[Front] Most of my caps are the slip-on type that's more common in large-format stuff, but I got these for some of my vintage Nikkors. I use a combination of a custom step up ring from SK Grimes and a B+W filter then I cap them with these caps. These look very slick, and they work well. I've tried some of the cheaper more generic brands, and these Nikon caps have smoother edges, have less wiggle, fit more flush, and have small details like the fact that the pinch flats taper outwards slightly so your fingers don't slip off the caps when you pick them up or remove them that make them so much better to use if you're busy and have things to do. Many vintage rangefinders have cloth shutters, so you can just cover the lenses with this to protect them when you're out and around.

[Neoprene] I have been using these on vintage Nikkor lenses for my rangefinder, and they fit and work really well. One thing I love about these is how slick they look. They are such a good combination of old and new style Nikon caps. I have a vintage Nikkor from the 60's that came with a thick metal cap with NIKKOR on it in the same font and style. This combines that with the pinch style cap. This cap fits flush on the top of the lens which is really nice, and it does not wiggle. I have used a lot of pinch caps that wiggle around or fit loosely. I will be getting more of these for other Nikkors I have. On rangefinders these can be really helpful so you don't accidentally burn holes in your shutter. I hope Nikon will make these in more sizes. These are excellent!

[Slip-On] I bought this as a replacement for the friction cap that comes standard with the 26mm pancake lens. It snaps on the lens hood and is less prone to wear than the regular cap.

[Proprietary] I like to carry a spare lens cap in the bag--can't abide the tether solution--even though I've only actually lost one cap in three decades! The Nikkor caps seem to work better than the generic substitutes.

[Neoprene] These are some of my favorite caps. I've been using them on my F mount and other vintage Nikon lenses as well. There are so many little touches that make them very usable. For example, the little center tabs are slightly flared so you don't drop this cap when you pinch it in the center. They have a very sleek aesthetic and look nice on a wide variety of lenses.
