[2.235 lb] I've been using the Zhiyun Smooth 5S AI Gimbal with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and it’s been a good choice for improving my video quality. Most importantly the stabilization is effective, giving me steady shots even while moving around and walking. Balancing the gimbal is straightforward. I also like that it’s easy to switch between landscape and portrait modes, so I can quickly adjust depending on what I’m shooting. The AI tracking does a nice job of keeping my subject in frame, which is really helpful. The AI tracker magnetically mounts to the gimbal in both the forward position and the selfie mode.

I’ve been happy with the ZY Cami app as it has a bunch of features, easy to use, and still allows me to film in 4K 24p, 30p and 60p. I can still use the native iPhone camera app. The gesture control feature is actually fun to use and convenient. The built-in fill light is most useful for low-light situations if your subject is relatively close to the camera but will drain the gimbal battery faster. The gimbal battery life has been reliable. I’ve managed to get through longer shoots without needing to recharge. I wish this gimbal came with a carrying case or bag. For now I have been storing it in one of my camera bags as the gimbal is small enough to fit. Overall, it’s been a convenient tool for filming with my phone, and I’m glad I picked it up. I’ll will definitely be taking this gimbal on my next vacation. And in the next few months I will be upgrading to the latest iphone.

[No ] This is fun! Mounting and balancing the smartphone on this gimbal was quick and fairly easy for me as a first-time user of a handheld gimbal.

[4 Hours] When I bought this I had only moderate expectations. The reviews here are good but the reviews on that other website "where everybody buys stuff" were not so good. Stories about instability and lack of compatibility abound. So I was pleasantly surprised when I started to use this. It paired immediately with my Samsung galaxy note 20. The app installed without incident via a QR code. As soon as the gimbal paired attached it offered to update its own firmware, which completed without any issues. I have had absolutely no problems with the gimbal crashing, or the app crashing, or the video recorder stopping. It has all being stable as can be.

The only complaint is a minor one and it has to do with charging the battery. The lower port is used for charging. Even though it is a USB-C port it is not USB-C PD capable. This means you need to use a charger with a USB-A port, and a USB A to USB-C charge cable. if you try to use a USB-C PD charger, the device will not charge. While this is only a minor issue it should be mentioned in the documentation and it is not. I was able to determine that the device will charge at 10W.

The gimbal works extremely well. It is very stable, and the video quality is much better than what I was getting out of the phone previously. It has no problem handling my Samsung note 20 ultra which is a very large and heavy phone.

The big upside with this model compared with its obvious competitors (ie, DJI OM4) is that it has 3.5mm ports for an external microphone. The model I bought from B&H included the Saramonic smartmic. My phone does not have a microphone jack so I purchased an analog to USB-C adapter for $13. The result is much better audio than I was able to capture with the smart phone alone.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

[Single Handgrip] I love it. Enjoying the recent Wedding UHD video I took using Samsung S8 phone attached to EVO Gimbals Shift and Zoom H4 for sound. all were attached to a Monopod for ease of operation.
The video clips were outstanding..

[No ] I got this product to enhance our live-streaming programs primarily because it uses an external microphone to enhance the audio but additional cable & adapter were needed aside from the basic cables ... once I received these, the next program was much better audio-wise ... the only gripe is that the device does not allow thru-the-device charging ... but then again, I may be missing something ... will use it more to be proficient at it ... thanks!

[No ] I'm very happy with this gimbal and actually only have one issue which I should have caught before committing to it - the lightning port is covered up when the phone is in the holder as designed which blocks use of an external mic. I am searching for a work around using Bluetooth or WiFi. Feedback and suggestions welcome.
But back to the gimbal. It handles my iPhone 12 just great. The feel is that of having a very sturdy build. The app is a great adjunct to the gimbal amd the features all work beautifully. It's a keeper and I'd definitely recommend it with the one caveat about the lightning port.
