The Mole-Richardson 300W Vari-Junior LED Fresnel Lightfrom Mole-Richardson 300W Vari-Junior LED Fresnel Lightproduces the same look as an incandescent counterpart but with just 300W of power draw, a color temperature of 2700-6500K, and a high CRI of 92 indicating a superior rendering of color. The light has an 8" borosilicate glass Fresnel lens with spot-to-flood adjustment of 10-55° for everything from long throw work to flooding out a silk. The light has flicker-free dimming either locally using the 2.8" touchscreen and Twist & Push selector, or via the onboard DMX. Another benefit is Lumen Radio and Bluetooth capability for wireless control. The steel and aluminum fixture is ready for worldwide use thanks to 90-250 VAC power supply, but it can also run on block batteries when mains power is unavailable. The Vari-Junior also has a USB port for future firmware updates.

Q: 2. What type of connection does the ballast have for power? Stand Edison plug?

A: The ballast for this fresnel does have a standard Edison plug on the end.

Q: 3. How long is the upper part, that is, the part above the wide section that has the screw lock? I'm looking for something that will allow my Matthews Hollywood arm to sit on my Manfrotto light stands more securely (i.e., sit on a stud long enough to use the whole length of the mounting hole in the Hollywood arm. B&H # MAHWHA40B. The other studs I've tried won't allow the hole in the arm to go fully down onto the mounting stud on the light stand.

A: I measured 1 15/16 inches.

Q: 4. Will I need an adapter to run this off mains power in Australia? Can it be purchased with the correct power cables etc

A: The version we carry comes with the plugs for the US. You may add a plug adapter for Australia onto the existing US plug for use in 220-240VAC.

Q: 5. Can you get this light with an Anton Bauer batt connector instead of v mount?

A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer only offers a V Mount plate such as the Rayzr 7 V-Mount Battery Plate for Rayzr 7 200, 200BM, 300B B&H # RAVPR7 to power this light on location. An option to convert the battery plate is the Anton Bauer V-Mount to Gold-Mount Adapter Plate for Sony F5/F55 CineAlta Cameras B&H # ANQRC4KS, however it has not been tested to our knowledge.

Q: 6. What are the photometrics of the light? How many foot candles at 6', or 15' at 3200 and 5600?

A: Unfortunately, Mole-Richardson only lists photometrics for the 200W Varimole LED fixture at 10 feet (3 meters). At 3200K, the unit outputs 55 FC (539 Lux) at 10 feet (3 meters), and at 5600K, the unit outputs 67 FC (717 Lux) at 10 feet (3 meters). They do not list measurements at 6 feet or 15 feet.

Q: 9. Is it possible to purchase just the fresnel lens for this light??

A: B&H does not have replacement lenses for the LTM Fresnel lights.

Q: 10. Will the output of the Rayzr 7 300 Daylight be reduced if ran on battery? And what battery power would you need to output 100%. Also, what's the runtime on battery?

A: From the manufacturer; At this time, the Rayzr 300D does not run off of a battery. Rayzr does not have an accessory option to run this particular fixture from a battery and discourage any 3rd party batteries. At NAB they showed a solution (special plate) but at this time it is not available. [180 W ] Purchased to adapt a baby 5/8 light stand head to accept a Mole-Richardson junior Model 412 Fresnel spotlight. Using it in reverse of what I believe the intended purpose was but on a sturdy stand, the weight is supported quite well. 5

[9" (Scrim)] I've been lighting with Mole Tungsten for years and keep seeing LEDs show up on set. I test every one I come across but I'm usually very disappointed. After trying the first gen Mole LED single temp and finding them much better, I bought a couple of these 200W Varimole LEDs as a test. I've immediately invested in 400W and 900W lights because these 200W Varimoles are by far the best LEDs I've worked with to date. Color temp runs from 2400-6000K (their spec says 2700-5600K). Brightness is equal to a tweenie (650W). The beam on these is not focusable but it casts a sharp cutable beam. One of the big differences between the Mole and other brands is the build quality. Every other LED I've see looks and feels like a toy or at least not a professional tool. Except Aadyntech which are monsters (but credit due for being early useable LEDs on set and location). The Moles are build very similar to Mole tungsten with heavy duty yokes, cords, switches etc. These are built to be used every day and last. I'm included some pics because Mole doesn't do a good job of showing off these lights. Full disclosure on my bias, I dislike the quality of panel lights and Kino type lights. 5
