  • The EW 112P G4 features rugged, all-metal chassis well suited for extended use on location. The lightweight, compact bodypack transmitter is easy to conceal and offers rounded edges that are soft to the touch and comfortable for the talent to wear. A locking connector ensures that your lav doesn’t detach at a critical moment, while a convenient switch allows you to mute your mic.
  • Using the included shoemount adapter, the equally compact receiver easily mounts on your camera without adding much weight. The included cables allow you to connect the receiver to the 3.5mm or XLR audio input of any DSLR/mirrorless, camcorder, or recording device.
  • Both transmitter and receiver feature daylight-readable LED displays showing reception quality, battery status, and audio level. To get you going quickly, they synchronize via infrared interface with the simple push of a button.

  • The EW 112P G4 ships with the popular ME 2-II omnidirectional lavalier microphone, which delivers a natural sound optimized for speech intelligibility. Its omnidirectional polar pattern ensures that the sound remains consistent, even when the speaker's head moves away from the mic.
  • To take full advantage of the ME 2-II’s dynamic range, the system employs proprietary HDX compander technology, preserving your sound without adding unwanted noise during transmission, and delivering audio with remarkable accuracy and quality.

  • Adaptive-diversity reception for reliable transmission up to 330'
  • 42 MHz bandwidth with 1680 tunable UHF frequencies for clean reception
  • 20 frequency banks, each with up to 12 factory-preset channels to prevent intermodulation
  • Pilot tone squelch for eliminating RF noise when transmitter is turned off
  • Receiver with adjustable output range of 42 dB to match the audio input of your camera or recording device
  • User-friendly menu operation with flexible control options
  • Transmitter and receiver feature 4-step battery-life indicator
  • Auto-Lock function avoids accidental changing of settings
  • RF Mute function
  • 8 hours of battery life
  • Powered via AA batteries or rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack batteries (available separately)
  • Side contacts for recharging the Accupacks without removing them from either transmitter or receiver—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately)
  • Operate up to 12 wireless mics at once on set
  • Unlike digital wireless systems, the SK 100 G4 transmitter can transmit to an unlimited number of EW Series receivers
  • Wide range of accessories adapts the system to a variety of applications

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the system be used with a zoom recorder?

A: Yes. Absolutely. I recommend using the XLR output connector to go into the Zoom .

Q: 2. Can I plug this into my iphone using an adapter to play audio through instagram? If so, what do I need?

A: Yes, you can connect the ew 112P wireless system to your iPhone using a Lightning adapter. The Saramonic LC-C35 Locking 3.5mm Connector to Apple-Certified Lightning Output Cable (B&H # SALCC35) is a single-cable solution that can be connect to the receiver's output jack and directly into the iPhone's Lightning port. As another option, you can use the Rode SC4 3.5mm TRS Female to 3.5mm Right-Angle TRRS Male Adapter Cable for Smartphones (B&H # ROSC4) together with the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) attached to the original Sennheiser receiver output cable that was included with the wireless system.

Q: 3. Can I use two transmitters with only one receiver?

A: No this is a one channel receiver and it will not work with two transmitters, in order to mic two people you need two complete systems.

Q: 4. Hi, just bought two of these. When I plug them into the separate XLR channels on my Sony fs7, there is a noticeable hiss being recorded. When I only plug in one, the hiss goes away. Any suggestions? Thanks. Each is set to a different frequency.

A: Try each channel individually to see if there is a noise floor isolated to one channel. I would also recommend double checking that the level from each system is as close to the same as possible.

Q: 5. What is antenna diversity? I'm looking for what I call "true" diversity - multiple receive antennas.

A: "If you glance at the Sennheiser EK 100 receiver, you only see one antenna. However, if you write it off as a non-diversity system, you are mistaken. The EK 100 features a technology called “adaptive diversity,” which utilizes the connected output cable as the second antenna, making it a diversity receiver. By using the ground connection of its output as the link to a second antenna, it provides improved reception and reliability" Taken from "Understanding the Basics of Sennheiser G3 Camera-Mount Wireless Systems" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/pro-audio/hands-on-review/understanding-the-basics-of-sennheiser-g3-camera-mount-wireless-systems.

Q: 6. Kind of 2 questions: Whats the difference between the frequency models? It shows A, A1, & G with different frequency ranges. Which is best?

A: The frequencies have nothing to do with range. The range on all these is about 300'.It really doesn't matter you can pick whatever frequency block you want. You can run as many as 4 or more units in the same frequency block. When you reach a maximum of let's say 4 units in the same block. Then the next unit you would need to change blocks. So 4 A's then switch to A1 for the next 4. So it only matters when you are running several units at the same time.

Q: 7. Can you tell me the serial number of these product?

A: The serial number is only provided after you purchase the wireless system. We cannot provide a serial number for an item that you do not own. If you are looking for the serial number on a wireless system that you have already purchased, you can find it printed inside the battery compartment of the transmitter and receiver.

Q: 8. Digital wireless system

A: The EW 112P G4 system provides analog UHF wireless transmission.

Q: 9. I have this item, is there any way to use this wired? That is, to avoid the need to use batteries for non-moving, studio usage, drawing power from a mixing table for example?

A: If you were to purchase BH #SEMZA900P, this preamp would allow you to connect the lapel mic included with the wireless system to it, and wire it directly to a mixer via an XLR connection.

Q: 10. What kind of cable do I need to plug the receiver into a Canon C70 video camera? I understand the Canon C70 has mini XLR ports.

[3 V RMS (Max)] I considered buying a cheaper, newer, less tested product. I'm glad I didn't. These have never failed on me.

[Mute Switch] I do production sound for narrative and documentary films, and these lavaliers have worked wonderfully. They're really quick to setup and sync. They're small enough to hide fairly easily on talent. They feel really high quality, and like they'll last a long time. I highly recommend this system.

[Analog UHF ] I've used versions of this mic for years and it remains my top choice for my documentary work. Easy to use, adaptable, and a very clear signal. Amazing job isolating the speaker from ambient noise.

[42 MHz] Let me start by saying at the time of writing this review BNH was offering $120 gift card with the purchase of this unit. Before I purchase this unit I was looking into other units such as tentacle sync and tascam. However after discussing it with a few friends who owned both I decided this was the best value for my money especially with the gift card that was being offered. However, I was unsure which frequency to purchase. SenHeiser did not have their frequency information available on their website at this time and so I ended up calling BNH and talking to representative. They advise me on purchasing this unit because it was the most recent block of frequencies that had been released by the company and that I would have my best bet of getting as many channels as possible with this unit. This is absolutely correct as the first time I used it was at a huge conference and I had no issues with 12 channels available. The microphone while bigger than the earlier microphones was still very good and picked up even by standards that were talking with my client. A failed H for zoom recording made this a huge win for me as I was still able to pick up usable audio from interviews. I can't recommend this unit enough and it's the perfect time to buy especially if the gift card is still being offered.

[1.8 lb] We have been using low cost wireless systems for quite a long time but were frustrated by occasional dropouts or pops and squeaks on our recordings. We tried a variety of different solutions but without success. We finally made the decision to invest in the Sennheiser system and our problems were immediately solved. Our recordings are crisp and clean with no interference or dropouts.
