A: I use mine for speedlites. I wouldnt feel comfortable using this for an alien bee 13 in the air (especially not with a PLM) but if youre just looking for something with flexibility in height, then yes.

[0.08 lb] My lower collar broke in two on a shoot. Thought I was going to have to order a new light stand. With a little research I found just what I needed on B&H. Seriously took only minutes to repair. Now my stand is just like new. Pretty much universal for all stands. Fits most! 5

[0.08 lb] This collar replaces the top collar for the telescoping poles of a standard light stand. The tightener on this replacement collar is a little bulkier than the original one I was replacing but it works. The build quality of this is not as nice as the collars that came on the light stand but it is not terrible. I needed a quick replacement for a broken collar on one of my light stands, since I had to purchase a few other things from B&H anyway I was able to add this on for a few dollars on an order that already had free shipping. Installation: Took less than 4 minutes to remove old broken collar and replace with this one. All you need is a phillips screw driver. 5
