Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the photo for this item wrong? It should look like the photo for the General Brand 62mm-Series 7 Step-Up Adapter Ring: female 36 tpi threads for the smaller diameter Series 7 retaining ring and male 0.75mm pitch threads to fit larger diameter lens with its 0.75mm pitch female threads.

A: Unfortunately, I am not certain. The above is a general brand item, and the image used may be an example of the step-up adapter ring, but not be the actual adapter ring that is received. That being said, if you purchase the above item, the step-up ring you receive would be designed to allow a series 7 accessory to be used on a standard 67mm filter thread.

Q: 2. Will this fit on the older style Chrosziel matte boxes? I have the CLWAH-4,5

A: Not that we are aware of. This product is only listed as compatible with the MB-450 Series Matte Box.

Q: 3. Can this function as a step down ring (114-95mm) on the front of the NiSi 114mm Shatter-Proof Protector Filter?

A: Sure, you could clamp the NiSi 114mm Shatter-Proof Protector Filter to the front of the Movcam 114:95mm Step-Down Ring for 114mm Threaded MatteBox to use the NiSi 114mm Shatter-Proof Protector Filter on a 95mm lens.

Q: 4. I have a 300-600mm Tamron lens and have a 77mm Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring. Is this what I could use on my 95mm lens?

A: You cannot. This product is specifically for Wide Angle Attachments. Using a 77mm filter system on a lens with a 95mm thread will be very difficult, there may be vignetting caused by using such a smaller system on a larger one and we do not recommend it.

Q: 5. Can this ring be used to mount a 58mm filter on an leica series 7 lens? for example Summicron 90mm SN 2462538

A: No, this ring is to attach to a lens with 58mm filter threads.

Q: 6. I have a 72 mm filter and am purchasing a lens with 58 mm filter size. Need a filter ring?

A: You would need a 58mm to 72mm step up ring:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809629-REG/Sensei_sur5872_58_72mm_Step_Up_Ring.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809629-REG/Sensei_sur5872_58_72mm_Step_Up_Ring.html/a

Q: 7. Can you recommend a flexible step down ring or nun’s knickers that is compatible with the Chrosziel 805 Matte Box?

A: The Chrosziel MB 805 Production Matte Box could work with the Nun's knickers below. We would recommend: Chrosziel 142.5mm Flexi Bellows Ring for Chrosziel Matteboxes BH #CHC41070 • MFR #410-70

Q: 8. I am thinking about purchasing an 82 mm neutral density filter. Is a step-down ring what I need to allow me to use this filter on my 77 mm lenses? Looking at the 82-77 step-down ring (#408) by Heliopan. Thanks!

A: What you would need is a step up ring instead, since you are trying to fit an 82mm filter on a lens with a 77mm diameter. Please see the following link: http://bhpho.to/1n8QhUq

Q: 9. I have a Canon 24-70mm ef L lens f.2.8 uses 82mm filter. I want to step down to myCanon 24-105mm ef L lens with 77mm filter will this step down ring work?

A: It depends... If your camera has an APSC-size sensor, it will probably work. On a full-frame, it is very likely that you will end up with dark corners at the wide end, because at 24mm the lens has a wide view, and the step-down ring + the filter will extend too far forward and cause vignetting. Best way is to hold your filter about 3-4mm in front of the lens and see if it does cause vignetting.

Q: 10. Hello ! Is that possible to use this adapter + a Bay 50 to 52mm Ring to put 52mm filter on CF lens ?

A: No, the General Brand Hasselblad Bayonet 60-Bayonet 50 Step-Down Adapter Ring (Lens to Filter) enables a filter with an attachment size of Bayonet 50 to be used with a lens with an attachment size of Bayonet 60. You cannot use it with a 52mm filter.

[0.085 lb] This step down ring (aka doughnut) keeps light from reflecting off filters and back into the lens; it works with the AC-450 matte box and with lenses that have 50-85mm diameter fronts. It threads into the matte box's 110mm ring; the rubber ring stretches to fit around the lens front. It is especially good for lenses that expand and contract a bit as you focus or zoom them.

[Screw] Sensei makes very good rings, I bought all of them UP and Down. They are very accurate and well finished so that rarely they get stuck. This one was to mount a 77 mm Marumi in front of a Sigma 50-500mm (first version). Despite the different thread pitch the Sensei was able to screw in for half turn and was reliable.

[Plastic] This is a very simple product but works very effectively for a bunch of photography lenses with different diameter fronts. It has a nice Chrosziel build and feels like it would last the test of time. I was expecting the rubber to be really stiff, and hard to get over the lens, but it's quite soft and easy to use.

[Screw] Works great on my Nikon D750 with Nikon 28-300 lens (normal 77mm filter mount). Can use all my smaller 52mm filters. No vignetting as long as you use the DX in-camera crop option, found on the D750 menu. You should not use these filters in FX Full-Frame mode.
