Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the tungsten equivalent output? Is it powerful enough as a key light for stills photography?

A: The actual measured tungsten equivalent is about the same as 400W fresnel light. To put this into perspective it means when compared to common 300W fixtures the Practilite602 is little bit more powerful. For example common tungsten fresnel @ 300W outputs 2500lx in flood and 6500lx in spot whereas Practilite602 outputs 3100lx and 10000lx, not to mention it outputs about 15000lx in Boost Mode @ 4500K.If it is enough as a key light it depends on the subject matter, the scene and of course on the sensitivity you are willing to use: the smaller the scene the more light will you have, as for normal portraiture it will do fine but remember if you add a softbox/chimera you will lose half the light output which can be compensated by moving the light closer to the subject, if possible. As this light is focusable you are able to direct and shape the light without any additional modifiers.

Q: 2. Does this convert to monopole?

A: This tripod does not convert to a monopod.

Q: 3. Does this work as a phono preamp for moving magnet and moving coil?

A: Yes. It will work fine with either.

Q: 4. Does it come with the light stand?

A: No but you can get the light kit which includes the stand and hood as well as a bulb

Q: 5. Are the sockets plastic or ceramic?

A: They are hard plastic components and as such, make for a lighter adapter. So far they have performed well.

Q: 6. Can you use LED bulbs with this?

A: Unfortunately, no, you cannot use LED bulbs in the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit. The Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit is specifically designed for spiral CFL fluorescent lamps up to 85W maximum. LED bulbs generally have a heatsink at its base, and 4 LED bulbs this close together might not fit and could cause heat issues. CFL bulbs also have two advantages, they have a wider beam angle so they can fill the soft box completely and produce softer diffused light.

Q: 7. Do you know when they will be available to purchase?

A: As of today, this item is expected to be in stock by May 18, 2018. Please note that this is an estimate.

Q: 8. What is the minimum working height of the stand?

A: The minimum working height of the light stand that comes with the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit (B&H # IMFFOF4Q) is 34".

Q: 9. can I use LED bulbs with this?

A: LED bulbs such as the Kino Flo KF55 True Match Screw-Base LED Bulb (120 VAC) B&H # KI08SK50L120 can fit in this socket. https://bhpho.to/2Cwlpdp

Q: 10. Is it possible to peg gels on the rim of these lights?

A: While you could use wooden clothes pins to attach gels to the outer lip of the reflector, it is not recommend as this would be unsafe. A safer solution would be to use a filter holder in front of the light. Please see the link for reference: a href= http://bhpho.to/1hMMuds target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1hMMuds/a
