Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it fit the Behringer X32 COMPACT 25x20.8x8.46?

A: If the mixer you have is the Behringer X32 Compact 40-Input, 25-Bus Digital Mixing Console with 16 Microphone Preamps (B&H # BEX32COMPACT • MFR # X-32 COMPACT), the Gator Cases G-Mix 20x25 (B&H # GAGMIX20X25) is not wide enough to accommodate the mixer's height. For a case with wheels, Gator Cases G-TOUR X32CMPCTW ATA Wood Flight Case for Behringer X-32 Compact Mixer (B&H # GAGTOURX32CM) is a good option. The Gator Cases G-Tour Series ATA Wood Flight Case for Behringer X32 Compact Mixer (B&H # GATRX32MPCTN) is a similar case without wheels. For other options, the ProX Hard Road Case for Behringer X32 Compact Mixer with Doghouse and Wheels (B&H # PRXSBX32CDHW) or Odyssey Innovative Designs FZBEHX32COM Flight Zone Series Live Sound Mixer Case for Behringer X32 Compact (B&H # ODFZBEHX32CO). Q: 2. Can you record entire songs on the keyboard or it is just a short sequence that may be recorded?

A: You can arrange entire songs on the Korg Nautilus 73 Music Workstation.

Q: 3. Will it fit a tascam dm 24?

A: No, this case is too small. Tascam lists dimensions for the DM-24 as 22.9 x 25.9 x 7.8" (582 x 657 x 198mm). We unfortunately do not have a molded case available at this time that will properly fit.

Q: 4. Getting static and interference noise. When I unplug USB it stops?

A: A comprehensive test of every device in your setup would need to be done to determine where the interference noise and static is coming from. You could be getting RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) through the computer or computer monitor. If the noise is a ground loop, you may try the EBTECH HUMX which filters out unwanted voltage and current in the ground line that cause ground loop hum, while simultaneously maintaining a solid, safe ground.

Q: 5. How long is the cable(s)? What is the polarity of the tip/ring? What is the size of the barrel connector?

A: The cable is approximately 3' long. The barrel connector is 2.1 x 5.5mm with a positive tip and negative sleeve.

Q: 6. is USB in on this mixer just input? or will this send tracks to a computer?

A: No it is not like an interface. It's like a USB mixer you can send 2 tracks via USB out of the mixer to USB in on your computer. There is no multi track recording with this desk.

Q: 7. if i load a sample into the volca, is it permanently there? like, could I unplug it from my computer, take it on the go, and then I have that sound in it with me?

A: This unit has 200 sample memory slots, and should store then on the unit itself.

Q: 8. Is this the compatible adapter for the electribe2s sampler?

A: According to Korg USA, yes

Q: 9. How many tracks the Korg SoundLink MW-2408 Hybrid Analog/Digital Mixer have?

A: According to Page 13 in the manual for the Korg SoundLink MW-2408: "You can distribute Korg SoundLink's 16 or 24 inputs into 8 outputs fed to an audio/digital interface."

Q: 10. Are the "keys" touch sensitive?

A: No. They are either on or off.

[Play, tempo] The Korg Volca Kick is a fantastic and beefy analog percussion/bass module which, while limited, completely delivers. First off I love Korg so much more than Moog for its filters but specifically for its MS20 filter. This Volca takes the MS20 filter and puts it in kick form. I absolutely love the completely analog tones that come out of this thing. It is limited but what it does do it does so well. Everyone needs a solid kick for the foundation of any great track. This delivers in spades. I recommend slowing down your attack time to take away any clickiness to your kick. This will sound more natural. Also I recommend sampling your kick tone and using your Volca Kick sample in your sampler or DAW of your choosing. This way you get consistent phase interplay between this and other samples. Always check you phases. Especially with the kick, a random analog start phase to your sound will make the body of your track breathe in an undesirable way. The Volca Kick can also be used as a bass synth and, while I haven't done this yet, I'm sure when I get around to it I'll love it as well.

[Play, tempo] LOVE MY VOLCAS! GREAT PRICE, EASY TO USE! I started with the KORG Volca Beats, and quickly added the Volca Keys, then the Volca Bass. I love the way they sync. I also like using knobs and manual/mechanical manipulation, which is part of the fun of the Volca series: twirling oscillators and noise filters in real time. Build quality is decent (particularly for the money), and these devices are super-easy to use. The analog tones are versatile: fat, warm and spooky/spacey as you'd want them to be. Watch the YouTube tutorials for some great demonstrations of the capabilities of these units- Hearing is believing!

[1.825 lb] Intuitive and portable. Works well in live applications as well as in the studio. Being able to access and manipulate multiple parameters at the same time (mute control of instrument parts, fx, and part pitch / speed) makes it handy for live performance. Moving back and forth between triggering samples and step sequencing works well for ideation.

[1.825 lb] I’ve owned Synthesizers since 1972. I currently own quite a few from several manufacturers, Behringer, Roland, ASM, Elektron, Modal, Teenage Engineering and Korg (Volca FM 2 and Sample 2) to name a few.

10 years in the marketplace this Volca Keys has really held up to the test of time.

Marketed as an “Analogue” Synthesizer in reality the control signals are generated digitally with the CPU using a 10-bit DAC giving it near-analogue resolution. So this is a Subtractive Hybrid unit; an analogue sound engine with digital control so dial tweaks and note info can be recorded into the sequencer/accessed over MIDI. By the way, this is a good thing not a negative at all.

It’s a pretty easy to use, straightforward, with no menu screen, pretty much a dial per function arrangement. Great for beginners but powerful enough for experienced users.

I did notice notice that some dials are translucent and some solid. As a rule I found the solid dials' movements can't be sequenced, but the translucent dials can be sequenced and are backlit red plus flash to denote which parameters are active or recorded in a 'motion sequence' (motion sequencing captures dial movements into the sequencer).  The tempo dials flash in time with the internal/MIDI-clocked tempo and each key/sequence step has its own LED too, convenient for letting you know what's happening at a glance within complex sequences
.
It has 3 sawtooth wave oscillators & produces great upfront three-note chords, dirty lead/bass lines, ring modulated sounds and detuned unisons. It also features octave/fifth mono modes, a versatile tempo-syncable analogue-style delay that does reverbs/bit-crushing (from the Monotron Delay) freeform unquantised flux recording and 1/1, 1⁄2 and 1⁄4 tempo modes.

It uses the great MiniKORG700s filter. The LFO has 3 waveforms: sawtooth, square & triangle which make for some great modulation variety.
The Volca Keys really packs a lot in, it's very versatile and a true value at such a low cost.

[1.825 lb] Quick, easy, small drum sequencer with great features. The stutter knobs make this unit really cool. Just twist to add either a simple delay, or change the groove entirely. The controls over kick snare tom and hat are intuitive and quick. Can create significant feel changes very easily. Definitely see myself using this often to demo grooves, and layer into larger arrangements.

[Play, tempo] Fun in a little box! A real analog drum for a small price. The only thing missing is an audio input, so we chain others volca.

[Play, tempo] I've had the Beats for about a month now and it's been great. In use, it is very immediate...you are creating beats and rhythms within seconds. I would not count on it for its snare sound (unless you mod it). For me, I use it primarily as a glitch machine. The kick sound is very powerful and quite deep and full sounding. The hats are capable of a wide range of sound from hat-like to glitch-like. One really buys these for the stutter mechanism...that's when the box really gets going.
