompters before so I new what configuration I have to look at. But at the same time I wasn't sure that this one is comlpetely what I need. So when it came and I did firs shoot with it I realised how good it is. It made with a wery high quality matrials, good glass and this plastic hood with lens hood. The only thing I'd like to be more is monitor connections. There is only dvi-connector so you have to get adaptor for your mac. One more very important thing is software wich goes with teleprompter. I'm in love with ZApromp software. It is very convenient and have pretty all settings you usually need working with prompter. 5

[26 lb] This is the best you can buy for your money if you already have an iPad. We use this to shoot a weekly show and it meets the same need that any teleprompter should (assuming you have an iPad). As mentioned in other reviews, even with moving the iPad tray, you still lose out on about an inch of the screen, but that is easy to work with as long as you keep it in mind. Do not try and use this outside with an iPad on a sunny day. We learned that the hard way. The iPad is simply not bright enough to be seen in the reflection of the glass.The build quality is great and will work with a wide variety of cameras. 5

[26 lb] I live in New Zealand and purchased this model after internet research and speaking to various companies direct including Edward at Telmax. I am an engineer and was most impressed with the build quality of the sub frame - it is solid, rigid and quite substantial. The ZAPrompt software is deceptively simple and offers a comprehensive range of controls over mirroring, fonts and colors, scroll speeds and margin adjustments on the fly- excellent performance. This model is astonishing value for money and the Telmax company are an absolute pleasure to deal with. My endless questions were always answered immediately and courteously- they fully value and understand customer service. If you are in the market for a budget teleprompter, this model is hard to beat. 5

[Aluminum] I use this in a small studio to film instructors / experts for teaching online courses. It's perfect for the job. Sets up easily, and there's zero glare or reflection. The video quality comes out perfect. Basically, other than the talent reading the script, we don't even notice that it's there. The ZaPrompt software is great too. Simple to use and very effective for scrolling scripts. I also often just put power point or keynote on the teleprompter when a full script isn't required. Simply put - it works and I have had no issues after months of use. 5

[1x VGA Input] This unit was build right, extremely solid with metal parts. Reading from an iPad or small laptop works wonderfully. I can't say anything bad about this, the software you choose will be the one thing you need to learn and which one is best for you. If you're purchasing you'll want to consider getting a protective case mostly to protect the mirrored glass. The price? That was the primary reason I looked at this in the first place. It's about half of other units and built tougher and, in my opinion, better than others. 5

[26 lb] Works great. I use it in a very small studio, so we don't use the entire 15 of screen real estate. Eye movement tends to be too much when using it close up, so we just resize the teleprompter app window to be a little smaller on screen. Can't say anything about the software that comes with this device since we use other software instead. The one thing this lacks is the ability for the monitor to flip/mirror itself -- you have to do that in the software or operating system instead. Also, we're amateurs, just filming a video podcast, but works great for us! 5
