The Sennheiser SK 500 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter 558-608 MHzis a bodypack wireless transmitter compatible with the EM 300-500 G4 receiver. The rugged, all-metal design is comfortable for performers and presenters to wear for daily use on stage. The transmitter operates on a wide 50 MHz UHF tuning range with 2000 selectable frequencies available. It provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a transmission range up to 330 feet and a selectable 10/30/50mW RF power output for overcoming interference in difficult RF environments.

The SK 500 G4 features a locking 3.5mm connector with an adjustable mic/line input level to accommodate the compatible lavalier or headset microphone of your choice or an adapter cable for guitar and bass. When the Sync function on the receiver is engaged, the transmitter and receiver quickly link to the same frequency via infrared. The transmitter's backlit LCD displays essential information, while the convenient programmable mute function can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance.

The unit can also be powered by a single rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). Side contacts allow for recharging the Accupack without removing it from the transmitter—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately).

The SK 500 G4 is backward-compatible with all previous evolution systems. You can mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 300/500 systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this microphone work with the Sennheiser L 2015 Charger?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser L2015G2 Charging Station, BH #SEL2015G2 is the appropriate charger for this transmitter, with the Sennheiser BA 2015G2 Rechargeable Battery Pack, BH #SEBA2015G2 installed.

Q: 2. Will this work with the EW 100 G3 receiver?

A: The G4 series is backwards compatible with the G3 series, so you can program this transmitter to work with your EW 100 G3 receiver. The 500 G4 series divides the available UHF range for wireless microphones into two large 88 MHz blocks. Just be sure to get the appropriate range that includes the frequencies for your G3 receiver.

Q: 3. Can the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 transmit to multiple 100 g4 receiverers on the same frequency. one transmitter to 2 - receivers?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter can simultaneously transmit audio to multiple EW 100 G4 Series Wireless Receivers that are tuned to the same frequency.

Q: 4. I'm looking for a belt clip for Sennheiser SK100 ?

A: BH #SE543660 is the replacement belt clip for the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 5. I have the Sennheiser EW 112P G3-B Omni-directional EW system. Will this work with the G3 receiver?

A: Hi Brian - while Evolution Wireless G4 is backward compatible with EW G3, the products need to operate within the same frequency range. Your current product is the EW 112P G3 in the B-Range, which is 626-668MHz and the AW+ range of this SKP 500 is 470 - 558MHz, so they wouldn't be compatible. The larger issue is that the FCC has effectively banned wireless devices in the 600MHz range, effective July 13, 2020 - to help offset the costs of transitioning to new, legal devices, Sennheiser is offering a rebate on the trade-in of 600MHz products and the EW 112P G4 sets are also on sale through the end of April 2020 at B&H.

Q: 6. Will the A: 516-558 body pack sync with a G: 566-608 receiver?

A: In order to sync properly, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (A: 516 to 558 MHz) must be paired with a Sennheiser receiver on the same frequency range, and more specifically, on the same exact frequency. Two wireless components on different frequency ranges will not communicate with each other whatsoever.

Q: 7. I own one but the spring in back of it broke, Can I get a replacement ??

A: BH #SE543660 is the appropriate replacement belt clip for the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 8. Hi will it work with the G3 recever? Thankz

A: Yes it will work with the G3 system, just make sure to match the frequency!

Q: 9. Hi there. Will this unit supply 48 V phantom power to a shotgun mic? Cheers

A: Hi Marc - the SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter doesn’t supply 48V phantom power, however, the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter does. If you’re working with a shotgun microphone that can be powered via battery or phantom powers - such as the MKE 600 - you could also use the SKP 100 G4 plug-on transmitter as a more cost effective solution. Alternately, a CM 1 XLR Female to 3.5mm locking connector adapter cable can also be used with the MKE 600 to connect it to a bodypack transmitter. For +48V phantom power, you’ll want to be looking at the 500 Series (EW 500 G4 BOOM, EW 500 G4 FILM or SKP 500 G4).

Q: 10. Hello, Can I use this with G4 SK500 Transmitter?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EK IEM G4 Stereo Bodypack Receiver can be used with a Sennheiser SK 500 G4 Transmitter that operates within the same frequency band. If you will be using the IEM receiver with a transmitter that is paired with camera-mount or rack-mount receivers, you can turn off the pilot tone on the IEM receiver and manually tune it to the same frequency.

[10 / 30 / 50 mW] The antennas on one of my Sennheiser lav sets were deteriorating after many years of hard use. The plastic shielding coating the antennas was flaking off. I searched all over the Houston area and could not find anyone able or willing to make the repairs. Even consulted several collogues to no avail. I am not much of a DIY guy especially when it comes to repairing electronics but I had no other choice. I hit YouTube and found several videos describing the process and thought I'd give it a try. I called B&H and spoke to one of their staff. They were able to find exactly what I needed at an amazingly low price. They even shipped the antennas to me free of charge. Of course I had to purchase a soldering iron, solder, and a Tork screwdriver set locally to attempt the repair. Not much of an electronics work bench here but I spent much less on the new gear than the Bench fee one guy who had no idea what a Sennheiser lav set was - was going to charge me just to look at my system. I got the packs open, located the soldering joint where the old antennas were attached, removed them and soldered in the new ones. Everything tested perfectly. Thank you B&H for sifting through all of your inventory to help me find the perfect replacement antennas I needed for an older system. Your folks stepped up again to provide extraordinary service to help satisfy an obscure request. I appreciate your hard work and I'm feeling just a little proud of myself for having accomplished this task.

Thanks again B&H.

[3 V RMS] When the FCC announced that the Range-B frequencies would no longer be available, I took that opportunity to replace all my old Sennheiser Frequency Range-B equipment with Range-A.  For the past 15 years I have found Sennheiser wireless equipment to be very good.  Highly recommended.
