The 4' long Ci 1 cable connects the 1/4" output of your guitar or bass to the bodypack transmitter's locking 3.5mm input.

The adjustable input sensitivity on the transmitter accommodates instruments with passive and active electronics, and even line-level audio.

The rugged, all-metal transmitter features a programmable mute function and can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance. A backlit LCD displays essential information and provides fast menu access. The transmitter syncs to the receiver via infrared with a quick press on the Sync button.

The SK 500 G4 is powered via two AA batteries or a rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). Side contacts allow for recharging the Accupack without removing it from the transmitter—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately).

The robust, metal EM 300-500 G4 receiver offers a high-contrast, black-&-white OLED display. The display uses a streamlined menu system with a jog wheel and dedicated Escape button for quick menu navigation. The display also shows battery status of the associated transmitter.

The system features 20 fixed frequency banks with up to 32 compatible frequency presets and 6 user banks with up to 32 user-programmable frequencies.

To prevent interference, the EM 300-500 receiver's true-diversity reception compares incoming signals on two independent receiver circuits to ensure optimal RF quality. To ensure crystal-clear audio, Sennheiser's proprietary HDX compander technology maximizes the microphone's signal-to-noise ratio, while avoiding RF noise.

The built-in equalizer enables you to change the frequency response of the output signal; you can reduce the bass range and boost the treble range. The receiver also offers an adjustable output level range of 48 dB to match the audio input of your mixing board or PA system.

A headphone output with volume control is conveniently located on the front panel, allowing you to monitor your instrument.

The back panel houses a balanced XLR output as well as an unbalanced 1/4" output. A kit is included for rackmount installation. The unit comes with a universal power supply and EU, US, UK, Korea, Australia, and China adapters.

The receiver features an Ethernet (RJ45) port for network-based remote monitoring and control using the Sennheiser Wireless System Manager (WSM) software (free download available separately). Using your Mac/Windows computer, the software allows you to quickly coordinate frequencies in multi-channel setups, display audio levels at the transmitter, battery status, and more.

The detachable antennas with BNC sockets allow you to create a larger system using up to four EM 300-500 G4 receivers connected to a single pair of remote antennas. This setup requires the ASA 214 active antenna splitter (available separately).

Adding a pair of A 1031-U omnidirectional antennas or a pair of A 2003 UHF directional antennas increases the range of your system and offers increased protection against interference.

Sennheiser offers a variety of lavalier, headset, and handheld microphone options to adapt your EW system as your needs evolve.

  • The lightweight MKE 2 lavalier mic and HS 2-ew headset mic both provide exceptional clarity in singing and spoken-word applications.
  • The SKM 500 G4 handheld transmitter is available with a multitude of mic capsule options for presenters and performers who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.
  • The CL 2 cable lets you connect an XLR line source to your transmitter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these potentially interfere with lavaliers that have already been paired on a film set? I'd like to use these as IFBs.

A: Yes, the Sennheiser ew IEM G4-Twin Wireless Monitor System Kit (A1: 470 to 516 MHz) can be used on a film set where wireless microphones are already being used. As long as the 470 to 516 MHz frequency band will work in your area and does not already have a large number of wireless mics operating on the same band, there should not be any problems. The IEM G4 system offers 1,680 receiving frequencies,

Q: 2. What's the difference between the AW+ and the GW1, for use primarily in the USA but also overseas (Europe and Australia?)

A: The only difference between the two is the frequency band that the system operates within. AW+ band operates between 470 to 558 MHz and GW1 operates between 558 to 608 MHz. These frequency bands are both intended for use in the USA and may not be usable in Europe or Australia.

Q: 3. Can the transmitter be battery powered? Perhaps via an Audioroot BDS?

A: While I haven't experimented with it, technically you should be able to. It's a 12vdc input. So as long as you have the right cable and an adequate battery, I don't see why not.

Q: 4. Does Sennheiser offer a wireless solution that offers dual recording, so that two mics can be used simultaneously?

A: The only dual channel system Sennheiser makes that is similar to the EW 500 FILM G4 Camera Mount Wireless Combo System would be the Sennheiser EK 6042 Dual-Channel Slot-Mount Wireless Receiver (B&H # SEEK6042)

Q: 5. Can the EW 500 receiver XLR be connected to a mixer rather than camera?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver from the Sennheiser EW 500 FILM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System can be connected to the XLR input on a mixer, rather than being connected to a camera. You can use the Sennheiser CL-500 Balanced Cable for use with Sennheiser EK500 Receiver 1/8"-Male Mini Jack to XLR-Male Connector (B&H # SECL500), which comes included in the package with the EK 500 Receiver.

