Q: 1. I am about to put my Rokinon Cine Primes on my Bolex H16 and shoot some Tri-X 200 asa. Has anyone tried this? Is there a calculation for setting exposure to adjust for using the c mount to eos ef Canon adapter? If no one responds I will be happy to post my results.

A: The iris on this adapter is not needed for use with manual lenses like the Rokinons. You just use the manual iris on the Rokinon lens while leaving the iris of the adapter at its widest opening. The adapters iris is meant to compensate for loss of the iris control of a Canon EOS EF lens. Now in the digital world you could just set this up and see the effect of the adapter iris immediately on screen. However, since you are shooting film, we suggest doing what a professional would do before principal photography and that would be to shoot an exposure test. (there is no available exposure calculation chart for this adapter.) Line up a shot of a person holding a grey card plus a notation of what the f/stop is that you have determined by using a light meter. You can use a clapperboard or a clipboard to display the card and the f stop. (Do yourself a further favor and have it held steady in the frame held by a grip stand.) I would shoot at a variety of f/stops so that I would know what was happening if I was to shoot at those f/stops. As you can see, we strongly suggest sacrificing a roll of film this way so that you know you are getting correct exposure once you start shooting for real.

Q: 2. Is this support compatible / useful with any other ENG lenses? Fujinon? HD?

A: Chrosziel's Lens Support for Canon SD ENG 15mm is a lens support bracket for Canon SD ENG lenses for mounting onto lightweight support rods with 15mm diameter (not included). Performance with other brand lenses is not recommended.

Q: 3. Will this adapter work with Cannon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens? It's not included in the Viltrox website, not sure if can work on my old cannon lens. Thanks!

A: Yes, the adaptor will be electronically compatible with some exceptions such as autofocus. The focus confirmation will be available as well as aperture, metering reading and manual focus assist methods depending on which Nikon Z camera you will be connecting with your old Canon EF 28-135mm via Viltrox EF-Z Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera.

Q: 4. Will this work to adapt Canon NFD lenses to the Sigma FP? The Canon lenses are already converted to EF mount.

A: A native Canon FD-mount manual focus lens designed for use on manual Canon 35mm SLR cameras would not be compatible for use on the Viltrox EF-L Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens to L-Mount Camera. However, if your lens was somehow converted to a native Canon EF-mount lens mount, then yes, the above lens mount adapter would be compatible for your usage needs.

Q: 5. Will this support / work with the Canon HJ18ex28b iase a lens?

A: This is listed as supporting Canon SD ENG Lenses, the lens you mentioned is an HD Lens. It may not be supported and we do not recommend it at this time.

Q: 6. Im thinking of getting this kit with the Panasonic GH4, should I get the MFT set or should i get a metabones adaptor and the Canon EF set? If so what s the best adaptor to get to counter the GH4s crop factor?

A: If you get the set in MFT or E mount, you cannot use it with any other mount. If you get them in EF, not only will they work on a EF camera but with the appropriate adapter MFT, and E mount cameras as well. A Metabones speed booster will widen out the FOV of these lenses, negating the need for purchasing an extra lens for your wide needs. If you are going to use the GH4 for still and video, get the 0.71 Speedbooster. If you are using it for video only, go for the 0.64. This matches the lenses best for their intended use.

Q: 7. Would this work on a beaulieu 5008 super 8? Have a canon EF 70-300mm ultrasonic. Please answer back

A: From our research that vintage camera does have a C-Mount. However how well any adapter and modern lens will work on a Vintage piece of gear is something you would need to test out to see the results. Since this is an EF to C-Mount adapter it should work, but we are not aware of any specific testing done between the two.

Q: 8. Do Canon EF-S lens also fit on this adapter?

A: Sorry no, a EF-S lens will not work with this adapter. I suspect it is because the rear glass element of the lens will hit the aperture blades.

Q: 9. Would this product hold up to having two large L telephoto lenses attached all day on a long hot day outside? Can the plastic hold up to it? I was just thinking if a person became good at this change-over system, this could hold the 2nd and 3rd lenses, counting the 1st on the camera body. Is there anything that tells of a maximum weight or anything that would prevent this?

A: Holding two lens would not hang or balance as good on the side of your body. I first researched the product on the manufactures webpage. The center ring is all metal and there was a video of a man hanging off the strap. Who knows if it was not a lucky try and many breaks, but it shows the center is quite strong. The lens mount strength are all in the screws holding the metal rings to the body but it looks strong enough to support a large lens over time. I have only briefly owned mine but it seems to be a well made product. One dropped expensive lens would be too much bad press for such a company, I would think.

Q: 10. Will this adapter works with Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 - EF Mount? Thanks.

A: It will work with any EF mount lens.

[2.955 lb] I've never been let down by the quality of Chrosziel products. We use these gears a lot and they always come through. I would highly recommend this product.

[1.73" / 44 mm] These came as part of another order I made to receive a few cold shoe mounts to attach Speedlights to light stands. These blocks are made of anodized aluminum, are small and real sturdy.
I didn't need as many that came in the bag but can one ever have too many shoe adapters?

[1.73" / 44 mm] Haven’t used it a ton yet. But compared it to the Teradek motor, and the Heden MV26 (paired with a It’s definiteky quieter and smaller - and about half the weight of the Teradek, which was already pretty light. I dig the ingenious rod clamp that adapts to either 15 or 19mm internally without the need for an adapter that you could lose. I am using it with my Chrosziel Magnum 200. Has no problem pulling stiffer cinema lenses. The only potential negative is that the cable that runs to the receiver is fixed. So while that reduces weight with the reduced connector, if the cable gets damaged, your motor is out of commission until the motor cable is repaired (taking the whole motor out of use). I intend on having a backup motor. Given that Chrosziels system is compatible with other brands of motors (unlike the Teradek), should be easy to find one to swap in.

[0.010 mm] Solved the problem of not having enough hands to change lenses back and forth, particularly where your needs keep changing from one minute to the next. Others had cautioned about mixing up the buttons and accidentally releasing the wrong lens--but I had no trouble with this (but I am very cautious in handling my lenses). I just came back from visiting 3 National Parks and found this product to be a tremendous help switching between my Canon EFS 10-22 and my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM. I am anxious to check out the belt clip which GoWing has had in redesign for some time (disappointed that GoWing has taken so long on that).

[2.955 lb] Using with the MB450 Mattebox. It clamps on strong enough that I don't need to use the 15mm rod clamp.

[1.73" / 44 mm] For all of those times you want to carry one lens in addition to the one on your body, but don't want to lug around another bag, the ingenious design of this device is just what you need. Your additional lens is always right at your side and easy to swap quickly, minimizing the potential for damage or dust accumulation on your lenses or inside your camera body. Very easy to use and convenient.
