The Sennheiser SK 500 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter 470-558 MHzis a bodypack wireless transmitter compatible with the EM 300-500 G4 receiver. The rugged, all-metal design is comfortable for performers and presenters to wear for daily use on stage. The transmitter operates on an exceptionally wide 88 MHz UHF tuning range with 3520 selectable frequencies available. It provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a transmission range up to 330 feet and a selectable 10/30/50mW RF power output for overcoming interference in difficult RF environments.

The SK 500 G4 features a locking 3.5mm connector with an adjustable mic/line input level to accommodate the compatible lavalier or headset microphone of your choice or an adapter cable for guitar and bass. When the Sync function on the receiver is engaged, the transmitter and receiver quickly link to the same frequency via infrared. The transmitter's backlit LCD displays essential information, while the convenient programmable mute function can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance.

The unit can also be powered by a single rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). Side contacts allow for recharging the Accupack without removing it from the transmitter—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately).

The SK 500 G4 is backward-compatible with all previous evolution systems. You can mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 300/500 systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi will it work with the G3 recever? Thankz

A: Yes it will work with the G3 system, just make sure to match the frequency!

Q: 2. Will the A: 516-558 body pack sync with a G: 566-608 receiver?

A: In order to sync properly, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (A: 516 to 558 MHz) must be paired with a Sennheiser receiver on the same frequency range, and more specifically, on the same exact frequency. Two wireless components on different frequency ranges will not communicate with each other whatsoever.

Q: 3. I have the Sennheiser EW 112P G3-B Omni-directional EW system. Will this work with the G3 receiver?

A: Hi Brian - while Evolution Wireless G4 is backward compatible with EW G3, the products need to operate within the same frequency range. Your current product is the EW 112P G3 in the B-Range, which is 626-668MHz and the AW+ range of this SKP 500 is 470 - 558MHz, so they wouldn't be compatible. The larger issue is that the FCC has effectively banned wireless devices in the 600MHz range, effective July 13, 2020 - to help offset the costs of transitioning to new, legal devices, Sennheiser is offering a rebate on the trade-in of 600MHz products and the EW 112P G4 sets are also on sale through the end of April 2020 at B&H.

Q: 4. How much difference does 30mw vs 50 mw have on reliability, reception and range?

A: Every milliwat may count when tolerances are very close. It sometimes can be a game of inches.

Q: 5. Can I use this plug on for a Rode NTG3 mic and a Sennheiser EK 100 G3 Wireless Receiver (G: 566-608)? Thank you.

A: You sure can.

Q: 6. Will this work with the EW 100 G3 receiver?

A: The G4 series is backwards compatible with the G3 series, so you can program this transmitter to work with your EW 100 G3 receiver. The 500 G4 series divides the available UHF range for wireless microphones into two large 88 MHz blocks. Just be sure to get the appropriate range that includes the frequencies for your G3 receiver.

Q: 7. I'm looking for a belt clip for Sennheiser SK100 ?

A: BH #SE543660 is the replacement belt clip for the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 8. I have a G4 Receiver with 558-626MHz. Can I use the GW1 Transmitter with 558-608MHz?

A: Yes, you can use your G4 receiver with the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro Wireless Plug-On Transmitter GW1: (558 to 608 MHz) but you will be limited in the frequency channels that you can use to sync the transmitter and receiver. It is always recommended to use a transmitter and receiver in the same frequency band, for the most available frequency channels and best results.

Q: 9. Will this work with an older EW 500 G3 receiver (if they're both set to the same frequency)?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK 500 G4 is compatible with the G3 series as long as there is overlap in the frequency blocks and transmitter & receiver can be set to the same frequency.

Q: 10. Hi there. Will this unit supply 48 V phantom power to a shotgun mic? Cheers

A: Hi Marc - the SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter doesn’t supply 48V phantom power, however, the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter does. If you’re working with a shotgun microphone that can be powered via battery or phantom powers - such as the MKE 600 - you could also use the SKP 100 G4 plug-on transmitter as a more cost effective solution. Alternately, a CM 1 XLR Female to 3.5mm locking connector adapter cable can also be used with the MKE 600 to connect it to a bodypack transmitter. For +48V phantom power, you’ll want to be looking at the 500 Series (EW 500 G4 BOOM, EW 500 G4 FILM or SKP 500 G4).

[0.8 lb] When the FCC announced that the Range-B frequencies would no longer be available, I took that opportunity to replace all my old Sennheiser Frequency Range-B equipment with Range-A.  For the past 15 years I have found Sennheiser wireless equipment to be very good.  Highly recommended.

[0.8 lb] We all know this is the name to beat! Originally bought the receiver and handheld mic. Should’ve bought the full combo, because I came back to buy the body pack because I was so pleased with the original purchase of the receiver and handheld mic. Untouchable in my opinion. Clicks off all the boxes. The only question I am uncertain of, the salesman pushed me toward the less expensive off brand Sonal lapel mic, other than the Senn. It is awesome, very study and quality sound, but just curious of the difference with the Senn lapel would have made. Have read reviews the Sonal is better, sound and build quality So I am banking on that. Overall, don’t be scared to make the purchase. This is a brand to trust.