Q: 6. How does this compare to the Sony UWPD16/14 Wireless Microphone System?

A: They are both very popular systems and offer excellent quality for professional applications and commercial applications.

Q: 7. Can I use this device to transmit Zoom meetings? So my presenters can listen to the questions in ear?

A: Yes you csn send the audio from a computer into an audio interface or mixer and out to the Sennheiser ew IEM G4-Twin Wireless Monitor System Kit.

Q: 8. can each receiver receive a separate channel? one XLR feeds one receiver, the other XLR feeds the other?

A: This is not possible. The microphone inputs are configured as a stereo output to each receiver.

Q: 9. The Ew500 G4 uses Lan conection though a switch to a computer but can it be used as a Dante connection. What I would like to do is record each chanel to a DAW on the computer?

A: Hi Mark - the Evolution Wireless series (including the EW 500 G4) in not Dante™ enabled; there are third party options that could enable you to take the analog output signal from the system to convert to a Dante™ connection or you could consider looking into the Digital 6000 series.

Q: 10. in terms of heat dissipation, is it safe to operate this inside a K-Tek Stingray audio bag for IFB?

A: Yes it is safe to operate the Sennheiser SR IEM G4 Stereo Transmitter inside of an audio bag for IFB.

[1x Bodypack] I previously have used Sennheiser for about 20 years and upon need of getting something to take the place of my old one logical choice was Sennheiser again, and simply it’s the best

[1x RJ45] Super reliable and dependable wireless with a great 935 cardioid mic. I am primarily using this for speech in wedding ceremonies and for MC'ing, this is my second sennheiser system. I compare this with Shure QLX-D as I own several of both brands and my personal preference for the e935 EW500 wireless but it's really a tough call overall. This unit is rock solid reliable and I like that I can increase the transmit power of the handheld to 50mw should I need a little boost to cut through the RF noise but that has not been the case yet.

[3 V RMS] I do live speaking in medium to large hotel spaces. I've been using this system for a year-and-a-half now instead of whatever is on offer from a given hotel (along with the Bose L1 Model II with Tonematch). The Sennheiser has always been at least as good as the hotel's equipment, and in most cases far superior. It's easy to set up, the sound is extremely clean, there's no latency (note some digital systems have a several millisecond lag), and it always works. This gives me the confidence to give a great talk. I also recommend the aforementioned Bose. Battery life (2 AAs) will get me through two hours of talking non-stop and another hour of Q&A for the afternoon, and again for three hours at night. If I were focus grouping with Sennheiser, I'd tell them the mute button works but can be tough to find when you're on stage; it takes a second to kick in so it's not useful as a cough button. But again, overall, terrific rig.

[IR] I can now record boom mics in the car instead of just lavs, while also having the option of having an extra channel for lavs if I need it. They have much better range the 100 series and a much better mic.

[>75 dB] I specifically got this unit because it does not operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth which is unbelievably overcrowded at the moment. I actually think the sound quality is a little better than my Line 6 Relay G90 unit that I have been using for the past five years. I used this system over the weekend in a casino where my line 6 unit had severe drop out issues due to the 2.4 GHz bandwidth. This unit performed flawlessly and I am very happy with it. The obvious weak link in this system though is the guitar cable which seems to be very cheap. I went ahead and ordered Neutrik connectors and bulk cable and made a couple of my own cables which are bulletproof. Overall you cannot beat the system for the quality and reliability in this price point.

[1 RU (1/2 Rack)] We use exclusively Sennheiser wireless equipment, and have never had a failure while performing. Added this to our rack the day of the show and it performed flawlessly. B&H ALWAYS delivers. Amazing product from an amazing distributor.

[1x Bodypack] Same EW100 unit that the vocal stuff has. and b&h threw in a lapel. A lot cheaper than the EW100 that came with a lapel. Used with a countryman E6 this past week and it worked great.

[Analog UHF ] I've dealt with Sennheiser as a repair technician and found them to be a solid company that takes good care of its customers. So I went with this system and am totally pleased. Sound quality is excellent and with all the channels available, it's easy to set up and program.
