Q: 1. I have tried screwing this lens hood on and it does not happen for me. Any secrets? I've had lots of lens hoods before this one (I've actually got two because I didn't realize the lens came with one) and both don't work.

A: Hi James, I recently had the same issue. First I also ordered a lens shade as the description did not indicate that one would be in the box. I returned the second one with no problem. As far as putting the lens shade on the lens. There is a removable ring on the front of the lens that needs to be taken off before you can actually add the lens hood. This is not the ideal situation as it is easy to loose. Not sure why Olympus set it up like this. Once you remove the ring you can easily add the lens hood. Hope this helps. By the way so far I am very happy with the results of using this lens. It is very easy to have this lens on the camera most of the time as it is extremely small. Good luck.

Q: 2. I have a 37mm filter on mine. How does the thumbscrew work? And why does it say 46mm screw in hood if the lens only accepts a 37mm filter????Thanks

A: The hood attaches around the filter. The thumb screw pushes a semicircle band inside the diameter of the hood applying even pressure to hold it on. Its basically a clamp.

Q: 3. does LH-DC90 fit SX70 HS ?

A: Yes the Canon LH-DC90 Lens Hood is compatible with the SX70 HS camera.

Q: 4. Is this hood metal or plastic?

A: The Olympus LH-40B hood is constructed from plastic.

Q: 5. The hood looks quite large. Could it interfere with the operation of the VC II meter. Mounted on an M3?

A: This hood will not interfere with the metering of the VC II meter. Mounted on an M3 or any other camera.

Q: 6. Does this lens Hood allow filters Tobe attached to it?

A: No, the front of the Canon LH-DC110 Lens Hood does not have filter threads to allow filters to be attached.

Q: 7. I have the M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 and the lens says it is a 46. The spec sheet also says it is a 46. Is this for and older 25? Mine was made 2013.

A: Olympus only has one (1) Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black),B&H # OL2518MB. The above lens does have 46mm front filter threads. The Olympus LH-49B Hood for M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black), B&H # OLLH49BB, is the original replacement lens hood designed for use with and included with the purchase of the aforementioned Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens.

Q: 8. Is this metal or plastic?

A: This hood is plastic.

Q: 9. Does this fit on the Fuji X100VI ?

A: No, the FUJIFILM LH-XF27 Lens Hood will not work on the Fuji X100VI. The FUJIFILM LH-100 is the compatible hood for the Fuji X100VI.

Q: 10. How does the lens hood go onto the lens? I cannot get it to fit at all.

A: You need to remove the ring that is around the front of the lens. Just unscrew it and remove it and the hood will fit just fine.

[Bayonet] I've tried 3rd party hoods and they work well, but don't fit as well as this hood which clicks into place smoothly.

[0.165 lb] Walking around with a hood prevents light damage to your lens from bumps, and keeps the flare down on your pictures. I always have one on my lenses.

[0.165 lb] This is one of my few bayonet petal hoods. Most of my hoods are much older and made of metal, so I was curious about these more modern hoods. I'm quite impressed by this hood. At first glance, it looks like it's just plastic, but if you look more closely in the light, you can see that it's made of a composite material and there are fibers in the material. It's not only strong and stiff, but when you pick it up, it feels surprisingly light (similar to a carbon tripod) and feels solid. It also has a really nice texture to it that feels nice in the hand. There are small arrows silk-screened on the body so you know where to put the hood on and in what direction to turn it to lock and unlock it. It attaches in both the regular and reversed directions with a firm and positive click and there is an unlock button to unlock it. It locks on both in the regular and reversed positions. It's definitely a hood that feels at home on the Pro lens it is meant for and one of the nicest hoods I've ever seen.

[0.165 lb] This lens hood comes with no instructions which may sound strange since you may never have had to use instructions to mount your lens hood on your lens before. However, it is made with a little locking mechanism that clicks into place when the lens hood is mounted on your lens. You must press a little button on the side to release the locking mechanism to take it off. There are no instructions provided for this. If you try to take it off without pressing the button you will surely damage it.

The first one I received locked properly with the hood mounted for storage, but in the usage position it did not lock and would easily fall off the lens. Either the little locking tooth that is used in the usage position was slightly out of place or broken and I received an item that had been returned by a previous purchaser who broke it

Its expensive because of this clever but delicate technology, so be sure to use the push button to remove the hood when you want to dismount it in either position - storage or usage potions.

[Bayonet] This is the most awesome lens hood I have ever in my life had the pleasure of experiencing. The silver is just the right amount of silver and the feeling that it gives me when I hold it in my hands is only surpassed by the joy I feel when I see it sitting on my desk attached to my camera, calling to me to be used and enjoyed. I love it so much, I bought a second one!  Seriously!

[0.165 lb] This is an excellent addition for the 45 mm 1.8 lens. It helps prevent flares and protect the lens from being hit and destroying the lens.
